I really don’t think it’d last two minutes on a PS4 server!
I have a lot of respect for that. Building on the PC is luxurious, because you can get a higher framerate and resolution. This is a testament to the new Building System too!
I am currently playing on a private PvP RP server with hardcore rates. And most of the builds there are this way or another are creative. Like players build villages, taverns, etc. And yeah. because this is an RP server, you don’t just attack another player’s base. That’s the reason why players here tend to build creative. And often they leave some doors open for other players to check on their bases. I like this very much!
I tried to build in a similar manner on an official PvP server once. And I must say, players respected my efforts. Even when they raided my base, they figured that the upper level has a purely decorative purpose and left it intact. Mostly. And I LOVE THIS. Why? Well… When you build on a PvE server you don’t fear to lose it. But when you build fancy on a PvP server there is always a sense of prize when the players who can simply remove your base in a matter of minutes do not do this simply because they appreciate the looks of it
And another reason why I don’t like to build on official PvE servers is because… how do I put this? Usually these builders don’t know their limits and end up with enormously big bases not because it look good, or they need this. No. They build it for the sole reason - because THEY CAN. And I have hard time coming to terms with this.
It’s basically the “save file” of the game. At least on PC (Single-Player is all I know about), the game regularly saves your progress to the game.db file while retaining several older copies of the file. So if your game gets corrupted for some reason, you can grab one of the older save files and rename it to game.db and continue the game from the point where that save file was created.
Having lost over 300 hours of gameplay when my old hard drive died I have made it routine to make a backup copy of the game.db file to another disk after every longer game session.
I see. Thanks for the explanation. But even if I had access to said .db files I wouldn’t share it to preserve my dirty secrets and ugly parts of the building. Trust me, no one wants to see how it looks from behind.
