Episode 2: The Five People You Meet in Hell

After Agent Powers left with Ekaterina they made their way to the kitchen and pulled out some fruits to dice up and some to squeeze for some smoothies. Ekaterina helped by getting the serving trays and glasses with straws as Agent Powers was chopping like a pro and then squeezing the other juices into the blender full of ice. Ekaterina was impressed by the focus of Agent Powers as he worked quickly. He thanked her as she helped him then they carried the drinks, box of toothpicks and fruit trays to the pool area. After they arrived they set up the drinks and food on a pool side table for everyone. Then Agent Powers brought a smoothie and fruit tray to the small table by Alyssa since he didn’t want her getting up for a while. He then gave her a smolder and said, "I know you don’t like forced chill time but you need it.”

“Yeah, yeah I know I’m not great at the whole downtime thing or, as you put it ‘forced chill time’ I think I should start using that expression.” Alyssa thanked both Max and Ekaterina for getting the food. She sipped her smoothly, which even Alyssa had to admit was tasty despite being healthy.

Then as Alyssa was enjoying her smoothie, Ekaterina talked Agent Powers to sit on the edge of the pool with her and soak their feet as they enjoyed their snack. Since it sounded like a relaxing thing to do, Agent Powers did as requested and sipped his smoothie next to Ekaterina.

A chill went up Dahlia’s back at the thought of vampires, the princes of darkness had a connection to Judaism. They celebrated the light. It was the light that led her ancient ancestors to their home in Israel.

She looked at Max and Kat. That brought joy back to her, just watching them together.

She picked up some mixed fruit on one of the toothpicks and nibbled at it.

“Are you feeling better after your smoothie Alyssa?” asked Sartre.

“A little, yes.” Alyssa responded, as she bit into a piece of fruit. She gently squeezed his hand.

“Gehenna is actually a Greek term,” Dahlia explained. “The Hebrew is gey’hinnom. Some call it the Valley of Hinnom. It is actually translated as the Valley of Wailing because of the wailing mothers at the loss of their children being sacrificed. Today, this area is now a city park and a popular venue for rock concerts.”

“You’ll have to forgive my ignorance on the religious side of things, I really don’t have much of a background in that.” Alyssa never wanted her questions to come across as stupid. “Is that where the Wailing Wall is?” She knew it was somewhere in Jerusalem, but not exactly sure where.

“It is fine,” Dahlia easily said. “I do not expect everyone to know my people’s history or beliefs. The Wailing Wall is north of Gehenna. It is part of the Temple Mount, which is above the Kidron Valley running east of Jerusalem. On the other side of the Kidron Valley is the Mount of Olives. It is actually called the Western Wall, which is all that is left of the holy temple. It is the retaining wall of the Temple Mount, which now houses a site important to Islam. One day, we will reclaim the Temple Mount and rebuild the temple.” She said this last part in a confident tone as she sipped a smoothie.

Agent Powers stayed away from the history/religious talk since he knew he would sound dumb if he did. He barely passed his home school classes as it was and the only stuff he remembered was due to being at those places on his missions. So as he soaked his feet in the water next to Ekaterina while sipping his smoothie he noticed she wrapped her foot around his and was gently moving back and forth. When he looked at her she elegantly smiled at him before elegantly sipped her smoothie. He noticed her sexy bikini as he admired her figure. She was very pretty and he was still trying to figure out why she liked being around him, sadly he lacked the courage to ask her. He figured she would tell him when she was ready. So he just quietly let her have her fun as he sipped his smoothie. Ekaterina on the other hand was enjoying her time with Agent Powers by the pool since this was a rare moment for the princess.

The information Dahlia had, was likely much more than Alyssa was privy to in the moment, the hacker was certain of it. Hopefully, eventually Alyssa could learn more. Right now, she ate some more of her fruit and continued to hold hands with Peter, as tried to think of another question to ask Dahlia but to be honest she was still a little worn out from the experience and her mind just wasn’t coming up with anything.

Dahlia’s eyes misted. She loved her nation and her people. It was why she would go to extremes to protect them.

She turned to Alyssa, smiled, and whispered, “So, you and Agent Sartre? I’m happy for you.”

Alyssa smiled softly, and whispered back. "Yes, and thank you. " She had caught on that Max and Ekaterina liked each other and suspected that Choi and Dahlia might like each other but she wasn’t experienced enough to know her instinct were correct. Plus it felt a little intrusive because she didn’t know Dahlia that well. “I was thinking that maybe we are missing an possible area for research. Maybe, we should watch some movies based on vampires and werewolves, certainly not everything will be accurate but it could give us a list to cross check.” And this way she could work without doing too much, but Alyssa didn’t say that outloud.

“Yes, sure,” Dahlia responded. “Maybe it would be good to check out. Maybe the original Dracula story, true to the book. It was written a while ago, so it may not have as much embellishments from Hollywood.”

Sung steps outside and looks around he speaks words of magic true seeing He looks over the grounds knowing nothing can hide from his sight. He said another set of magic words that let him detect anything evil or good anything like an aberration, celestial, elemental, fey, fiend, undead, and even a werewolf.

Sung started to walk towards the back gate and away from the house when he heard his name He knew Choi he could feel him in the house but did not know he was coming out into the backyard.

“Yes, get moving we have a lot of ground to cover,” said Sung looking around and waiting on Choi.

“Yes, Master Sung,” Choi intoned.

He kept in step with the older masters. For his age, Master Sung moved fluidly. Yeong could tell that the master’s gaze was beyond what Choi could physically see.

“Anything putting up red flags?” he asked Sung.

Sung thought about Choi’s question. “It will take time to make this a completely safe place. We are ah… just renting so what we can do is limited. now if we were to make this our team base it would have its benefits. In the city, there could be a lot of collateral damage out here not so much. But then it is easier to attack and can be more… Hmmm… They could use more force or more destructive type weapons.” Sung started to explain.

“I am really looking at the layout of the land. Looking to see if anyone followed us out here. The other organizations like the Vampires and Werewolves do have resources similar to ours. we need to some simple discreet or hide in plain site type of things.” Suggested Sung.

“The wolves needn’t follow closely to us,” Choi suggested. “Their noses are valuable tracking devices. They could probably be a mile away and follow our scent.”

He quieted so he wouldn’t break Master Sung’s concentration. Yeong was amazed the man could scan the area and hold a conversation at the same time.

