So first off, they’ve clearly lost their minds on Bazaar pricing. Like, it was bad before but holy frak this latest offering is ridiculous.
Still, I’ve been so pleased with Enhanced that I was willing to cut them some slack and give them some support. So I bought the cute dancing girl outfit. Big mistake and I will be asking for my money back. Let me show you why.
Exhibit A: Clipping issues. This character is the proverbial skinny beeatch. None of her parameters are over the top or pushing any limits. And yet note the clipping issues on the belt itself and the bits dangling off it.
Next note the green rectangle. WTH is that leather strap doing there? What is it part of? It makes ZERO sense with this outfit. Ridiculous. It’s obviously NOT any functional part of the belt.
Next, note the shoulder pauldron. Not attached to the top at all. Not even in the back. And with a nice pointy bit for stabbing yourself with when you move your arm. Seriously, it’s just sloppy and bad.
But wait till you see the feet!
First of all, how tired are you of random bits of cloth that serve no logical OR decorative purpose just being slapped on random parts of the legs for no reason? And can we talk about the anklets? They look like something you’d injure yourself on. They are NOT delicate jingling dancer anklets. Nor are they any sort of armor.
So at this point I have just one question: What drunk intern made this outfit?
Needless to say, I’m not buying anything else from this latest offering and I’ll be asking for my money back. Hopefully the rest of you won’t need to because you’ll be smart enough not to buy it in the first place.
Thank you for being a victim by taking the L for the community.
I would’ve almost bought it but because only 1 shoulder got Armor and not both is why I did not
And glad I didn’t Thank you for sharing your misfortune with us.
Thank you Dana, I really appreciate that though, to be completely honest, I doubt anything will come of it. As it is I’m going to have to fight to get my money back and may have to involve paypal because they sure don’t make it easy. I know I’ve been harsh, even for me, but dang, this has been bad even for Funcom who is well known for peddling ridiculous “armor” that makes no sense. Which is why I seldom buy in the first place. FC screwed up heavily when they got rid of Witchingbones (who I only knew by her old Enjin handle back at prelaunch) who designed all the original base game armors. Because love them or hate them, they actually FIT the characters properly and without any clipping issues. Because the woman was a seamstress in real life and it showed. Being an RL costumer of many years myself and even having dabbled in what you could call light armor I understand what an art translating that art to the screen is. And frankly, most of the modders out there are blowing away the people you pay to do this stuff. Which makes me wonder how poorly the job is paying.
And I get that the UE5 conversion probably cost a pretty penny, but if they think jacking the prices sky high in the cash shop is going to pay for it they’re going to have to do a heck of a lot better job than this.
Not to mention that the Bazaar seems tied to something illusory; what if they revoke your access to game content (e.g., not receiving future updates…)? or they simply cut off access to the services, bazaar items don’t work offline… You’d simply lose access to everything from the Bazaar…
But you are not talking to a modder. You are talking to people who charge a kidney for that poor excuse of virtual clothing. The design is bad and the clipping is insane. This is beyond sloppy. It’s trash. Don’t they test these things before release?
I like the design. I thought it looked nice. Its the price that’s keeping me away. I could see a dollar here, or a couple of dollars there, or even a ten dollar set. But the Bazaar prices are nearly ten times what I would be willing to pay.
This has been the case all along - all bazaar items (and battlepass or twitch drops) require you to be logged in to Funcom Live Services in order to have access. They are inaccessible if you attempt to play offline, or if something fails in the FLS verification process, or if FLS is shut down for some reason in the future. These items are not ‘owned’ in the same way that DLC items were owned, they are merely licensed for use.
Yeah. Its like, does Funcom/Inflexion want ten people paying $10 each for their great set or do they want nine unhappy customers and one ‘whale’ paying $100 for their set. Remember the old saying: “less is more.”
That is exactly what I am thinking and I don’t understand their whole approach to this, it doesn’t make much sense. I am pretty sure they would make more revenue by volume if the pricing was more palatable.
Same deal with these odd packages that inflate the price. If I want to buy the outfit/armor then I have to also pay for the 3 or 4 other pieces which I might neither use or want.
Also and maybe I am missing something here, but why would the light Vendhyan Mysic set be more expensive with “reduced” price of 851cc versus 767 cc for the medium Courtly Exile armor set, while they would be equally priced at 1,000 regularly… ??? Well this all would be if we could just buy the armor/outfits without the other items in the set bundle.
Oh and compare that to the previous Pictish Dancer for example which was 500cc reduced and 1,000 regular. Hmm… arbitrary pricing? roll the dice pricing?
While I appreciate you passing the info, this armor design was seemingly approved and the 3D version was approved as well. It’s not a question of investigating but finding out how this made it to the bazaar in that state. How could anyone approve this?
And don’t get me started on the price. Someone at Funcom is either disconnected from reality or gladly embraces the enshitification of things. I got most of the DLC’s for cheaper than the price of that armor set.
Well that means I’m definitely not buying anything else from the bazaar. That’s absolutely ridiculous and there’s no excuse for it. Especally when we pay MORE for those things than we did for the original DLC. If I want to play single player I absolutely would expect that all the things I have PAID FOR to be there. Man, I find out something new to bolster my hate every day it seems. LOL
