Dodge, rts defense, and transportation

Thanks for being very great as a developer. I was just thinking that when you’re running, and you dodge, the animation isn’t very meshed well with the speed you’re going, and the dodge roll speed. So what my suggestion is something along the lines of creating a new mechanic which would be a large dodge which would cost more stamina.

The code, for what I’m thinking is probably something like this:
If get keycode left shift && get keycode left alt == down
then dodge distance = whatever value you think works, stamina - whatever amount works.

PS. I could be wrong with c++ but I’m more of a c# guy.

also, another thing that could be very interesting would be something like a command center room where you can take control of your thralls and have them defend your base in formation. I don’t think that anyone really wants there to be 50 thralls running behind one person on the map, but I do think that the mechanic for a defense for the base would be very nice. especially if you could form a phalanx against purges and what not. What the point I’m trying to get at is a slight rts mechanic for defending bases ONLY. I know that there’s an AI update that’s coming, but for something that could be very useful against some purges, tactics would be a lot better than hoping for something good. like certain thralls might get ganged up on, and having the thralls in formation rather than being spread across the base would be something decent.

The last thing that I would like to note is that a major crazy overhaul to the game would be something along the lines of caravan transportation/trade. A lot of the parts of conan already look like roads, and putting those roads to use would be pretty cool by creating something along the lines of carriages that can transport goods from one base to another, or transport it to the city where you could sell the goods for a lot of silver. The reason why I think it works even more is the potential for bandits to raid caravans going from one place in the exile lands to another. another part of transportation could be boats/snowbords/skis/sandboard.

I know that a lot of these things can easily break the game, but I think that immersion is something really cool that could come from these aspects of the game. I know that the end goal of the game is to delete the character (basically) and then to continue as a new person, but the fact that some of us are playing the game on a slowed down scale of time, it would be really effective for some more interesting ways to interact with the game rather than just dungeon crawl sandbox. Don’t get me wrong, the sandbox element has to stay. but implementing some new concepts shouldn’t be something that gets lost in development. like there should be some kind of economic element to the game in terms of trade past just a city that isn’t affected by the outside world. IMO a new city of exiles would be very well received along with caravans that go from one city of exiles to the other city of exiles.

In no way am I saying that this should be done overnight either, rather is could be something in lines with more of a 4 year period of creating content. I would say fix all of the bugs first with the horses and everything, and then slowly add code that can work with adding carts and what not. Don’t force a deadline on the functionality of the codes.

In all, I think that I said what I wanted to say, and in no way do I think that these are absolutely things that have to be in the game, but in terms of sustainable fun it might be something that everyone could potentially enjoy in terms of new mechanics in the game.