“Maybe bird feeders could be used with camera’s having motion sensors.” he suggested. Bird feeders were something natural on a country home.

Sung smiled " I have used deer cameras before they are already camouflaged stick them in trees if you have them and stay dormant for months. They activate only when something passes them. Most of the time if you see one most ignore it as a hunter’s equipment." replied Sung.

They walked a little further Sung would look back at the house now and then. Sung watched as the grass moved with the breeze that felt nice it was a quiet and nice day. “Remember vampires have heightened senses as well. They can track you from a distends. That is what makes them dangerous to people,” remarked Sung looking around.

Sung turned to look at the lake. “Our weakness will be the lake. I think,” said Sung.

(I)The lake?(/i), Choi thought. Well, of course! The assault could begin from a completely different state, or even country. The enemy could be in the middle of the lake and have a clear shot at the house with a ground-to-ground missile. There was no tree line blocking the line of sight.

“Master Sung, I do have one question that perhaps your wisdom can help me understand,” Yeong inquisitively said. “Alyssa stated that the enemy may be the werewolves, who are fighting for the desecration of the forests. By doing so, the claim to be representing Gaia. If they represent Gaia, shouldn’t those with Gaia’s bees be helping the werewolves?”

Sung was quiet for a minute he was contemplating something. It seemed like forever before Sung answered. “I am of an Order one almost as old as the Dragons organization. I am a Sentinel of the Eternal Watch. We fight for humanity. It is our sworn oath to protect this world and humanity.” Sung paused thinking. What more should I tell young Choi. How far should I go?

Sung continued. “You would think the other organizations would have this same view but not all do. Templars come close but even in their ranks, some believe their organization should be supreme,” explained Sung. He knew that did not answer the question. but did tell Choi where Sung stood with his question.

“For me no, yes our power comes from Gaia. But Gaia comes in many forms of power. Gaia is either good or evil. It is how you use your strength. Your heart decides if you do good or bad.” remarked Sung. He turned back towards the house.

Choi quietly followed Sung back to the house. He chose this time to chew the words that Master Sung had said to him. To gain wisdom, one must meditate upon the truth when spoken.

Stopping just before they get to the back door Sung stops and looks at Choi “We have good sight here around the house and I doubt if anyone is just going to walk up on us. I am confident that no one fallowed us and larking around.” said Sung confidently.

Sung stopped and looked at some windows that led to the pool area. “chlorine? I smell it. You have to be kidding me. Swimming at a time like this?” remarked Sung with confusion and frustration.

Posted by : mdman

Sung turned and walked to the door that led to the pool area. Seeing Alyssa, Dahlia, Max, and any others by the pool. Sung looked like a father who caught the kids doing something they should not. Was Sung jealous or disappointed, Sung was hard to read?

Sung just shook his head and changed his expression. “Hello, I see we have time to goof off. I thought we had stuff to set up and people to watch out for?” remarked Sung. His tone was not one of accusing or authority, his tone was more questioning.

Choi didn’t need to imagine Dahlia in a swimsuit. He had a good memory of last night, which replayed in his mind throughout the day. He only grinned at Master Sung’s verbal thoughts.

“Didn’t someone once say,” Choi suggested, “All work and no play makes Yeong a dull boy?”

“My fault, it was supposed to be a brief swim before starting to work but I kind of had a …mishap.” Alyssa’s voice trailed off, hoping someone else would finish filling them in.

“Alyssa had a vision of Prue, who told her goodbye,” Dahlia reported as she stood. “Because of the stress and trauma, and her constant working, we forced her to relax.”

Choi liked what he saw in Dahlia, both in swimsuit and standing up for Alyssa. “Well,” Yeong said, “We can’t blame you then, can we Master Sung?”

Alyssa noticed that Dahlia left out that she almost drowned but it wasn’t like there was anything Choi or Sung could do about it, it was just that she wanted to give Max credit for saving her.

“Agent Powers happened to save her life,” Dahlia added, “as she almost drowned.”

Alyssa nodded a thank you to Dahlia both for sticking up for her and kudos for Max.

Sung sighed. then smiled looking well a break can be a morale booster. He did not want to interfere with fun. The ladies definitely looked good in the swimsuits. In his mind if he wondered what their body type was it was answered now. Sung was a man after all and seeing these women in bathing suits was not all bad.

Some of the advice given to him by others was the younger ones like doing things spontaneously. “Well I guess I can not blame you all for the pool then,” remarked Sung. With a simple graceful motion, Sung pulled his shirt off. His body was not perfectly cut but muscular. For a man in his late 40s, you would think he was in his 20s. Stepping forward his shoes came off and he jumped into the pool with his pants on. Sung had no idea if this would be funny or if he would look stupid. but what the hell he had to stop being a hard ass all the time.

Choi and Dahlia both chuckled. Yeong stated that he would go and put on some short to enjoy the water. Dahlia nodded. They had some fun last night, but she’d enjoy seeing Yeong’s muscles again.

Alyssa had to laugh at Sung jumping in with his pants on. He was fit for an older man. "Sung you do have surprises up those sleeves of yours, don’t you?”

Sung swam to the edge of the pool. “Old men have lots of experience and surprises. That is what makes us special.” replied Sung with a grin.

Alyssa smiled and breathed a laugh, at Sung’s comment. It was nice to see this other side of him. “So, how’s the property?” She asked him.

“Alyssa; Do you have any idea what the differences between the Ventrue, Which the Prince of Chicago is and the Toreador which the Prince of Gary belongs to are?” Sartre asked. He continued to hold her hand.

Agent Powers gave Sung a smolder before he smirked at him. The old man was stoic and funny at the same time. Ekaterina giggled elegantly as she saw Sung dive in and splashing them a bit in the process. Ekaterina was curious why Agent Powers didn’t care about getting kudos for saving Alyssa, but it was cool that he was humble about it. She then asked Agent Powers, “So do you know any good vampire or werewolf movies?” Agent Powers gave Ekaterina a smolder then replied, “Hmmm… not really but I definitely don’t recommend the Twilight stuff. The vampire guy I met had nothing but hate for the whole sparkly vampire theme they used in it. He was even debating killing the writer of that story.” Ekaterina held in her laugh as she covered her mouth.

Choi soon returned with a splice jammer swimsuit. He sat in a lounger on the other side of Dahlia. He spied the fruit, got up long enough to take a few pieces on toothpicks, then sat back down.

