There is an option to craft directly from chests without needing to have the materials in your inventory. The issue is that it sometimes bugs: the range isn’t enough, or it only works for certain recipes and within certain distances. It would be helpful if something could be done to improve this system.
I have noticed the same thing. It is sporadic. Like placing a crafting station it will show that I missing materials, yet they are available in the chests. I grab the missing materials the game doesn’t see from the chest crafting and I am able to successfully place the station. This has happened while placing building items such as fence, foundation, etc… Once I grab the items, I am successful in building. thanks
When you want to only make some, you have to remove everything from your inventory in order to split up the mats.
I am hoping that perhaps the devs actually thought things out and intentionally limited/restricted the range for crafting from chests during raid time or when damage begins to structures as I noticed the fluctuation in range during server raid times.
The ridiculous repairing during raids in spots like keyhole or naked defenders running around spamming repair hammer when vaults get low without risking resources is silly. If the range on crafting/repairing from chests is heavily restricted during raid hours (should probably be turned off) and naked repair spammers have to carry materials on them, at least they have some risk attached.
