Thanks for the recap, @Multigun! Now I can comb through it to see what I missed by joining late
First thank you for the recap Multigun.
The building set looks good. Even though I think they could have thrown in some more of the variations they showed in their stream. It wouldn´t have hurt. Like the ceilings. The first arch (stoney one) you can see in the stream is something you can see in a lot of old basements cellars up until today. You can still find such basement cellars quit a lot in the eastern german areas like Thuringia or Saxony which have had a ton of castles and houses build in the medieval era which had this kind of ceilings. My parents house still has such a cellar under their home. They choosed the third one which is quite pretty and accurate for that time era for attics, but not cellars. But well, maybe I am too picky. All in all very nice stuff which you can work with to create beautiful medieval worlds.
Personally I am very dissapointed about the furniture they choose because they threw all kinds of styles together which lead to a big âmischmaschâ how we say it here. Too much nordic embellishments and style for my taste. Not that there is something wrong with the nordic style. I just don´t think it should be mixed that much with the medieval style which this set is leaned at, at least thats the impression I get. If you choose more of a medivalish building style the furniture should also be looking like it. Table number one for example would have fitted more to the szenery. But each there own. I am sure most people will like it.
Side note:
If you are interested in medieval castles or building styles and you are visiting Germany on a trip you should go and take a lot at the Wartburg Castle in Eisennach. Its the one that Luther got sheltered at while he translated the old testament. You will get an breath taking view from the mountain down to the city. Its one of the view remaining castles in Germany that try to keep very authentic in there restaurations (if they need to repair). You won´t find much funiture in the castle since a lot got destroyed over the centuries. But they offer a great collection of amors, weapons, paintings, books, small items from the daily live and juwelry. The whole basement, which are severall rooms are full of stuff. The do regular events and tours.
Down on the website you can also find a link to a 360 degree castle tour. Welcome - Wartburg
Thanks @Multigun for putting this all together!
This dlc looks great! Those building pieces are fantastic, and I really love the âkatanaâ, it will be nice to have another large saber style sword
There is no need to worry about it not fitting, the katana is quite similar in dimensions and use to historical European longswording.
Will console be fixed before the new content gets added, or is this going to be added to the broken state of console?
I only ask because xbox is almost useless currently. In so many ways the game honestly sucks now. Combat lag, rendering issues due to the lowered proximity players can build near one another. Thralls dropping through mesh, npcs that cannot be staggered or interrupted, sometimes cannot even be seen as the game likes to render weapons but not the npc using the weapons. Human npcs make rocknose noises, rhinos hit once snd stack 12 x bleed effects in one hit.
I could list the current problems console has for the next week of my life. So, i ask again, will console be fixed before this new dlc, and the opportunity to create more issues, is added to an already deteriorating state of console CE?
And havent we got enough magic yet? White out skies, invisible humans, npcs that are inhumanly unstoppable. Disappearing chests and sabertooth cats and skelios bosses. Floating sky bases, molemen players undermeshing, magically emptied vaults, alla ka zam, your base decayed in 3 days due to a spell on your decay timersâŚso much magicâŚpoof, look at the console players vanish.
Before this thread devolves into another round of âFuncom hates my game mode/platform and only supports that group over thereâ - I thought it might be worth mentioning that some of those bugs are already listed as fixed in the testlive 2.6 patchnotes (I canât test the console specific ones, but all that I can test have proved correct so far). In addition âThralls dropping through meshâ is a bug affecting all platforms, while ânpcs cannot be staggeredâ is an intended change (that was made too severe and has been dialed back on testlive). As for Rhinos hitting once and adding multiple stacks of bleed - if you get hit by their charge attack that has always happened, again it is not a bug the charge attack just hits multiple times. Combat lag and invisible NPCs are certainly problems - and seem largely to do with performance issues, which, as was reiterated in the stream, are a constant priority.