“I suggest Bram Stoker’s, Dracula,” Choi said. “He wrote it in the late nineteenth century. However, the first writing considering a vampire was Der Vampir. That was written in the early eighteenth century. Usually the earlier it is, the more accurate it is. Later writings tend to add things for effect.”

“If you like,” Dahlia said, pointing to her laptop, which she brought to learn about the dark web, “I can research that Agent Sartre. There are other members on the team. You don’t need to pile all the tasks upon Agent Wilson. She needs rest right now, not work.”

Alyssa answered Peter first, “Only what I’ve already mentioned. That the Toreadors are artistic and the Ventrue are more the business types. I’ve not gotten a chance to research much more than that.” As much as Alyss loved Peter and her job, she did wonder though why all of those questions, fell on her.

As for Choi’s comment, “Sounds good, I’m sure we can find somewhere to stream that and there’s more than one large screen TV around the house.”

She was grateful to Dahlia but had to wonder how much information the woman could get without access to the dark web. “Well, if you need help just ask.” She really was bad at taking it easy as the hacker wanted to go get her own laptop and dive into that.

Alyssa, may I go research with you?" asked Sartre.

Choi chuckled. “Sartre, we know how obsessed you are with the Little Hacker, but there are others on this team, as Dahlia said. You can address others on the team.”

Dahlia cleared her throat. “ I think Agent Sartre wants some privacy.”

"Better yet Alyssa, I will research The Prince of Chicago for you.”

Dahlia opened up her laptop. Turning it on, she signed into the WiFi.

“Okay Agent Wilson,” she said, “give me a hint how to get into the dark web. And I’ll see what I can find.”

Alyssa leaned over and started to tell Dahlia how to get into the dark web, it required a little more than typing “dark web” into a search engine but it didn’t really take that long. “Now one thing, be as specific as possible as to what you’re looking for, otherwise you can end up in some sites you really won’t want to be in. And anything that mentions a Dr. X, don’t click on it. If you get stuck let me know but other than that, welcome to the dark web.” Alyssa smiled slightly.

Ekaterina looked at Dahlia and then at Agent Powers who was relaxing beside her. She then asked him, “Should we join them in their research Mr. Powers?” Agent Powers gave Ekaterina a smolder and a long pause before he replied, “Sorry that is outside my training. Outside of watching movies, playing video games and checking my email, I work better in the field.” Ekaterina felt bad for the poor guy being left out, but she understood where he was coming from. Then she elegantly said, “Oh then I’ll keep you company then.” as she hooked her arm around his. Agent Power had a shy look on his face as he didn’t know how to respond or talk on the topic.

“Hmmm,” Dahlia intoned as she began typing. She began reading the material that appeared on her screen. After reading several lines, she looked aghast; her face paled.

“No! Really!” she exclaimed. “Cain is the first of the Ventrue. This guy a why they must honor history. They trace their lineage back to the beginning.”

Dahlia caught herself as she was caught up in the information. “I’m sorry, but that just struck a nerve from my research earlier. His son Enoch founded the first city. So, as the line of the first Prince, the Ventrue have an air of superiority over other clans. They work hard to be honorable and genteel. They emphasize leadership. Nobility and privileged, knights and warlords, they have the standard of chivalry and duty.

Dahlia’s fingers gracefully danced about her keyboard as she now began to look for the Toreador. While typing, she was enthralled that the vampires do trace their lineage back to Cain, and that the Kenites survive ved the flood through Noah’s wife. She would need to give them respect for assisting her people conquer Canaan.

“The Toreador are the most beautiful, glamorous, and seductive of the clans,” she announced. “They tend to use this and their love of the arts to lure their prey. They, as well, trace their lineage back to Cain, through Arikel. She was the earth’s first artist. When she painted the clan’s past, present, and future of the Kindred, Cain saw the terrible future of his line and cursed her, casting her from his presence. Through Minoan and Greek history, there is a great Toreador presence. Perhaps, Toreador comes from the story of the Minotaur.”

Dahlia thought the dark web information fascinating. She would need to look deeper into the Kindred.

Alyssa was taking everything Dahlia said in, though it was hard for her to sit there and not work, especially when others were doing the work she normally would be. "Well, then maybe the Ventrue Prince will be easier to deal with, he’ll probably want to negotiate with us in some way or offer us a deal.”

“Maybe,” Choi suggested, “since the Ventrue are concerned with aristocracy, the Princess here should be a part of the meeting.”

“Dahlia, You are providing a great perspective on vampiric history.” said Sartre. He later returned with his laptop and began typing, Looking through the Illuminati intranet for anything that would be useful with dealing with the parents of Chicago. “It seems as if Prince Olaf was a general in the Mexican-American war. He fought for the United States and was known for his tactics. This would explain why the Camarilla Would have had interest in him and allow him to be tired by a “Datura” Who was the acting Prince of Veracruz at the time.” said Sartre. “Alyssa what did you mean by Dr X on the deep web?” asked Sartre.

“He’s a let’s say ummm… less than reputable character. He basically will attempt to take over your computer. Spout ridiculous theories, claim he’s a good. Show disturbing content. That kind of thing.” That coming from a member of one of the factions said a lot.

Ekaterina then replied, "That sounds like the territories run by a cruel dictator. I wonder if it human culture influencing the vampires as well?”

“It appears that most of the Greek culture and that of the Renaissance in France was driven by the Toreador,” Dahlia announced. “They are likely to have members in the music industry, painters, sculptures, actors, and the like.”

Agent Powers then said, "And don’t forget trained killers.”

“Maybe that explains Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga,” Choi jested.

Dahlia looked at Powers. He himself and she were in that mix.

Alyssa breathed a laugh at Choi’s quip. This was all actually pretty fascinating information.

Ekaterina chuckled at Choi’s joke. Then she replied, “If the vampires are among us in the public does to also mean the werewolves are as well?” Agent Powers sipped his smoothie and replied, "Maybe that is why we are all working together now. Perhaps the higherups are desperate enough to bet on us getting along long enough to deal with a calamity level threat.”

Dahlia emphatically stated, “If Kat is part of the meeting, then I go with her.”

“Given that I was the one who received the invitation, it would probably look bad if I don’t go.” No how much she wanted to stay in the van, it was simple etiquette to know that.

He looked towards the hacker. He was concerned about what she had previously endured. Sartre had too much loss already.
He squeezed her hand harder. "May I have a sip of your smoothie Alyssa?”

