This has not been my experience at all. I mean, certainly, if that group of enemies is PvP players, then yes, they can murder your thralls quickly. Otherwise, if you’re losing thralls, you’re aggroing too many enemies at once.

Me, I’m training my thralls in the middle of the Maelstrom. You should see the number of corpses on the ground. And none of those are my thralls.

This one has its advantages, and disadvantages. On one hand, I like the more casual approach that doesn’t interrupt my adventuring unless I want to. On the other hand, there’s a lot less variety (it’s all just Stygians now), and I need to game the system to play the system, by creating a base optimized for that one particular purpose. I couldn’t trigger the Purge in my main base because my decorative thralls would count towards the difficulty.

I’d love to see a “best of both worlds” situation where we could have more regional purges, with different factions and cultures, but I prefer being in control over when and where those purges happen.

I can live with the current iteration. I’d prefer it if they reverted the laser-guided enemies to work as they did before the latest update, because I prefer a Dodgy Dodgersson approach over face-tanking.

My main issue with the Bazaar is the inexcusably bad and misleading descriptions of the items being sold. Is the item functional or purely decorative? Can the emote be used by thralls, or just the players? Stuff like this should be in the descriptions, and I’m not going to buy any item that does not state its functionality.

I do think they should put the whole catalogue for sale now. It would improve the transparency of pricing, especially sets and bundles. They shouldn’t need to trick people into thinking they’re getting a bargain.

I am really sorry i didn’t read anything else from the original message!
It’s something that’s been discussed plural in here and i already know most of the positions of my fellow exiles.
What i will say is this.
I am really sorry for the ones, my friends and rest, that do not have fun with the changes.
I do have fun and i am not sorry about it.

To me… its two boats.

Those who put effort in, and hate losing them.
Those who treat them as throw-aways.
Maybe abit of both…

I think Pets and Thralls should be throw-aways. Get out there, Knock them out… and use them.

So Leveling should be shorter. Or Leveling should be removed… or Just 5 levels. You pick Perks or few Stats. So there Death isn’t as hurtful. There meant to be picked up, leveled quickly and used.

I think grind of Finding them/dragging back and equipping them, is grind enough.
Leveling Part just drags it out. But the ability to Custom Stats abit is needed.

I like it… I would baby sit purge meter anyway… So its not like I didn’t have control. QOL change says I can now Set Level and Time of Purge.

LOVE IT.
As Single Player (mostly) LOVE being able to set and start my purges. Online… LOVE IT, Being able to have your friends and kins mates on, and having a Purge Party? AWESOME.
Beats having 3 peeps at work, or one person having run cause kid decides fall down.

Agree’d The Stam changes and movement and … what ever hell is going on with Combat needs to be Undone. It was fun before… it had a few issues. Alot of ISSUES was how AI works. Its understandable do to nature of Servers and how data moves about. We can’t have super complex Monster Hunter stuff going on. (Thou SP could techinally…)

I think NPC (Humans) Should get moveset thats both used by use, and stuff we can not use. Jump Attacks, Leaps, Roll Stabs. Side Parry Stabs.
Swarm tactics get abit old…

Archers ever since change have become some of Stupidist AI I’ve ever seen. They use to Chase you down and pin cushion you for hiding.
Now… opps they went behind tree…guess I better give up and go home. —___—’

I’ve made my comments… theres about 150$ of stuff in there I want…but its value is only 30-40$ to me. Funcom never gonna get any money from me.
I bought most of DLCs, FEW of these DLC I bought had a HANDFUL of items I wanted. But it was supporting Funcom. I felt a Fair Trade.
Bazzar doesn’t feel like a Fair Trade.

Fix Combat… revert changes. Alot of Hate will go away.
Spurse up AI moveset.
Leave Players alone… change AI/Movesets when you need tweak combat and change how we come at things.

Leave us alone… some of us have years of muscle memory… and do not enjoy overhauls to play style. I don’t mind new enemies and new tactics.

And i thought this was just another bug or something.
Thank you guys, now i know it was intentional.

That the sword of crom doesn’t deal any damage when you hand it to a thrall is something i also thought was a bug. But @Wak4863 made a video recently about weapons and i realized it’s actually intentional too.

And that’s what bothers me the most about CE. The inconsistency.
I didn’t play AoS at all, i came back during chapter 1 of AoW i think (or maybe chapter? idk).

However, if i take a break from a game and return after some time, usually it doesn’t take me long to get back into it.
Like remember the controls and levels and stuff.
But CE, holy smokes! The whole game is totally different, and you as a player often don’t even know whats intentional and what’s not.

It requires skill and knowledge to get really good in a game, and if you take the time to gain that it’s rewarded.
Al least for me CE isn’t rewarding in that regard.
Everything can just change whenever FC feels like it.
And the technical issues the game suffers don’t help the situation either, it just adds more confusion.

