Ok, it’s great that Funcom is working on the new map of Siptah and we’re all waiting to explore it as soon as it’s finalized, but we shouldn’t forget the lands of exile. Many players are still playing it and many new players will want to start with this old map.
So it would be time to repopulate the old dungeons : Black Keep, the Dreggs ; as well as several caves.
I think adding a few more monsters and mini-bosses isn’t very complicated, so it could be done quickly. Adding a few chests and some new recipes would also be nice and make you want to go back.
100% this. Exiled Lands has so much potential but is not only plagued by bugs, but just feels very incomplete. I got to endgame and just found there’s not much to do, and of the things there are to do they are buggy, incomplete, and unrewarding.
You go lvl 60 and you don’t find much to do? The game starts at lvl 60 my friend, all you just said is that you never learned the game.
Anyway, @Enapets I agree with you, I want this crystal or ice barrier to break and fight this yeti that wait for so long across the final boss door in warmakers dungeon. There are so many walls inside caves that looks like doors. I want more and more and more, plus I need a proper ending, I need to go and find the ones that steal my riches and my family and remove their heads and I want to take with me all my thralls and all my pets. My thralls help me to survive and dominate and I want to free them too, after all they were exiles too .
I have said this time and again, but boss wise I would really like to see The Mummy of the Ring added sometime soon. Other than that I am all for expanding upon what we already have in the Exiled Lands.
I got to 60, built an army of fighters (found no purges worthy of my army), did all dungeons (found them to be mostly underwhelming, buggy, not very rewarding), built multiple large bases (which turn to dust if I go more than a single week without tending to them). I haven’t even been playing six months and I find no motivation to go farm UC for the thousandth time (got a dozen Predatory Blades already and several Swords of Crom). The game lacks real longevity. Me and the people I played with just got bored after several months.
One really big thing would just be reducing the overall bugginess. A huge part of pve in this game is knowing all the bugs inside and out and playing around them, which is just dumb and frustrating and takes away from the immersion and entertainment value.
The other big thing is finishing things. Too many incomplete dungeons and boring encounters.
Finally, having some kind of ongoing challenges that are fun for the experience (not just the loot) are important to engage people who have got the best gear and best thralls and are looking for something to do.
Conan Exiles needs more RPG elements. It’s got most other aspects covered pretty well, with minor set backs with the dodge/heal/stamina changes. If they won’t do it with CE, maybe they will do it with Dune. shrug
@arktara, Well this sounds different than your first statement, because you don’t take a dozen predatories in 2 days . Your first post left the idea that you went lvl 60 you remove your bracelet and bye bye. At least this is what i understand and that is the reason i speak this way. Except your buggy, laggy opinion now, do you want more dungeons or not?
I realize that the jungle is also a bit empty. There are ruins but many are empty. And the rare monsters present (ape men and gorillas) do not represent a difficult challenge. It would be good to add some mini-bosses which appear in a random way as well as chests and especially new recipes. A “King-Kong” World Boss which would walk in the jungle and would be unkillable except to be in a group it would be mega cool !!!
The palace of the Witch Queen would also deserve one or two additional rooms with a little more challenges (groups of Lemurian warriors to face for example).
What’s a bit unsettling is that we don’t know if Funcom is really looking at the Suggestions forum posts ? And we have no communication on the future of the Lands of Exile.
If you have Admin access Stelagel you can always use Ghost mode to pass through the ice door; I did. However the bad news is that it seems he is only intended as part of the landscaping/aesthetics. While on the other side he had no agro or health bar and did not respond while I was attacking him. In addition, while it is possible to loot the two large chests in his chamber, they only contained generic low level loot such stone, wood, etc. The sort of things we would expect to find in an Exiles faction chest.
Depending on bug some of them personally I like them because if you hit that one spot you can fall under the mesh a little more and you get stuck and die so I consider it a trap that I have to be careful with other wise I’m screwed and it makes some more of a challenge to say the least
They did say that they will focus on both maps equally as much as possible and they also consider el to be incomplete and also want to finish the main story as well once siptah is full released but as with all things in life some plans are difficult or unable to happen due to unseen problems like oom leak as an example that does screw things up
Something is telling me that at this point there must be a door that open with rusted key, but something went wrong and they place a crystal barrier . I am jumping to this conclusion through the number of the rusted keys. They are 5 but the doors are only four. So maybe there, on the original plan, it should be a door, maybe, this is just a speculation nothing more .
At the moment, I am exploring the lands of exile like never before. And I realize that many areas are quite empty (whether in terms of monsters or mysteries to discover): the snowy area, the volcano, the jungle. However I think that additional content could be added in a simple way and therefore quickly (without slowing down the finalization of Siptah).
Funcom could for example add very powerful wandering monsters, items to collect and which activate on altars or open doors in other areas (anything that encourages exploration is positive in this game). Funcom could also add random events (like meteorites falling from the sky). For example a caravan that leaves Sepermeru to go to the new Asgard and the players can either defend or attack, for example the sky darkens due to a ritual started by the Darfaris (ritual that must be stopped in time otherwise Yogg demons appear randomly on the map). This game has such potential (and especially the old map, but this potential is under-exploited). I hope that many of you share my opinion.
Bye
@Enapets , These empty spots maybe have a reason after all. If you are a veteran playing pve or pvec you can always go and build there. Building is spots like this you do not destroy spawns of various things, so these empty areas maybe have a reason after all .
Some players decide to fix mausoleums in the noob River destroying various spawns so damn useful for the new players of the game, creating awful lags on the server. Or others believe that if I will build in front of the summoning or new Asgard etc, I will grow faster, but all they do is destroy the server. These empty spots is a message from devs to the gamers to build there. And believe me, if you build to these isolated places you will love your house 10 times more. I remember once I build for pvp north west to the frozen lands, dude I could listen and see from my balcony the Meteor shower, it was awesome . In my beginning I didn’t add pvp, because it is certain that you will go and build to isolated places, how do you think I learn all the map .
I need more difficulty, better purges, less bugs, some event and temporary reward that makes the game more interesting, more life on the map and even expand the exile map, I wish I wish …
Well not use of adding much of anything till they fix how on a lot of server the bosses just port to one place on map and break your game play. Guess lots more dungeons be great if they ever fix the boss bug.
