Developer Livestream: The Next Age

:rofl::rofl: that would solve it. But then the purge would be useless.

As long as they make them good, I don’t oppose.

From what I gathered, each time you repair your equipment, there is a 10% chance of permanent max durability loss. I suppose when your max durability reaches 0, you can throw that thing out…

It’s not bad. I can live with that, @AfterlifeWeirdo .
Do you know if the Nemedian still works? It repairs the weapon you are using when you take damage. A must until you craft kits.

Still usable but the weapon loses max durability . It’s one of the things that pissed people off in the stream. Players have spent a long time finding their perfect weapon and armor just to be told hey we are downgrading it plus you will now lose it. It’s basically being stabbed in the back for supporting the game.

if it works and doesnt cause durability loss, then that would make them uber valuable, and me likey.

Which is why they created a new weapon tier.

The treasure is somehow going to be tied to items tagged ‘treasure’. They said this. We don’t know exactly what counts, but chances are some of the old items like gold and silver coins and unique treasure items like the trapezohedron or the talking staff would count, imo.

For me, a proper treasure chamber is the most exciting part of the new Age. Its the one thing Ive been missing without mods. Now we need to see how bad are the other changes. Stamina changes certainly made me worried.

I dont really get this change. Now I will just be making a new star metal sword instead of fixing the old one. Whats the point?

To please the PvP community.

I get this “nothing lasts forever” part and I’ll adapt to it somehow …but it still makes me a little sad
I’ve played over 2200 hours on the official server and I don’t know the exact number but I can safely say that 1500+ hours of that time I’ve been wielding the same sword (Predatory Blade) , it’s been all over the map with me , all the dungeons , I’ve killed literally thousands of enemies with it …I’ve gotten used to it and it’s going to be a problem for me to adapt to it somehow…

basically I have 2 options ( after I put my original sword in a special place in the armory)

1)completely rebuild the build
2) farm a boss in UC , where there is a small chance that I will get another one ( which is not much fun considering it’s pure RNG and I get dropped once every x months )

The point is to make you play more, and to make you play more diverse. Creating a new sword means you have to have a smithing bench up and running, meaning you have to collect more resources, meaning you have to maintain your skills, and most importantly you have to return to your base and live from it rather than from vaults.

Maybe just maybe people do like to deside for themselfs how they wanna play this game.

Maybe. But the developers have their vision too, and they are making the game THEY want to make.

To repair a sword one needs to already collect and refine the mats. The costs are the same. I already repaired weapons at a blacksmith to get the benefit of the crafter thrall bonuses. Now I just need to do it more often, which is in no way “fun”.

I only see this reduction of max durability as a convenience tax, which is bad design.
