I like most of the changes in this update. But some things could be better. I’ll list the things I’ve noticed;
The inventory screen, the tiles for each section have been reduced in size. Icons and lettering is far less readable than before. Example, the icons showing what tinkerer’s mods you have attached to weapons or armour were small before but are now even harder to see. I’m on a 47" 1080p sony smart tv, nothing special but it’s noticeably harder to make out the icons.
There’s huge empty gaps between the tiles in the inventory screen, why not just increase the size of each tile by about half an inch on each side, that would increase the readability and fill in the empty space and the tiles on the left and right won’t feel so pushed up against the edges of the screen.
Weapon information box changes.
Previously the weapon damage and armour pen values were listed in order: damage, penetration followed by any other effects such as bleed, reach, shield smash, etc.
So before, if i had box full weapons and i scrolled through looking for the weapon with the highest damage, all i had to do was glance at the tip left piece of information.
Now, what i would call secondary information is listed first, ie. top left. And depending on how many effects the weapon has the damage value, probably the most important bit of information, moves around! Therefore the information harder to quickly locate and overall the information is not as easily readable.
Quick stack is useful but not as useful as being able to move a specific number of items from a stack. The problem is when you want just one item from a stack. I know it keep splitting into the same second stack and doesn’t keep making new split stacks, which is really good, but if I want a single item from a stack but the container it is located within is full, i cannot split the stack. I have to take whole thing into my inventory, split it down to just one and return the rest. Before i could drag drop and it would ask me how many i wanted. And it was very easy to quickly select 1, 100 or any multiple of 10 using the triggers or shoulder buttons. I’m on Xbox btw.
Adding functionality is always good but removing very useful functionality is not.
Many of the changes seem arbitrary. Like rearranging furniture. There wasn’t really any need.
But other than those issues i like the other changes and additions to the ui.
