If you’re in the game on a server that’s lagging, you can’t use any of the bazaar items because it can’t resolve your connection to Funcom’s servers. You can use DLC items, just like you can still use those on family share accounts, but anything bought through the bazaar will be unavailable to you.
Also, do not expect this to be fixed. That pot from the bath set still has a broken texture. lol.
Sounds about right. The telescope will still offset your character making the animation look ridiculous. The Corinthian bookcase still loses its books. The Nemedian bookcase still has placing issues. It’s endless. They know about it. They just don’t care.
I wouldn’t go that far. I think the dev team is under pressure to get through a very long list of items. Management wants stuff out the door asap, and are the ones who aren’t too concerned about the quality. It’s been my experience that coders care quite a lot about getting it right, they just aren’t always given the time or resources by management.
And “management” is who I am referring to. These are, by and large, people with no love for the game and who care about nothing but money. Which, ironically, leads them to make decisions that give their product a bad name. I honestly feel sorry for the devs. I know what this game would be like if they were given their way. And it kind of breaks my heart.
So let me see if I understand your position in it’s entirety…
Is it your opinion that the largest game company in the world (tencent) can not provide adequate resources and/or talent to one of their larger and better studios to get these simple bug fixes implemented?
Is it your opinion that tencent doesn’t have the money? They are the wealthiest game company in the world.
Is it your opinion that they don’t have the dev talent? They have built some of the most impressive titles ever created.
They don’t have time? The number of devs they employ, staggers the imagination. They employ somewhere between 100,000 and 130,000 people. You could add the entire combined workforce of Sony gaming division, EA, activision/blizzard, nintendo, and ubisoft together… and still be 60,000+ human beings short of tencent.
Let me be very clear… If they cared, these HUNDREDS of bugs, would be systematically targeted by very talented devs and eliminated so fast it would make your head spin. They have the power, resources, money, talent, and influence to do WHATEVER they want. If normal LARGE game companies are standard silverback gorillas… tencent is literally King Kong.
I really don’t understand how people can be like “oh, well yeah game dev is hard and takes time and money” when making excuses for this company and the current state of Conan Exiles Enhanced or legacy. This company CAN do literally WHATEVER it wants. The problem is, it doesn’t want to. Not when it comes to this game, and that is PAINFULLY obvious.
Funcom had roughly 300 people when tencent bought them. It now has somewhere around 500 people. So they have MORE manpower now than they EVER had since 2008.
If anyone wanted to take care of these nonsense game-breaking bugs… they’d be taken care of. Simple as that.
i started reading the first two paragraph and stopped reading, try to research how exactly tencent involvement with the game studios they own works. it is obvious that you have no clue how that relationship works.
n a nutshell, Tencent acts as Funcom’s corporate parent and strategic coordinator, taking an increasingly assertive, business-focused approach while leaving creative decisions to the studio.
Here is exactly how their involvement looks right now:
Enforcing Project Focus: Tencent actively steers Funcom’s business strategy. They pressured management to narrow their scope, drop secondary projects, and pour their resources entirely into their flagship IP, Dune: Awakening.
Funding and Scale: Tencent provides the massive financial backing required to maintain the heavy demands of Dune: Awakening—including its PC updates and its upcoming launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Fostering Inter-Studio Collaboration: Tencent connects its subsidiaries to work together. Right now, Funcom is collaborating closely with fellow Tencent-owned studio Inflexion Games to roll out the Legacy of the Giant-Kings story arc for Conan Exiles Enhanced.
Infrastructure & Analytics: Tencent maintains a deep-level technical presence, specifically embedding Google Cloud-supported data analytics cultures and backend tools to help Funcom manage live-service player concurrency
hiring everyday bug fixers and game content developers is entirely Funcom and Inflexion’s call.
However, Tencent plays a vital role behind the scenes by managing the overall payroll budget and optimizing the hiring process.
The exact division of responsibilities breaks down as follows:
Funcom and Inflexion’s Job (The Direct Hiring): The actual interviews, vetting, and daily selection of QA testers, gameplay programmers, and level designers are managed internally. Funcom operates its own standard hiring pipeline across its international studios. They are the ones choosing who directly touches the game code for updates like Conan Exiles Enhanced.
Tencent’s Job (The Financial & Structural Framework): Tencent games leadership explicitly noted that while they do not intervene creatively, “creative people do not always know how to do finance or production or hiring.” Consequently, Tencent steps in to evaluate Funcom’s headcount budget and provide structural hiring advice. They make sure the studio isn’t over-hiring for minor projects and that human resources are funneled cleanly into core initiatives like Dune: Awakening.
The Shared Cross-Studio Resource Pool: Because Tencent owns both Funcom and Inflexion Games, they act as the corporate bridge. Rather than forcing Funcom to hire a massive wave of permanent new staff for massive overhauls, Tencent orchestrates collaborations like the one for the Legacy of the Giant-Kings story arc. This allows Inflexion’s developers to seamlessly co-develop content and fix bugs alongside Funcom’s teams without messy external contractin
or the massive Conan Exiles Enhanced upgrade and the Legacy of the Giant-Kings story arc, Funcom and Inflexion Games split responsibilities by separating the creative brand ownership from the hands-on technical development.
