The problem with the attitude of ‘it’s all temporary, get used to it’ (which is an attitude I see mirrored by at least some statments from the devs) is that it’s an attitude that drives players away from the game. Is the game ‘dying’ - I have no idea, only Funcom knows the numbers. But I can say that it is an attitude that is driving me away from the game. The past couple of chapters I have played only long enough to complete the Battlepass as fast as possible and then have had no desirte to interact with the game at all for the next couple of months. This chapter I doubt I will even do that, unless the promised hotfix does a lot more than merely reintroduce stack splitting. So the ‘ripping off of the band-aid’ that is occuring, at least for me, is simply a matter of not playing at all - which is a reduction in player numbers and income for Funcom (no matter how small the impact of one player may be). I am tired and the state of this game that I once loved makes me sad. But the attitude of ‘if you don’t like it, there’s the door’ that comes from some players seems pretty short sighted - if you show enough people the door, then a lot of us may actually quit - in what way does that help the game?
