funcom is freeing some restrictions that players asked for years, like the exclusion radius for thrall placing last week i dicovered that now i can place thralls close to each other, without using any trick. Can put pillars on corners ,still need to use a trick, but now they dont disapears anumore after some time or server restart. It improved a lot for me. Only thing that bogs me now it the buildings sets not havong all pieces, e.g. lost dungeon dont have wedges. And of course, cheaters and exploiters, got my base raided on pve by purge exploit.

If you asked this question 5 years ago, I would have said no. I was around 800 hours in by the time I exhausted all of the vanilla content and went to mods. I used mods pretty regularly until Age of War, and then I was in the vanilla game for most of it.

Even now, the only mods I’m really using don’t add much content at all so 95% of the play is still vanilla outside of playing a map I haven’t tried yet. So I would say the game offers quite a bit to do nowadays compared to several years ago.

Despite my usage/creating of mods, I still will play vanilla from time to time. It’s fun to play with just base game rules from the beginning and also, it’s research on new game mechanics for use in my maps… but yes, I enjoy the vanilla experience as much as anything else.

I started playing about 4 years ago, spent the first six months on the EL map, then almost a year on Siptah… and the rest of the time with mods, and most recently on new maps. If it weren’t for two great mods, two maps - Sawage Wilds and Isle of Men, I most likely wouldn’t be here.

It’s the only way if you’re not on PC.

I hate mods. Some of them are fancier than the original product, but they can change the gameplay and lore so much that it can make me feel it is pointless to play at all.

The only mods I would eventually get to like, are the decorative ones. But the cheated weapons, cheated NPCs and portals to travel fast, orc opponents, elven factions and so on? No, thank you.

That’s actually something I don’t like either. When the game is trivial because of changes in the mod to stats, thralls, weapons, etc it is a definite turnoff. When I made Isle of Men, I made a specific point to make the game harder. There are some other notable mods out there that do this as well.