If they don’t improve on that anytime soon, i think i‘ll just move on and be done with it i guess.

But i‘m still happy for everyone who can enjoy it somehow, for whatever reasons.

And i am happy for you my friend! You’re always respecting other people’s pov. And you shouldn’t be sorry for having fun anyway, damn have some for me too! :metal:

What ARE you talking about? In 2000 I didn’t run in circles and let the thralls do all the work. I couldn’t see the point in playing (if it could be called playing) that way. I did however experience being killed by a Cimmerian berserker with a sword of Crom while chasing a player that had bombed his way in to my base. He was running in circles, avoiding a fight while waiting for the Cimmerian to do it’s job. As I said, the game is going the right way letting players be be players and doing something to maintain some degree of challenge in the game.

The fear sets in, as players question their recent experience. If I contribute source code to CE, some will be happy and some sad. The point of no return is what I mean with all the legal jargon yet left to be said.

I rather let others call me a troll from my experience. No sense in wasting time on their trollish behavior while they setup their grammatical scarecrows of us. This is old.

I’m happy there is no ■■■■ in this game. I think the sword should work on these metanudity claims. It’s an easy solution for atonement. It’s clean up work and it is intentionally part of the game. :innocent: :technologist: :technologist: :technologist: :hear_no_evil:

Have you ever captured a berzerker at a very low level? They will one shot you, even with a star metal sword.
In your situation, you made a tactical mistake, you payed for it. Don’t blame the thrall.

Never saw the old purges except on private servers.

I wasnt going to grind my eyeballs out just to get it to pop.

And im not joining some clan i dont know and risk my online account getting banned- F that.

Dont need too - i learn bindings of the dead from frags of power from the library. I loot truncheon from mini boss in the cellar. And i loot legendary love tap from WBs and warmakers.

What do i need a t4 taskmaster again for? :joy:

burn

I think the new purge is a big improvement over the old one.

We always could control the purge, the old one was just a bit tricky.

The only purge that ever caught me by surprise was triggered by an Admin on a private server. While I was off line.

… A Cimmerian Berserker purge.
I joined years ago the American official server that @sestus2009 and @nitecat was playing. It was my sixth day, i had a small sandstone lodge in the mount of the dead and i was preparing materials to go somewhere to build a tier 3 base, somewhere peaceful. Playing already on Zebs American server, i knew that purge will come 3 after midnight. So i was gathering the last, organizing the benches to have work while i was away and go to sleep.
It must be 00:05 and i get the message that in ten minutes i will accept purge from Cimmerian Berserkers. Until this day my experience with Cimmerian Berserker purge was on pvp servers with tier 3 bases and a ton of lvl 20 thralls. So i play it cool and i did my “best” move give truncheons to a Tugra(20) and a Berserker (20). I didn’t knew that Berserkers could smash a sandstone foundation with 2 hits…
So i started freaking out loosing focus and finally died. I spawn on a broken house and before i understand it i died again. My next spawn was in desert. I found a map room, travel back to mount if the dead to find only the wheel and the map room.
For some reason they couldn’t break these 2.
The horse was on my floor balcony and for some reason it didn’t fell, so all that left was a demi broken wheel, a map room and a horse…
The best pve experience ever until this day i never felt helpless on a purge. If i gave to my thralls weapons, probably nothing of this would happen. A lvl 20 Tugra and a lvl 20 Berserker was more tgan enough to break even this purge. But i am happy i did this mistake, it’s my best mistake ever in this game.
I remember sending a photo on Keith and asking a shelter for a night. He invited me to his clan and i kinda make sure he won’t regret it. I like to believe that he didn’t.
Amazing experience!

Having played since the original beta, temperature was NEVER a problem with spiced food and Ice or even iced tea. So, this isn’t a change.

Also, was never a challenge. We’ve always had planters and could grow plants we use a lot of however, most you will still have to find and collects the original supply. So again…not a change.

Both still have the same number of thralls. Perhaps you’ve just learned to be a better and stronger player? Again, nothing has changed in either of THOSE locations as well. So, not a change.

Pets have ALWAYS been a weakness. But Mostly because of the way people place them. If you place an animal in an enclosed area people will simply just gas them or blow out a door or something to create a kill box. Same thing with ANY thralls. They need room to fight and defend.

This is the first thing you mentioned that actually has changed. And yest they have been nerfed because thralls were the ONLY ones doing the work. Players were just point and watch them kill everything. How any of you thought that was “fun” is beyond me. Now YOU have to fight the NPCs and creatures of the world and they assist you. As it should be.

Huh? I use repair kits all the time. Maybe you don’t understand how to use them now? I always have three Grandmasters on me to repair my weapons and tools. Depending on which one you use, the less durability you will lose on an item. Grandmasters lose VERY LITTLE durability on your weapon. If you mean, you can’t repair legendaries anymore, they did this so you have a reason to go get more of them. I actually have more legendary weapons now then I’ve EVER had before. And, so do my thralls.