That meeting was not for some time. Choi thought long and hard as what to do in the mean time.

“I think we should be spending time training for the mission in the meantime. It is best we be prepared for whatever may happen.”

Agent Powers gave Choi a smolder and then asked, "Don’t get me wrong I love training everyday, but how do you plan to train to fight vampires and werewolves? Wouldn’t it be the same as killing people only we use different tools and weapons?”

“Sure,” Alyssa responded to Peter’s request. She had felt the squeeze of her hand but knew it wasn’t a controlling thing, more a concerned thing. It made sense he didn’t want her to go meet with the Prince but Alyssa felt like she should be there.

Alyssa raised a brow at Max’s remark, “Well, vampires and werewolves are quicker than people, so, increasing speed wouldn’t be a bad idea.” She didn’t say “our speed” because the hacker wasn’t really a fighter.

“Speed, agility, dexterity, endurance, and discipline,” Choi emphasized, noticing how close Powers and the Princess were sitting. He grinned. They weren’t trying to hide it.

Ekaterina looked at the stoic Agent Powers and wondered if the young Max inside the fake body had the same expression. He was trained to be a hard core fighter and it reminded her of sone of the intense Templar training she endured. If things went south she would want to be close to Powers for many reason since he was a fearless powerhouse and a loyal guy. She then elegantly asked, "That sounds nice and all but without the use of technology or magic, how are we all to increase our skills overnight?”

“Well, we have today and tomorrow before we meet with the Prince and also research is important, so, that is a lot to squeeze in, in that time but I carving sometime out of the day to do that, is a good idea.” Alyssa looked a Ekaterina, "Maybe, it can be more of a long term thing. I don’t think we can do all of that before meeting the Prince, but I get the feeling we might be here a while.”

Sartre enjoyed sharing the hacker’s smoothie.

Dahlia looked to Choi, Kat, and Alyssa as they spoke. “Well,” she added, “I will spend time meditating on the Kabbalah and getting stronger in its powers. I will also continue research in the dark web.”

Agent Powers replied, “I already ordered silver knuckles, silver bullets and more holy bullets from my father. It should arrive in an hour. That’s all I can prepare for now.” Ekaterina replied, "Mr. Powers is kind enough to order some weapons for me so I am waiting as well.”

“What do you want to do for the rest of the day Alyssa?” asked Sartre, knowing she was tired. He wanted to know of her previous dreams.

Sartre wondered what the dreams could have been, he wondered how the hacker had developed her connection with Prue. It still seemed to be continuing beyond this plane of existence. He thought of ancient Knights Templar observatories. Mapping the stars. Trying to understand the cosmos.

“As much as I hate to admit this, but I’m kind of tired and right now can’t think of doing much.” Alyssa then had an idea. "Oh, you know sitting in the hot tub might be nice. It shouldn’t take long to heat up.”

Posted by : Cindy

“Alyssa in a hot tub?”

In the chip:

“May I join you?”

Alyssa smiled, and responded into the chip to Peter. “I was hoping you would and you don’t have to ask for something like that. Could you get it started?”

Agent Powers was still in his stoic chill mode as he listened to the others. Then as Alyssa mentioned going to the hot tub Ekaterina leaned over to his ear and said seductively, “Shall we take a dip in the pool? We could use some R & R before things get hectic.” Agent Powers was about to respond when Ekaterina hopped into the pool while still holding his hand as if to pull him in with her. She gave him a wave of her finger to gesture him to enter the pool with her. Seeing as she wanted to be close to him again, Agent Powers nodded and hopped into the pool as well. He then pooped up from the water as found Ekaterina’s arms around his neck as she smiled at him. She whispered, “To bad we are not alone. I’ll try to behave.” Agent Powers gave Ekaterina a smolder but under his slime muscular body, young Max was beet red in the face.

“I will.” Sartre said.

Dahlia nodded to Kat and Powers in the pool. She smiled, as she quietly said, “I think they could use privacy.”

Choi was surprised, but not surprised, that Dahlia knew about the two. Then he nodded, “We should give it to them,” he said. “Would you care to discuss last night and where this is leading?”

“I thought you might like to do that,” she responded, as she stood from her chair. “I’ll be waiting for you.”

Dahlia walked from the pool and hurried upstairs. They did have much to discuss, but she was sure the talking would be to a minimum.

Choi grinned, got up from his lounge chair, and nodded to the other lovebirds. He walked to the kitchen, found a pair of wine glasses, and a bottle of wine, then went to her room and knocked.
When the knock came to her door, Dahlia was cozily sitting on the couch, embracing her knees just under her chin. Not wanting to get up, she encouraged Yeong to enter.

Choi placed both glasses in the same hand as the bottle, which took some doing without breaking them. He opened the door, seeing her on the couch in the white swim suit.

“I brought some refreshment,” Choi said with a grin.”

She smiled.

Choi placed the glasses on the table, opened the wine, and poured a glass for each of them. He gave one to Dahlia, which she gratefully accepted.

Taking a sip, Dahlia motioned for Yeong to sit next to her. He did so and took a sip of his own wine.

“Last night was wonderful,” Choi expressed.

“Yes,” Dahlia returned softly, “an experience quite like no other.”

“It was my way of saying,” Choi began to explain, “well, it meant something to me. I see in you a lady that is bright and beautiful. It is attractive, especially when you stopped throwing yourself at me and just being you.”

“Yeong,” Dahlia explained herself, “when I was doing that, I had an objective in my mind. I have meant to use you for information.”

Choi bowed his head. He knew this, which is why he asked her to back off.

Dahlia continued. “No other man had told me to slow down before. They were always in a rush. They didn’t want to get to know me. You did. You wanted to know me, not the role I played. I appreciate that.”

Choi grinned. “So, where do we go from here?”

Dahlia sighed. “As you know, my people want others to be in relationships with other Jews. Kat is in the same situation with Max. She must seek relationships with royalty. In fact, her family insists on arranging for her future.”

Choi frowned as he took a sip, then said, “Not ideal for her happiness.”

“Nor mine,” Dahlia admitted. “If I find joy in a relationship with a non-Jew, I will choose to pursue it.”

Choi raised his glass to a toast. “To us,” he said, “May the relationship blossom as the lotus.”

She smiled and clinked his glass. Both drained their glasses.