What it comes down to is the simple fact that if Funcom only prioritises bug-fixing, then there will be no updates and no new additions - which will lead to a whole bunch of people coming out and insisting âthe game is deadâ because they only care about ânew stuffâ. Funcom has to walk a balance between fixing and new stuff, they always have done. Itâs also worth noting that, if you pay attention to what was actually said on the stream about small updates until 3.0, it sounds a lot like most of the updates between now and 3.0 will be focused on fixes and QoL changes. The Nemedian dlc sounds like the only significant new content between now and 3.0, and is almost certainly being timed to try and make sure the ânew stuffâ types get something to keep them satisfied while the team can continue to focus on bugs (as they have for the past couple of updates as well). To be clear - Iâm not denying bugs, nor am I denying that consoles seem to have it worse, Iâm just pointing out that Funcom does appear to be prioritising exactly this point.
Xbox doesnât have the stagger immunity bug, I donât know about PS though. Iâm not sure what is causing the problem the poster was having with staggering people, as I do not experience it on series X.
I also donât ever have the rendering problems he mentioned, but Iâve seen other players suffer it. I was helping a friend who plays on an original Xb1 do a dungeon and didnât know that the boss had not rendered for him at all until I had it under half health
I think in this case the stagger immunity is directly related to the rendering problems the poster is having
The bugs I have that are consistent are the white distance terrain bug, the thralls falling through the ground (although unlike in my SP game they arenât falling all the way down, just a bit below the map often where their head is still sticking out) and the weird sticky climb bug when trying to go over a ledge.
Interesting! I had understood that to be one that we all got. Certainly on PC there was a lot of complaint about it (and I experienced it myself to the point of just avoiding camps). I wonder how Xbox escaped
I think youâre right to focus in on the rendering issues - they do seem like a plausible cause/contribtor to many other issues.
The white terrain bug sounds absolutely horrible, I must admit - I doubt I would be playing with it present, just too many headaches Iâm sure. Thralls falling through the ground seems to be widespread on all platforms - unfortunately, while I havenât had it happen to me on testlive 2.6, others have reported itâs still going on, so we may still be facing that one.
The sticky climb bug interests me because I think I have a solution/workaround (it works for me, but maybe the bug Iâve experienced is a lesser version), but Iâve been unable to get anyone with a confirmed version of the bug to confirm whether it works for them. If you climb up to one of these sticky points and gently roll the camera view forward/up as you climb - so view is more or less directly behind as you reach the ledge and then view is from slightly above as you go to climb over (obviously holding climb button throughout, since that generally seems to be advisable) - does this work? I find it causes my character to vault more forward rather than straight up, which seems to solve these problems for me - Iâm just wondering if itâs more universal.
Have you had a chance to use the katana yet? Musashiâs Black Blade is like my hallowed weapon these days thanks to my pal Volatus who insisted I try it.
As for fitting in I will just say, if it were indeed Europe, you would be legendary to this day for your swordsmanship and movesets.
Iâm just curious, if anyone knows - from any source - what the attribute bonus will be, on those armors?
The thing that pains me the most is that thereâs a number of them, that might make those totally unusable for thralls, not without sacrificing those 8-10 points in attribute bonusâŚ
I do hope that at least the medium one (as I donât like theâŚuh, âunorderlyâ appearance of the heavy one) would end up with either strength or vitalityâŚ
Oh, bugger.
Iâm happy that at least the light got accuracy, but the medium - IMHO, the best looking one in this pack - isâŚutterly useless.
My slaves always get hit with that. I run, it runs after me, the rhino aims at me and hits the slave. I love that, I hope it wonât be changed any time.
Hey all,
Another small clarification since some people on Twitter and during the stream wondered about it: People of the Dragon will come with 3 new Nemedian-styled horse saddles (light, medium and heavy).
I want all 3 building designs! They are all great!
@Muelee So true. It must be very hard to decide whatâs best, they were all perfect. I feel that choosing witch must be wrong decision no matter what. Unfortunately they had to pick just one . Yet again, once again to remind the wise words of @JJDancer about the artist department of Funcom, they are nothing but true, for me they are the best of the best, elite.