Hardly. You’re just not making the right weapons then. For myself, I used craftable weapons over legendary ones. While I farm and have a lot of legendary weapons, they’re mostly weapons for my thralls. I primarily use craftables. This way I can repair it in the field if need be. Also, MOST legendary weapons prevent you from doing things like adding spectral coating or poison. That poison is more effective than effects from many of the legendary weapons. Also, if I lose a fight, I don’t care if I lose a craftable. So, I 100% need a Named blacksmith.

And you’re saying this like it’s a bad thing? I don’t get your logic? Most of the players aren’t kids in their parents basement that can spend 18 hours a day on the game. Most don’t have time to go out, get a thrall, place them in a wheel and come back next week to collect them. What fun is that? Also, the time it USED to take to make a thrall was such a turn off. You’d spend HOURS to make them, then go to sleep or work and come back and they’re all dead. Having been offlined and killed when you return to rubble.

So, yes this was a change and it is one of the best changes in the game. Now, I have 160 thralls protecting my base when we’re offline rather than 2.

This appears to only be a PC complaint. On console, we haven’t had any changes as we’ve always fought this way. In fact, we’d probably say the combat has gotten better. Now, NPCs can actually hit their targets and provide a challenge.

I think you’re having less fun because of the way you play. Because some of the things you said changed, haven’t and the legit changes that were made you just refuse to adjust your play for. I don’t know.

WTF where did you come up with that number? 50? LOL. I’ve been playing since the beta and have NEVER experienced 50 NPCs in the summoning place.

That’s laughable. I can’t say 100% because I’ve never found that area to be of any difficulty even as a low level player, however, I know that it was a major zeal farm for us and we’ve never left with 50 zeal from one run there.

Three years ago I specifically thought it was interesting. It turned out to be either 48 or 52, I don’t remember exactly. But this is with everyone who wandered around the entrance, fought with the kudo, etc.

More around 46 to 50 give or take update.

Theres 2 to 4 missing from bushes (by stairs), 1 missing near start bushes, 2 missing from side, Each top section is missing 2. There was 3 each of camp, then 2. Top paths had 2 on each campfire?
Not mention ones camping at top of stairs which argo’d others up top. 46ish…

Summoning place was in good spot… one of updates added more. Once they made Archers super stupid. It became a unfun place… cause they had so many that argo’d ones behind them…

Ones hiding in bushes were great.

New Asgard has…always been a mess on consoles. What worse… it was one of worst spots… and they went and added more… bears and cats, and more people on sides.
/facepalm

Alot of people on innerwall seem missing, few on outer. Mostly… 3 groups, got turn into 2 groups.

in SP, if your Wheel of Pain is to far out… they auto respawn in back. Its hell scape if your not ready for a fight 24/7

Yes, pets have always been weaker than thralls. But they were never as utterly pathetically paper thin as they are now. And if you even think that they were then you are truly delusional, or are just ignoring reality in order to pretend that “nothing has changed” even though the devs themselves TOLD everyone that pets have been nerfed in order for the “overhaul” that has never materialized.

Yeah, I’ve played since the closed beta as well. Once again, you clearly are not being realistic at all. If you seriiously think that the temperature system has not changed, where if you did not have the right gear you WOULD DIE in specific areas, then you are being extremely disingenuous with your post.

Which I am fairly certain that you are as it is. Why? Who knows. But you clearly are not replying to @Yasma in good faith with responces based in reality.

Would you care to have a list of all of the places in which the grey lotus flowers / seeds have been added to the game and thus making them vastly easier to obtain due to the massively increased number of spawns? Yes, that is a CHANGE which allowed for the specific resource mentioned by Yasma to become far more easy to collect. And the key word here…COLLECT! Not grow in planters, but collect. So again, yes there has been a change, which you already know but are pretending that there hasn’t been.

Very little loss of durability is still loss of durability, and any loss of durability is of little to no use compared to how they used to work. So you go ahead and have fun making your items weaker and weaker but not everyone is willing to do that. And once again, the grandmaster kits no longer being able to repair legendary items as they used to made their usefullness drop to a very small fraction of what it once was.

The NPC changes in combat are not an issue. In all honesty I don’t have a problem with them at all. The changes to combat for the player however is absolute s*hit. The inability to move your character with your mouse has utterly broken combat in this game and has made it absolutely horrific. It is the absolute most idiotic change they could have ever implemented, and it is not even dependent on combat. Grab your pick, hit some rocks, try to turn and move in another direction and the game won’t ****ing let you turn because you have your pick in your hand. It is the most brain dead and idiotic system that Funcom has ever introduced, and that is saying a lot.

Hah!!!

But I guess (s)he means official fix, not mods.
