As the title says, it is worth using explosive jars on creatures to take them down? How much damage they do on animals, creatures or thralls? Anyone can help?
I don’t think I have ever heard anyone using explosive jars to farm pve content. They are too expensive to craft. You can start singleplayer on decadent and test there.
I wouldn’t waste them on pve content. They’re best used for blowing up bases, and star metal if you don’t want to make the arrows. Normal animals are easy enough and bosses are now also quite easy if you have the right level and gear. I’d recommend spending the time getting a good combat kit and build over farming the materials for all those jars.
I was just asking, we on a private server and there is this spider boss another clan has and it go like 167K health, would the explosive arrows work on it to chunk its health down?
Oof, I’ve been there.
You’ll want to stack all the things, and a decent Archer build with all the arrows (along with patience, opportunity & some mates watching your back) will be your friend.
Snake arrows for stacked poison damage, Firespark for bleed, Poison for noxious gas and just before that one dissipates (the cloud will last about 30 seconds), fire off an Explosive arrow for a big kaboom. If princely go with Star Metal or Obsidian (for the higher armour pen) in between - Dragonbone will work, but you’ll pay for it in Encumbrance. If you do throw some bombs down for some extra oomph, you’ll want them laid out before firing the explosive.
If you can, get someone with a fighter build up close with a decent hammer (ideally coated with Scorpion Queen poison) to stack Sunder and make it all that little more effective (communication is pretty vital here so you can tell them to back off before the 'splosion). Not sure how the Executioner’s weapons go on Pets these days, but would be well worth bringing one to the party, it might shortcut the undertaking.
Oh, and take along a set of Champion’s Leggings or some Cleansing Brew. That corruption attack can sneak up on you after a while if you stop paying attention.

This is not for an actual PvE server but if you ever go onto a PvP server, you can try to blow up an enemy thrall. The loot might glitch out but the thrall will die if you place a few bombs
If it is not enclosed, you can kite it up stairs and do the fall damage trick that works on world bosses.
Go about 16 foundations high on the build. Then have a player kite it up after them. When it gets to the top, destroy the pillar holding the top floor up, and the spider should fall to its death. Again, it would have to be kite’able area though, and not inside of their walls.
