Same thing has been said about every funcom game to date.
So you haven’t found the bazaar, or what they may be calling it?
I’ll get Dune when it hit’s my $10 price point. I’m not really a Dune fan, and have gotten notices on every video released to youtube so have seen as much game play as everyone else.
Considering that Dune requires a fairly beefy PC and, based on what I read here, consoles already struggle with running CE then the console launch for Dune promises to be… memorable.
Well, quick search shows no console launch until 2026. Maybe the next gen consoles will be out by then. Perhaps those will run CE decently at least.
You left out a good bit of info but I’ll go out on a limb and say yeah, it is. Meets or exceeds Dune recommend specs in everything but the hard drive.
I’ll also make some assumptions… A short test in a small zone with few players and no intensive building, as of yet, isn’t going to be representative of the full game.
Great idea. I have now put 40 hours in 8 days on Dune. Features needed to be Conan…Be able to craft with materials in chests on the same claim. So much easier to Drop into organized chest and then go station to statuon to craft whenever, without searching and having to transfer needed mats. The power system for statuons. Having to refuel based on amount of stations draining, and having to make enough power stations to support it. The contract system. Sending me on open world quests makes it feel like an adventure game. Optional to complete the different quest when in an area. NPC fight AI. Still gamey, but at least they maneuver sort of and block and dodge. Oh, and the semi random resttingvof where resource nodes appear. Makes one do some adventuring instead of run to same exact spot on maps.
I tried reading the book in the early 90s was a avid reader the whole recycling part was in the book. Add what Funcom has done with Conan-Exi just ticks me off. I am sure alot of people will like Dune doubt I will ever try it little more chill today. @erjoh
I dunno, I thought it was a masterful reference to the source material. Hats off, @sestus2009
I agree with the sentiment, but disagree with the choice of the word “until”. I don’t believe Conan Exiles will ever get “properly fixed”. And that’s why I’m not buying “Dune: Awakening”. I’m a much bigger fan of the Dune source material – the original stuff by Frank Herbert, not the steaming pile of crap that his son shat out – than I am of the Conan source material, and I had high hopes of playing that game back when it was first announced, but Funcent managed to erode my trust in them to such a degree that I’m not going to throw my money away on yet another frustrating journey.
Basically there is a contract board. It gives you a “mission”. Sometimes you get an option after the first one to cash in or continue to a “harder” mission. Semi story driven. Rewards are legendary blueprints or just plain gold for the shops. Not super deep, but will have explore and gives a sort of mercanry gameplay style instead of grind and build. And you can start multiple ( i have 12 active) and see the area on map for all of then with the contract icons. So in some areas you might have 3 seperate contracts close by you can complete. Again, not deeeeep, and dont know how many contracts there are or if they plan on adding more over time.
