The age of war update is really good and you Gus are doing a great job of making this game better:). But more must be done with the progression system people who have A head start are almost unbeatable and there’s not much new players can do and I know you people ban people for raiding sandstone bases but it’s not enough, people will just make multiple accounts. I feel like A slight solution to this is to wipe the servers every at least 5 or six months so everyone is at the same playing field. O and one more thing please bring sever transfers back and just don’t allow people to bring back any DLC items only transfer there character that way it’s fair and people don’t have to spend hours leveling up their character to 60 every time they go to A new server. But with all that being said the game is definitely better than before keep up the great work and I’m sure we can all make the best game ever

Urgh.

I personally just want to make this clear , I HATE server wipes with a passion.

Having all your progress effectively wiped out by something arbitrary as an automated wipe, just to create a more level playing field , would (and has) annoyed the hell out of me.

HOWEVER, the OP does have a point, and as much as it pains me to say it, wiping everyone at the same time, is really the only fair (albeit somewhat heavy handed) way.

Urgh, I felt dirty just typing that out.

I will say one more thing though, just having everything admin wiped, I dunno just kinda sucks, it would be better (IMO) if it a server wipe was done in a more …thematic way, like a countdown to an apocalyptical purge, something which people could even take part in. Could even make it a competition to see which clan lasts the longest against it, maybe even earn a trophy for their efforts upon a restart.

At least it would be more fun, and if everyone knew the end was coming, I think most clans would throw caution to the wind, rather than sit on their stockpiles.

Just a thought.

I really love to start over again and again. It’s my way! I’ve been in the past “collector” and passioned builder of Museums. My greatest dream back then was armor stands.
Now that i have armor stands, mannequins you name it, i am nothing like this player back then, more or less i am sick of it.
But…
People love this s…t still, they actually play this game for collection and building. And i respect that, because this is actually the way they have fun.

So for them i vote no.

Official servers must shelter all the playstyles! By wiping these people you just open a door and kick them out… ouch…
No way!

People who are afraid of wipes don’t know what they’re missing, really. The first week or two after a wipe is an absolutely magical time to play on a server. Everything feels so much more meaningful and rewarding. And besides, Conan’s a fairly easy game once you know what you’re doing. There’s nothing you actually need (ie armour, weapons, thralls, bombs) that can’t be obtained within a week from a fresh start as a solo player once the knowledge is there. I don’t count a grid square parking lot of foundations as necessary of course.

It’s unfortunate though, Funcom’s hands are tied because they already promised no wipes. As much as it would improve the game, you can’t just turn around and say “lol jk we’re wiping all your stuff after years of saying we wouldn’t”.

Here’s another idea though - a few new servers that wipe regularly. The wipes could be with each chapter (~3 months) or with each age (~9 months). Put it in the MOTD so that anyone who joins knows what they’re getting into. I suspect that getting to play on a PVE server where all the obelisks and world bosses aren’t walled off or a PVP server where the top dogs aren’t sitting on 5 years’ worth of duped loot would be good for player retention.

:face_with_raised_eyebrow: Sarcasm?

I suggested wipe servers a while back. Mostly because every PVE public server is an example of TOS violations. I’d bet you can go on to any PVE server and just running from the start to sinners and find at least one massive base violating multiple TOS rules. But funcom wont police PVE because that is where the whales swim.

Agree, and would cause more people to quit then the last 3 major fiascoes; on the scale of the bugged foundations in A2ch1.

Once I hit 60th and have all the dungeons done I get board with it and go play something else. Right now I’m theroly hacked off at funcom. Playing 7days. I’m just fed up with the way funcom does and doesn’t do things. But I’ve quit playing and started over again multiple times. The public server I’m on I’ve been on since 2.0 hit. I’ve come back and rebuilt 5 times I believe.

Now funcom knows players that play through the bugs aren’t going anywhere till they close the game. So they are pretty confident bad content and poor admin decisions aren’t pushing us any where. But people that have been on the public servers and building for literally years, wont start over after a wipe. They will throw a kiddy shirt fit and quit all teary eyed and pouting. On the server I’m on I know exactly whom that would be.

When the fresh wiped test servers came up for the age of war, the servers ping was refreshingly low, everything loaded fasts. NPCs behaved right; for the new build. No hesitation, no lag, not stutter. Still like that even with all the little crapstone huts everywhere.

Actually that would be better measured in game play hours, but ya figure 50 hours you aught to be well on your way to 30th level. Once you hit 30th the difficulty level drops several points.

And a TOS violation IF you can actually get zendesk to investigate.

And the rule about not building to block world bosses was written in stone too, or so we thought.

:100:

But if zendesk actually enforced the TOS, PVE wouldn’t be a problem. Or at least I’d have much less to gripe about. But it seems it’s easier for zendesk to change the rules then actually enforce them.

My suggestion is to have Battle pass purchaser active admin servers. Wont happen, but I’m sure the servers would fill fast if offered. I have confidence that a lot of players on PVE servers would rather have some one looking over their shoulder then have to play on servers lagged down by monolithic keeps that just get bigger every year and with every new DLC.

Respectfully, you guys have a certain play-style, while others don’t share it. I play to get the purge and level up my thralls, and currently I’m enjoying the game more then any other time over the past 5 years that I’ve been playing.

I had all my stuff wiped back over a year ago when servers were merged, I’ve stopped and started several times over the past 5 years. I don’t mind starting all over, but I certainly don’t think wiping the entire server is a solution that will make this game more popular to the masses.

Also on a sidenote, I don’t mind the PVE server I’m on and all of it’s builds. I enjoy seeing what people create and the lag is negligible. For the most part people aren’t as*hats, they are somewhat respectful and understand we all love the game. This doesn’t mean there aren’t crappy people on Officials, they definitely exist, but in my experience, the helpful and friendly people far outweigh them. I can’t even imagine what my experience would be like if I didn’t have @jmk1999 and @Marylambs for inspiration and just to chat with in game. There are some great people on officials, it’s not all garbage

I do agree the idea of a few servers that have wipes every few months would be a good idea. People can knowingly join those servers if that is what they want to do

I can say I disagree wholeheartedly with this statement, simply because no, not every server is this way. The reason I say that is because my main server is actually pretty tame for the most part. As @Coyote0903 mentioned, it’s not bad. That being said, I can certainly see where you’re coming from with the cynicism all this time. I started on a new PvE server yesterday and YES, it’s bad. There’s webbing of land claim everywhere. Multiple clans have several bases that are all large. They don’t understand that an outpost is not a large base. The outposts that are smaller are ugly by design and have foundations or other stuff linking them to a fishing hut further away to avoid decay. There was even a base near the bridge of the betrayer that has stone paths linked like a long bridge from one base to a further away portion of their base! I think it’s so bad that followers tend to be even less responsive on this new server. Also, many thrall spawns are messed up and thralls are not where they’re suppose to be (I.e. blacksmith outside hitting the air instead of an anvil).

So yeah, it happens, but not every server is this way. I believe it happens when the majority of the “alpha” clans build this way and newer players replicate their build styles. The fault lies most likely with the veteran players on the server (who should know better), and not the newer, more irresponsible players. Most don’t read the TOS (yeah, I’ve spoken to a few of them) or they don’t care. This all may be in part why my main server isn’t plagued with them excessively like this new one. Most of the alpha clan bases (mine included) in my main server are designed beautifully and outposts tend to be smaller in scale.
