@mynotaure You cracked me up with your wife pointing out your flaws.

The game can be very unforgiving. I started on a PVE server with some friends and migrated to a PvP server with a buddy of mine who was excellent at PvP. I wasn’t, I think I outfitted more players than Funcom, just from them looting my corpse.

When they added corrupted creatures to the game, my first instinct was “Oh Boy!, I bet they drop something special.” All they dropped was me.
Or the first time I went to New Asagarth and saw Lagartha the Daughter of Ymir. I though “Oh boy! a new thrall to tame”. I didn’t realize there were untamable thralls. So when I ran in and hit her with a truncheon, she catapulted me over a building next to where she spawns. I had a sliver of life left and thought… what have they done to this game?
But we find and learn new things in this game all the time. Exploring and finding something new is a lot of fun. Learning can be painful, but at the same time fun.
Like don’t hit Lagartha with a truncheon, she don’t like it.

New content and play your way, with all the choices given, are what make me really love the game.