Choi raised a brow. He moved closer and kissed Dahlia. “Now what do we do?” he mischievously asked, as his lips caressed her neck.

Dahlia’s weakness was kisses to the neck, but she remained strong. There was so much to do during the day.

“Let’s reserve what you’re thinking for tonight,” she replied with a smile. “Right now, I’ll fill the glasses while you get your laptop. I’ll show you how to access the dark web. We have research to do on the vampires.”

The fact that they were descended from Cain interested her. Dahlia wished to learn as much as she could about them.

In the chip; “Alyssa you need to rest for the rest of the day. We can talk in our room later. I’m curious about previous visions and dreams. I’m so glad you are safe.” said Sartre. Further in the chip in a whisper making sure even Cassinn would have trouble picking it up. "You seem to have developed some sort of psychic connection with Prue Halliwell. How do you think that happened? I don’t think that will go away even though she is no longer on this plane.”

"I don’t know how it happened, maybe it’s connected to the knife but that’s out in my van. I’m not sure, when I asked her if I’d ever see her again Alyssa responded, ‘Never say never.’”

As he got the hot tub ready for the hacker, he decided he would help a little bit by getting into the mind of the Prince of Chicago.

He felt himself being enshrouded by purple mist,

As the mist began to clear, he saw things he was not expecting.

There was a young woman in what looked like ancient Greece or Rome.

She was extremely beautiful, in her twenties.

“What if Hannibal of Carthage comes?”

“He’ll be bringing the Ventrue with him.”

“I have something to protect you Portia” said someone clad in a toga named Minius.

A vampire bared his fangs.

The woman Portia is seen standing in a position of power in a classically crafted type painting.

Lodin is embraced in an alley in Mexico City during the night in the 19th century.

“Alyssa, shove me in the hot tub.” Peter said.

Alyssa shook her head, and responded onto the chip. "You do realize that that hot tub is only about 3 ft deep. You’d crack your head open. The pool - sure but the hot tub - no.”

He stepped into the hot tub. "Hot. But not as much as you Alyssa. I was able to profile The Prince of Chicago.”

“Oh?” Alyssa got into the tub. The hot tub wasn’t that far from the pool and she didn’t know what Peter was alright with the other couple hearing. So, she sat down in the tub and asked into the chip. "What did you find out?”

"The Prince of Chicago was sired by someone from ancient Carthage. They were probably a Ventrue, they were a rival of this other woman I saw. Her name is Portia.” Peter explained.

“Oh, wait I do remember reading that vampires are sired though their own clan, soa Ventrue could only make a Ventrue.” Alyssa commented, as she relaxed in the hot tub.

"Portia seems like a powerful Toreador. " said Sartre. "She is nowhere as beautiful as you, Alyssa.”

Alyssa smiled at Peter, blushing slightly. She moved closer to him in the hot tub. "Thanks and this is nice, being here with you.”

"What would you suggest the team do next?” Peter asked.

“Eat lunch,” Alyssa joked, but was realizing Peter was as much of a workaholic as she was, maybe more. He might not have been the best person to ask to help keep her from working too much. “I think that tonight we should watch those movies, I mentioned, take notes and compare. Choi had a good idea for older movies, so, maybe a list can be worked on. Research maybe after lunch, though, to be honest I might need a nap by then.” Almost drowning does tend to wear a person out.

"I’m not quite sure what we will be able to learn from the horror films. Perhaps something.” Peter said then in the chip: "May I take a nap with the hacker?”

“There’s some truth in most fiction.” Alyssa wasn’t expecting 100% accuracy. “It’s more to get research ideas as we might miss something.” Into the chip, she responded, "I was hoping you’d ask.”

In the chip: "That means yes?”

Alyssa smiled softly, and into the chip said. "Yes.”

Peter swam close to the hacker. In the chip: "Movies and a makeout session? I want to hear about your dreams later.”

“Not necessarily in that order,” She responded, into the chip. "I’m not sure there’s much more I can tell you about them, but alright.” Outloud, Alyssa commented to Peter, “I’m getting hungry. You want to come to the kitchen with me and see what we can find?” It must be near lunchtime, anyway.

"What about hamburgers or cheeseburgers?”

“Can you cook?” Alyssa asked, then leaned closer to Peter and whispered. "I don’t want to disturb Max and Ekaterina’s time together.”

"I can’t cook. But I can order burgers and fish and chips from The Yellow Sign chip shop in London.” Peter explained.

“That’s sounds good. I’ve not had fish and chips in years.” She paused, “Drones are amazing but won’t it be cold by the time it gets here?” Alyssa really only stuck to more local food, maybe 40 minutes away tops.

"I’m sure they would still be warm. To be sure, I’ll have the drones deliver from a local burger place. What kind of burger would you want?” Peter thought of something. He ordered the burgers as well as other needed items. “It’s good to see you relaxing. Your paleness and smallness is attractive.” He began kissing the hacker. Pulling her deeper into the warm water. He wondered what Matt Wilson would think.

“Oh, let’s get some beef, turkey, veggie ones so there’s something for everyone. Small salads on the side, so Max can not be worried that I’m not eating anything healthy.” Alyssa had assumed he was buying lunch for the team, as it would be rude not to. Then she waited as he made the order.

Alyssa returned the kiss, and just went with him into the water

After ordering the burgers Peter said, " Now you kiss. Let’s see what you are thinking, if you don’t mind me getting inside your head.”

“You’ve been there already.” Alyssa responded. She wasn’t hiding anything from him but did she want to bring down the mood. "Considering what just happened to me and what has been happening to me are you sure you want to go there?”

“Well I figure there may be some answers in there, and you don’t want to work on the case right now.” He splashed water playfully pulling her into a hug, "Kiss me first.” Peter responded, "And yes, I want to go there. "I figure a kiss might make things brighter in there. There are answers in there somewhere.” He wanted her to be relaxed and comfortable.

Alyssa smiled slightly and said, “Well, alright.” The hacker kissed him, letting him into her mind.

