I anticipated a lot of issues, if they’d offered staying at UE4 and upgrading when ready I would have given it a few months. I never buy a new game on release day anymore. Although, I haven’t bought or downloaded any new games in a long time, CE takes up most of my gaming time.
I couldn’t get in last night at all 300-400 ping on a server my kid and I play on, weird thing is she got into our server while I was looking at a 199-399 ping with every refresh and relogin while she was playing. I got to see a lot of the bugs on her screen. It seems elevators don’t work anymore. I saw the character ride down the elevator as normal then die at the bottom as if they’d fallen.
Here’s a weird one, anyone use a teleport, any kind, and after,you have the flashing cold boarder on your screen like you’re somewhere too cold, i teleported to my base near the Unnamed City so a pretty warm area from a map room by Sep, so i didnt touch any cold areas. It didnt go away until i relogged, pretty annoying. Also i thought they fixed the “game still running” after you quit, but nope i had to push the Stop button in the steam dashboard. Lol its always 2 steps forward one step back.
After removing ConanSandbox/Mods/modlist.txt, the game loaded. Fantastic. Character and current playthrough status migrated. Attributes are correct, but now I have over 800 additional attribute points to spend! And of course, without the mods, all the bad things happened:
Every wall in my base disappeared (StygiaCreationKit) and every second and third floor. The grunts, gasps, and screams as thralls fell to the ground were hilarious.
Chests were destroyed. One thrall asleep in their bunk was smooshed under a giant rhino-sized loot bag.
Entire farm gone (Emberlight mod, IIRC). A couple of mod workbenches gone.
Barkeep gone, but tavern bar remains and Living Settlements appears to still be working. (Diverse Barkeeps mod)
My character’s hair went blonde. Most of my thralls were now bald, and with the whitest skin I’ve ever seen.
I will most likely stay in Legacy until I run all the dungeons. I fortunately have that option with Conan Savegame Manager (CESM).
This game has become a beautiful UE5 yet monstrous PITA, but I’ll gladly take it now that I know how to maintain my playthroughs, and that I know to allow almost an hour to download and install the other version when I switch from Legacy to Enhanced and back again.
No suprise there, they are after all two completely different gaming platforms. not all bugs or glitches will be the same went you port them over. same thing when it comes to the fixes. not all fixes will be the same.
And yes, I’m updated. Both the client and the server. Something is out of sync.
No mods, nothing special. Direct connect to IP and Steam. This was working yesterday and doesn’t now.
I gave my old 1060 (6gb, 192bits) to a buddy and we’ve played together today, however, it took him a long time to find a working driver version that allowed him to play. I got a RTX3060 myself and I also get an error regarding graphic driver version, I just click no and it enters he game. The trick is finding the right driver version and clicking NO on that “error” at the start.
The installed version of the NVIDIA graphics driver has known issues in D3D12.
Please install the recommended driver version or switch to a different rendering API.
I did! I was struggling with Nvidia last night and was getting “a protected app is preventing this from recording” so I wasn’t able to attach the video. After restarting my PC this morning, I tried again and it worked but I can’t see anywhere in the bug report where I can reply. It specifically tells me not to so I don’t know if I can add more information to the ticket.
@Dana do you know if there is a way to continue/add more to a bug ticket so this video gets included in the report? I think the ticket number is [280028].
