Yes. In the settings you can choose whether to drop all on death, just drop backpack, or drop nothing.
You might need to go into settings once the game is running, then select the server tab at the top, then select administration tab on the left, select Make me admin’, then change the setting. Or it might be one of the ones that you can change just from the main menu, I’m not sure.