[/i] As the purple mist disappeared images of blue water and Prue, and panic. It seems as if Alyssa’s trying to shove those things to the back of her mind. Memories of Prue coming to her in dreams, sometimes in a place like a park, sometimes in an area that there’s nothing but it’s never scary and Prue doesn’t say anything. Her nanny taking her to swimming lessons when she was little. Spending time at the pool at her house, and in college but other than when she’s little and her nanny’s there, she’s alone. Showing the pool at her house to Max and telling him he can use it whenever he likes but herself spending almost the entire time working. Always in the back of her mind is the black thing that’s been after her, though, it’s hard to tell if it’s a memory or that thing lingering or maybe a little of both. Alyssa thinking to herself maybe she needs to carry the knife always with her, and wanting to see what it can do.[/i]

“Prue seems to come a lot in your dreams. It’s interesting that you sometimes meet in a park but don’t say anything. The dark, whatever it is, is still there in the background, but I think you feel a little bit more confident now. You may want to experiment with Prue’s blade. “May I tease you later tonight, after we’re not both covered in chlorine?” he asked.

“She does. I’m not sure why she never spoke until today, in the visions of her.” Alyssa sighed, then addressed the black thing that had been her nightmare for over 5 years now. "It’s always there. It always feels like it’s lingering, but just unable to attach itself to me completely. " When he asked if he could tease her later. She nodded slightly, "Yes, but only if I’m up for it.”

"I mean joke with you. The burgers should be here soon.” Peter explained.

Alyssa had to laugh at the difference between what he meant and what she thought he meant. “Oh, then we should get dried off then and start putting things out in the kitchen.” She started getting out of the hot tub. As she walked past the pool, if Max and Ekaterina weren’t too engaged in each other Alyssa would let them know lunch would be there shortly. She then texted the rest of the group, got dried off and waited for Peter to be ready.

Peter got dressed and moved into the kitchen.

Sartre looked for Alyssa and the others in the kitchen.

Alyssa came downstairs, after changing, slightly after Peter. She looked at the TV screen in the kitchen that was set to the outside cameras. "Looks like the foods arriving.”

Sartre sat down. "I ordered the hickory bacon burger. What burger did you order Alyssa? I know you ordered a salad.”

“Just a bacon cheddar burger, of course I’ll add some of the fixings that came with all the burgers.” Alyssa then said. “We should go outside and get the food.” She headed for the door.

Peter followed the hacker, as to pick up the other supplies.

Alyssa went outside and started gathering what she could carry, once they got everything inside the hacker set to work laying out the food, and wondering if they’d be eating alone.

Choi and Dahlia had only gotten two more clans, or in one case what seemed a non-clan checked out when they received the text from Alyssa. Dahlia was a little perturbed, wanting to learn more. She shrugged.

Choi shook his head, seeing her frustration. He leaned into her and gave her a comforting kiss on the cheek. “We’ll do more later.”

She gave an affirmative nod, then stood up. Dahlia put on a swimsuit covering, chuckling at Yeong. “Are you going to lunch in your Speedo?”

Choi grinned, responding, “I’ll change as you head down.

Dahlia walked down to find where the food was located. “We’ve been researching more clans,” she said. “So far, we researched the Banu Haqim. They seem to be the adjudicators of the vampires. They have a thirst for vampiric blood and justice. Judges, sheriffs and hitmen are included in their numbers.”

She paused, then added, “Choi discovered the Caitiff were those distrusted by others. They are outcasts, mostly because the vampire lineage is not in them. The Caitiff are repulsed by the compulsions of their race. Choi and I are certain the vampire we met at the Library in Gary was a Caitiff.”

“He said he was a Toreador.” said Sartre.

“I realize that Agent Sartre,” Dahlia forcefully replied. “There are two ways to be Caitiff. One, is to be an outcast because the sire recognizes the vampiric lineage is not within one. The second, is secretly. This is one that knows the ins and outs of their clan, but hides the repulsion they feel. They feel apart from the clan because of this inner disgust. This man spoke of this repulsion. I believe he is of the second definition. He chose not to lure humans through the arts. He took of only animal blood.”

“Interesting.” Alyssa thought for a moment. "He didn’t happen to leave a way to get in touch with him, did he?”

“He ran out of the library pretty quickly.” said Sartre." It was almost as if some form of superspeed. He kept saying someone was after him.”

Dahlia looked at Sartre with a wooden stare. “How would you know this Agent Sartre? Choi and I didn’t reveal everything from the meeting. We’re you tailing us?”

Choi entered, now fully dressed. He overheard the last bit of the conversation as he entered.

“Sartre here probably had his federales keeping tabs on other members,” he joked. “Mr. Shepherd did say that Kolchak was keeping an eye on him. This is evidently done through the guy Shepherd feared…” he shrugged his shoulder, “Maybe. Some of what he said seemed cryptic at the moment. He said nothing of werewolves at war with vampires. Only vampires against vampires.”

“Let’s just say I can read things sometimes.” said Sartre.

Alyssa remained quiet, she understood why Sartre knew what he knew but it wasn’t her place to say. Into the chip, to Peter she commented. “If you’re going say things you shouldn’t know then maybe you should explain to them more about your ability or they’ll never trust you enough to work with you.” She had been surprised Peter had blurted out what he did but it was out there now. Alyssa had laid out the food and was just waiting on the others.

“I can see into peoples minds if need be but it is a risk when I do it.” Peter explained. "If unsuccessful there can be problems.”

At hearing this, Dahlia’s eyes narrowed. “So, you’ve been reading our minds? Doodling around in brains without our permission? How dare you!”

Dahlia marched herself from where everyone was gathered to eat. Suddenly, she wasn’t hungry anymore. She forcefully walked up the steps, shouting, “I’m done with this!”

Choi looked at Sartre. “Really?” he questioned. “Good job, big boy! You say your psychic; I say your psycho! “

He looked at Alyssa. “Be careful with Loverboy, here!” After a second pause, Yeong looked toward the steps, running his fingers through his hair. “I’ll go see what I can do,” he said. With that said, Choi quietly hurried upstairs. He wasn’t sure what to say, but he’d try.

Once the other two left, Alyssa furled her brow at Peter. “I’m confused and I don’t know why I didn’t think to ask you before. Can you control it? I mean the little glimpses you get. I realized you always ask me, but that’s a deep dive. So, do those more minor images just come to you or were you purposedly reading their minds without permission?” How he answered was really important, and Alyssa wasn’t sure if he understood just how much.