Because Tencent wants Funcom to completely focus its own developers on building Dune: Awakening, they shifted the core labor of Conan Exiles over to Inflexion Games.
The workload is split based on a clear structural division:
1. Inflexion Games (The Engine & Content Devs)
Following structural changes to their own survival game, Nightingale, Inflexion took over as the primary, hands-on development team for Conan Exiles. Their responsibilities include:
The Tech Overhaul: Inflexion handled the massive task of porting the game over to Unreal Engine 5, completely updating the graphics, shaders, and UI.
Content Creation: Inflexion’s production team built the new narrative arcs, created characters like Akhamet, and designed the Cyclopean Halls dungeon.
Bug Fixing & Live Ops: Inflexion acts as the technical front line. When major patches trigger community issues, or when server bugs pop up, player reporting channels are routed directly to Inflexion’s engineering team to patch.
2. Funcom (The Director & Publisher)
Funcom remains the ultimate owner of the IP, shifting into a supervisory and publishing role for this specific title so their main studio can work on Dune:
Creative Oversight: Funcom’s Chief Creative Officer, Joel Bylos, and their lore teams still approve all story elements, ensuring Inflexion’s designs fit perfectly into the Conan universe.
Publishing & PR: Funcom manages global marketing, distributes the game on Steam, handles community management announcements, and coordinates licensing agreements.
Fucom had a terrible track record much before Tencent was even on the horizon.
That said, for us players it doesn’t matter who exactly is to blame. What truly matters is that we bought a defective product that should be fixed. Laws should be much stricter about the state in which games are lauched and kept for years.
If you can’t do it, then stay clear of the videogame industry. Unfortunately, games being launched filled with bugs that are not fixed for years became the norm when such should be an exception.
No, we bought the product—I, for example, in the spring of 2021—in a certain condition (it was recommended by a friend, who said, “Yes, there are bugs, but it’s not that bad, and it’s playable”).
The problem is that its technical condition is getting worse! So the product I bought is, over time, in worse condition than it was when I paid for it.
On top of that, I have to add that Funcom ignores the community and feedback to such an extent that even in the gaming industry (where this is, unfortunately, normal), it really stands out.
Not only is it in worse condition than when I purchased it, it is not the same. It is changing in ways I didn’t have any input in or agreement with. I am all for upgrading a product or service but this game is fundamentally different then when I purchased it, there should have been a rollback facility enabled beyond legacy which people could choose to stick to a release and to say this far and no further, even if the game could no longer be fully supported by the devs it should have been the people’s choice to make after laying out the coin for it.
How do you think your personal attacks and insults make you look? … all while you defend this massive corporation and their continued exploiting of innocent gamers.
IGNORANCE IS NOT an insult. ignorance is the lack of knowledge about something. i gave you proof of it. now read some more get yourself informed.
defending? how exactly? puting blame on the ones that are not to be blame its exactly what you are doing.
the failures regarding fixes, are owned by funcom and inflection , i explained what exactly does tencent with the game studios they own. so if you are going to put blame on someone, make sure you point in the right direction.
and regarding this issue yes i call you upfront a complete ignorant in the subject.
You insult people… and then claim it’s not an insult because you think you are right about the insult. Absolutely unreal level of disgusting behavior. lol
Oh, I see… so you insult people, then claim you aren’t insulting people because you think your insult is right, then claim they aren’t “manly” when they won’t bow down to further insults. You have no shame, and your continued insults prove it.
not my fault you showed ignorance .in fact you have been doing such for days, accusing the wrong people, now you are offended because i call your ignorance out? you dont want to be called an ignorant stop showing it and stop acting like one… by GROW A PAIR , i meant own your own mistakes… the issue is clear ,., the ones to blames are the developers , already posted you a clear explanation on how is tencent involved, and what funcom and inflection roles are.
this is the last time ill reply to you, so if you wish to continue by all means do it , this is a free country, free world, but i am done , i am simply puting you on ignore, wont be reading you anymore.
Good. That means you won’t be responding anymore, ever. I am sick of your insults and personal attacks anyway. So I’m glad to hear it. The fact that when called out about personal attacks, you think the correct reaction is MORE personal attacks and insults… speaks volumes about your character.
You both are probably right, because there are big differences between platforms and the experience also depends on the mode you play on (SinglePlayer / MultiPlayer)
I’ve bought the game for my PlayStation to play it in SinglePlayer mode and here it’s not playable.
I gave the game 3 chances over a period of roughly one year, I think. Some months / updates between the attempts. The longest time I was able to play was 2 weeks (in RL, not sure how many in-game hours). First crash and all the progress is reset, stuff partially deleted, mixed up, level 60 remains, but only one attribute point available etc.
That’s the outcome of all 3 attempts. Yet this broken game is still being sold on PlayStation store, SinglePlayer mode available and no word about being unplayable in this mode. It’s not like they are not aware of this…
