From what I am hearing on the testlive reviews, ceiling stacking is going away in 2.8. I would like the ability to neatly secure an elevator’s vertical movement and want the ability to put a hatch door and an vertical elevator on hatch frame since I apparently will not have the option to do so with ceiling stacking.
Is there a visual example of what you’re describing? I don’t use elevators much, so I’m having trouble visualizing this.
No at the moment but imagine two hatch frame stacked (Technically there is a space between the two but that in the weeds of the design). The bottom is where the elevator goes. The top is where the hatch door goes. As you rise in the elevator you will move directly into the hatch door unless you open it (if you can). If you can’t you either have to hang on or fall down.
I understand now, thanks for explaining. So, with ceiling stacking being removed, you won’t be able to do this unless they add a true snapping for hatch frames and elevators, did I get that part right?
Without stacking you would have to create horizontal mechanisms to secure your vertical elevator (like elevator goes into a box and you have to open the door). This is very inefficient for space, ugly as all hell, and still pretty open to being raided
bingo
Oh yeah, sounds like an issue. I hope this gets looked at then.
A system where you could select which floor the elevator stops at would be convenient.