“I only use that when it’s needed and against those that needed to be used against, I used it on Lodin, the visions were from his mind. Higher-level vampires have that ability. Actually; before Choi let me finish, the vampire at the library once used a similar technique on the current Prince of Indianapolis Hackmaster 9000. He was “torpored” for it, meaning a stake was put through his heart. This incapacitates the vampires or kindred. His heart was removed, this makes them less likely to frenzy, that’s basically where they go crazy and gain superstrength, but have no control over their actions. They refer to that as “the beast within”. He was then shipped off to Detroit for some sort of training. it’s actually dangerous when I do it. I wouldn’t do it to any of you, it can be useful when trying to understand what someone involved in the supernatural might be thinking.” said Sartre "Well I did it to you, but I asked first.” In the chip: “The one time I did not ask I did not know if something paranormal was going on. I stopped The Dark, remember? You told me you were glad that I came for you.”

“When were you able to read Lodin’s mind?” Alyssa wished she knew more about his ability. "Don’t you have to be near the person?”

"No, it can be done at a long distance. Failure can result in extreme headaches and nosebleeds as well as incorrect information. Extreme failure can result in…“ Peter paused before continuing. "The program was founded when J Edgar Hoover was looking for what he perceived to be a serial killer in the 1950s. It is a secret department of the behavioral analysis unit. “There are rumors of other secret departments operating in the bureau.”

Alyssa nodded and then texted, Choi Can I talk to you? I have some info that might help the situation.

"Alyssa, can we head to your room?” Peter asked.

“Let me grab some food and then sure.” She quickly got a burger and a bag of chips, deciding she needed junk food more than a salad and started to head upstairs hoping that Choi would contact her back. She was really exhausted already from the day and this had just added to it.

Meanwhile Agent Powers and Ekaterina had just finished getting dressed after a rather passionate game of “hide the zucchini” in her room. Poor Agent Powers was unsure what to say or do after being used as a love toy by the princess. Behind closed doors she was quite aggressive and naughty as she took advantage of Agent Powers’ innocence. Ironically they missed all the drama that happened earlier downstairs. As they left their room they heard a nearby door closed. However they didn’t see anyone in the hallway so they figured they missed whoever it was. Then the two made their way downstairs to get some food. As they came down they saw Alyssa and Peter.

Alyssa was walking out of the room with some food. “Lunch is set up. Feel free to help yourselves.” She was about to leave but then stopped. “Actually can I talk to both of you for a moment?” She then looked at Peter wondering if he’d stay or leave but thinking this might be easier if he wasn’t here.

Sartre headed to their room.

Agent Powers gave Alyssa a smolder as he was not sure what if this was related to what Ekaterina and he were doing not to long ago. Then he looked at Ekaterina who elegantly replied, “Of course. Did you learn something new about the mission?” Seeing Ekaterina was willing to talk he nodded and replied, “Uh sure.”

“No, this isn’t about the mission but it is about the team.” Alyssa explained. “It came out, to Dahlia and Choi, that Peter’s ability is profiling people. In essence he can read minds. He knew things about the meeting in the library that Choi and Dahlia had with the vampire that he couldn’t have known. Well, long story short, Dahlia or I’m sure both of them probably, mistakingly think that Peter read their minds. He actually read the mind of the vampire that they met with. Well,Dahlia stormed off up to her room, Choi went after her.” Alyssa paused, "I don’t know if Dahlia will believe that Peter didn’t read her mind, I’m not even sure what to say to her. Either way you both needed to know what was going on as it might affect the team. Ekaterina I know you and Dahlia are close so especially you needed to know.”

Alyssa got a response from Choi, but the “not now” wouldn’t sit. She responded. Well, you might be interested to know he didn’t read her mind or yours. Not knowing if he’d even bother to read it. At least they could have waited for an explanation.

Agent Powers gave Alyssa a smolder and paused for a bit. Then he looked at Ekaterina then back at Alyssa as he replied, “I see. That does explain a lot.” Ekaterina raised an eyebrow at Alyssa and then Agent Powers as she asked him, “Did you know about this?” Agent Powers shook his head no and replied, “ Nope. This is my first team mission and I don’t know much about anyone. My job is to protect Alyssa and help the team complete their mission.” Ekaterina looked at Agent Powers as she was checking on his expressions to see if he was lying but could clearly see that Agent Powers was an open book to her. Then she elegantly replied to Alyssa, “Well this does complicate things.”

“It does, but profiling isn’t a safe thing to do. It’s less safe when someone doesn’t have permission because failures can lead to all sorts of complications, some possibly life threatening. No one uses an ability like that without the precaution of asking, if it can be helped. He couldn’t go ask the vamp and took a huge chance but the team no, there’s no reason to take that chance.” She hoped she was making sense.

Agent Powers rubbed his chin as he pondered a bit then asked, “I am not worried about myself since you already have my records but I can see why it would be a problem for the Templars and Dragons.” Ekaterina elegantly nodded and replied, “ Indeed Mr. Powers you are correct. It would be troublesome if my family secrets were leaked as well as my contacts in the Templars and that goes double for Dahlia.” Ekaterina sighed and then said, “I am concerned Mr. Sartre has painted a rather large target on his back by even bringing this up at this point in time. We may need an arbiter and a contract of sorts to keep the peace. So does Mr. Sung and Ms. Eun-Ji know of this yet?”

"I don’t think anyone has spoken to Eun-Ji in a while. Sung has not been updated as far as I know. I, for obvious reasons, can’t be the arbiter. The only person who might fit the role is Sung, unless we bring someone in from the outside. Like trying to get another agent here from The Council of Venice.”

Agent Powers rubbed the back of his head as he sighed. Then he said, “Well if this can’t be settled peacefully then there is a big chance it will end in violence. Even though Sartre is an Illuminati, I was only tasked to protect you Alyssa.” Ekaterina elegantly smirked and said, “Let’s hope we can resolve this peacefully since we still have the vampires and werewolves to deal with.”

“There shouldn’t be a need for violence. Especially, being Peter really didn’t do anything wrong. I mean he has an ability that he hasn’t used against any of us. Choi, I’m pretty sure ignored my last text, so clearly it probably won’t matter what I say on the issue to them.” Alyssa paused. "But personally, I don’t know about the rest of you but I didn’t have any choice on what powers I got when I swallowed the bee. I doubt any of us did, which includes Peter.”

