Custom map in singleplayer?

Hi all! I’ve been trying to figure this out for a while. I found a locked thread that explains how to set it up for a server (named “Custom Map Possibility”), but the same person who answered it said he couldn’t make it work for singleplayer. Does anyone else have any ideas?

Here’s the person’s solution so you don’t have to go back and forth:

Upon downloading and installing this mod for your server, you must add these two lines at the bottom of your “Engine.ini” file located in:
/ConanSandbox/Saved/Config/WindowsServer [/script/enginesettings.gamemapssettings] ServerDefaultMap=/Game/Mods/NewWorld/Maps/NewWorld This same file must be edited in the same way for Single Player as well. Just be sure to remove these two lines if you uninstall the mod. Just substitute the name of whatever other map you’re trying to load in the second line, obviously. I should say though that when I tried this in my singleplayer game the indicated folder didn’t exist and trying to edit the only “Engine.ini” file I could find didn’t do anything, so uh good luck I guess.

(I made a few minor cosmetic edits to make the .ini code lines stand out more)

One of the main issues I’m having is that the map is in a .pak (it’s from the Workshop), and despite WinRAR recognizing the file format, it is of course incapable of actually opening the file. I’m thinking maybe if I can unpack the file, I can get it to work without needing some kind of crazy workaround, but I have no idea how to do that.

Well, I’ve found sort of a half-solution. I was able to get a custom map kinda working by making sure it was enabled and then starting a game and typing "serverTravel " in console. Not ideal, obviously, but it did work (too bad the map was actually pretty small, since the guy had abandoned that version to work on a new version after only properly completing one small section). I’d like to know how to make it usable right from the start, from when you hit “Play” on the new game settings page.
