Conan single player Breaking my playstation pro

Game mode: [Singleplayer]
Problem: [Crash]
Region: [Here]

So I was trying to create a video on bomb damage to different wall types, and when I set off 16 bombs it blew up my playstation. Corrupted the hdd. Was fortunately able to wipe and reinstall.
Attempted the same again, blew ps again

Steps on how to reproduce issue:

  1. Create 4 sets of walls 3 wide (foundations, walls, foundations wrapped in walls and foundations wrapped in fence foundations)
  2. Put 4 bombs in front of each wall type
  3. Shoot arrow at 1 bomb
  4. Watch PlayStation turn off immediately
  5. Cry when PlayStation doesnt turn back on
  6. Wipe hdd
  7. Wait 45 hours for games to download again

15 bombs at once is enough to cook the ps4 and make it’s fans whirl loudly. I haven’t tried more than that.

It looks cool. Funcom could try to program the fire to consolidate it to fewest sprites, and thus avoiding further damage to the ps4.

Cheers for the response. Youve tested up to 15? I want to try smaller amounts but I’m s*** scared of cooking the pro permanently!

I had to try.

My HDD and ps4 are fine. I’m really sorry about yours anyway.

Wow sweet I appreciate that. Wtf is the deal with mine? Are u pro or standard ps4?
I only see 12 bombs though, did u put the last 4 down after overhead screenshot?

Yes. Maybe the fans are clogged?, they DO whirl louder

I havent opened up the ps, but I keep the outer vents clear. It didn’t really have time for the fans to go up. It literally died before the last set of bombs blew. Like .5 of a second after the arrow hit

Hi @IxTheReaper, welcome to the forums!

We’d really appreciate it if you could share the following information:

  • Which PS4 Model do you own?

  • Is the console stable playing other demanding games?

  • Does it exhibit any signs of overheating while playing CE?

Hi @Hugo
Im on a PS4 Pro, I’m not sure if there are multiple models, but it was brand new 14 months ago if that helps. I have had some overheating issues in the past, where the playstation has come up with the blue screen warning. However - in aforementioned issue, playstation had been running for less than 30 mins, no signs of overheat, fans were going at normal speed. The system didnt feel hot to touch. The second crash the PS4 had been running even less time.

As far as other games, I primarily play COD Warzone when not on Conan, and that runs like a dream

Odd as I have placed like 50 bombs around a vault before and had no issues with crashes. Also wasnt a great explosion but did notice the splash damage did increase alot more then expected as my player got jibbed quiet hard haha

But I still use a first release ps4 so maybe that’s the difference
