Easiest path to North

Greetings!
I settled on F10, and I’m having a lot of trouble to find plant fiber for everything from building to breaking Thralls.
Yesterday decided just to go south and gather 1K of plant fiber, but always find some tough way to go north.

Which is easiest path to go North from the desert?

I’m assuming that’s your first base and you aren’t lvl 60 yet? My outpost is there and you know what, there’s a LOT of wolves between there and the desert. I try to avoid them and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. It’s a good place for thralls and steel, but for the rest you’d have to mine them. Why not settle in the desert and build your strength there, and leave the F10 place as an outpost?

Here’s what I did and it served me well…

For F10, I’ve found decent pockets of plant fiber and seeds running around New Asagarth (you’ll dodge Mammoth on the east side). There’s quite a bit if you head towards D10.

The other solution to get plant fibres is to plant seeds.

@Exto indeed, my first on this server. Level 28 or 29 so far.
I started to play on the desert, but server was down for so many days I decided to start over on this one.
Figured out too late that place is dark and full of terrors, but I liked he challenge.
Hit like earlier on your post, really good tips :+1:t3:

@Gailyn I’ve tried those too, they give so little fiber

@Wolfrider4594 but I guess it’ll take too much bones for planting? Would be great to plant it, but not sure if it’d take too much materials or not.

Thanks everyone! Will try to find a path which doesn’t involve me climbing every cliff to go north :flushed:

You can try to go south in the squares E8 and F8 there’s trees and fibres plant and wolves. More wolves than fibers plant I think. But near where squares E8 - F8 - E7 - F7 join, there’s a passage to the southern desert. It’s just east of the Den. Or at the joining of square E8 -D8 I think there is a passage leading to The Ruins of Old Nebthu.
Or if you keep your gears after death, you kill yourself and choose to respawn at your original spawn point. Then you head straight to the noob river where is all the fiber plants you’re dreaming so hard about. The journey back home might be a little long and dangerous.

This was my next suggestion - sickles help quite a bit. The problem is, fiber is used so many ways you’ll never have enough.

Thanks again! :+1:t3:
I’ll try the passage, and I have 2 steel sickles looted earlier.

Good hunting!

Steel Sickle pulls 5-6 fibers per swing! :raised_hands:t3:
Thanks aguan, everyone!

Always run up from the desert and use Shattered Springs as an east-west highway. Then run low along the Highlands Greenbelt east and west. If heading south stay low and use Chaosmouth as your guide for the center exit.

I use the area right outside of The Den to go up into the North by foot.

There’s some scorpions to avoid but half the time they don’t even aggro on you anyway.

You come out nicely to a safe spot in the Highlands where boar are the only animal for a while.

Yes the ways near the Den are quite good to go to the north without big problems.
Other solutions include tigers (near the shattered basin) or tigers AND rhinos (north of Nekhet oasis, the passage that goes to Riversend). Or a lot of climbing.

Thanks!
Climbing :person_climbing:‍♂ is exactly what I’m trying to avoid, so I can drag Thralls all the way south to north :grimacing:
I made it all the way through freaking tigers and elephants, was not easy at all, and used some elevator someone left around. Next time will try to find a better path.

There is some scarcity of darfari and exiles around New Asagarth neighbourhood.

Thanks  You actually don’t need to climb a cliff to traverse between the desert and highlands. There are many “holes” and one I use most often is one near The Shattered Basin. The hole is marked by a broken statue that has fallen.

I used it to go to the desert but couldn’t find it on my way back! :joy:
Lucky there was that HUGE elevator from some other players.

That hole (located at Shattered Basin) is in G8.

There is a cave at D 10 that is a well known place to build a base, but there is also a wide open space by the river before then that is great for a base. Trees, stone and plant fibers abundant with iron ore just barely south of it.