Ekaterina elegantly nodded and then replied, “I understand your perspective, but could you still see it that way if one of the Dragons or Templars hacked your computers or even your mind? Such an invasion of privacy can be seen as a threat by such circumstances.” Then she looked at Agent Powers and asked, “Agent Powers how many hackers have you had to hunt down in your service?” Agent Powers rubbed his chin as he counted in his head and then answered, “Oh at least 200. They were a combination of information thieves, Shadow Brokers, Cyber Terrorists and spies. My father deemed them a threat to the Illuminati and the world so I tracked them down and killed them.” Ekaterina then looked at Alyssa as she said, “I am sure there are others Agents like Mr. Powers in the Dragons and Templars, who would find Agent Sartre as a similar threat.” Ekaterina was being very diplomatic with Alyssa in hopes to get her point across.

“So, am I a threat because I can hack everyone’s computer?” Then the hacker turned that question around. “Or aren’t we all threats to each other, in one way or the other? So, should I be tracked down? Should we all be?” She paused. "I realize you’re trying to be diplomatic but it sounds an awful lot like we can never really trust each other - which leads to the question of how can we all possibly continue to work together?” Alyssa wasn’t mad, actually her voice was calm but logically one thing led to the next.

Ekaterina nodded elegantly as she answered, “And that is most likely the same thoughts Dahlia and Choi are contemplating as we speak. I cannot speak for the Dragons but I know enough about my friend Dahlia who has a lot of secrets that should remain buried and never see the light of day. I myself struggle with being both a member of the Royal family in the spotlight as well as a Templar working in the shadows. For a long time I thought I was not allowed to be happy but Dahlia made it a point to allow me brief moments of joy in my life. I cherish those few moments where the shackles of my position are removed and I am saddened knowing that I will have to put them on again. In my world betrayal, theft, gossip, paparazzi and duty are common burdens I must deal with on a daily basis, which is why I can remain calm in this matter. So knowing that we are all treading on thin ice, how do we recover from this news and continue our mission?” Agent Powers replied, “Wow. You both are pretty smart.”

Alyssa sighed and shook her head, "I’m afraid this is where my lack of having to deal with a lot of people, and certainly never having to mediate between them leaves me at a loss. I mean we could have an agreement of some sort but how will that work, if they don’t trust him?”

Agent Powers nodded and replied,”Same here. I am also new to working in a team.” Ekaterina then said, “Understandable. It is not easy to trust a stranger. We have some options we can explore in a group discussion such as making a strict contract punishable by death, have Agent Sartre confess a way to block his skills or have Agent Sartre share an equally dangerous secret with the team to restore the balance of the team. Sadly we lack the time to resolve this issue and need to discuss it with the others.” Agent Powers nodded in agreement and said, “It sounds reasonable if everyone agrees.”

“What dangerous secret? This is the thing. All he knows is what the vampire showed him. I think he’s the one that exposed a dangerous secret and not everyone else.” Alyssa replied. "The balance is against Peter, so, how would confessing anything be fair?” She thought. “Maybe we should all confess something.” Glancing at Max, "Well, Max you might be exempt. I’m not sure you have much to confess to.”

With everything, Sung just sat more in the background, looking and listening to what people were saying. To Sung, they all said a lot about themselves. Now, he is a little more understanding of the team, but just a little. Sung continued to tear apart his food with his chopsticks. He just wanted to see if he could eat a burger that way. It was slow but working.

Sung understood how some could feel validated by the whole psychic thing. He did not think anything of it. If it got too invasive, Sung would deal with it one-on-one. The others on the team would have to work through it as well. Now, Sung understands something more about the file on Peter.

Sung considered how to deal with someone with that type of ability. The last time he did it, the person was never quite the same. Sung took a deep breath and meditated for a moment. As he let his breath out slowly, he could feel some tension and anger in the house. With this information, we might need a team meeting to settle the problem.

Alyssa hadn’t noticed Sung slip into the kitchen, it was just like he was suddenly there. That was disarming, but she figured if and when the man had anything to say he would. Alyssa put her food down, for once she had lost her appetite. It felt very much like the walls were closing in around Peter and what if he had to leave the group, what then? Their kind of relationship was just so new to her, she didn’t know what to expect.

Sartre just waited for Alyssa in their room.

All illuminati agents receive this on their phone: "Eye see you. Do you not know standards and practices? The days of inter-factional fighting and putting poison in each other’s absinthe ended in the 19th century with the founding of the Council of Venice.

You don’t make the rules, The Council regardless of what they think does not either. And remember; you bees are extremely hard to kill. The board decides what happens to illuminati agents if they perceive there is a problem.

Personally; I prefer a stun gun if I have to deal with things.

Factional conflicts are to be dealt with at the three designated areas of competition for supernatural landmarks as directed by the Council. These are Stonehenge, Fusang Projects and the Mayan ruins in Mexico.

If any of you new agents keep up talk like this, I’m going to have to refer you to Q&A.

Ciao Ciao.

Kiersten Geary.

Agent Powers gave Sung a smolder as he looked to see what he would do. Then after seeing no reaction from him he gave Alyssa and Ekaterina a smolder as he looked at their reaction to noticing Sung. At that point Ekaterina saw the expression on Alyssa’s face and nodded before she said, “I had a very similar feeling when I first learned about the dirty secrets my family had, however I was alone at the time with no one to rely upon till I was recruited into the Templars. You happen to be more fortunate since you have support from others. Mr. Powers here is both supportive, fearless and loyal to a fault. It is easy to find comfort in his presence.” Agent Powers smirked as he was a bit embarrassed by the compliment. Then Ekaterina said, “I have a similar friendship with Dahlia who has been through a lot for me. Due to my difficult past I have become very selective with my choice of friends and I have a feeling you share a similar situation.”

Agent Powers then looked at his phone and saw the message from Geary and was a bit confused by the timing of the message. He looked around to see if they were being spied on then looked at Alyssa as he asked, "Alyssa how often do you get messages from headquarters?”

Alyssa could only nod to Ekaterina, but the difference was she didn’t really feel like she had friends to confide in. Not about Peter. There was Peter himself and that wasn’t the same.

Alyssa glanced at her phone. “I just got a message from there as well.” Not surprised by it.

As Choi climbed the steps, he heard Dahlia’s door slam shut. He grimaced, never seeing her this angry.

Arriving at her door, he knocked, “Dahlia?” he probed. “It’s Yeong; may I come in?”

She opened the door, then returned to her bed. Upon it was her suitcase. She had begun to pack, getting ready to leave.

Seeing this, Choi softly spoke. “Dahlia, you can’t leave. Not now. See this through.”

“I cannot afford to have my mind read like that,” Dahlia fumed. “There are things up here,” she pointed to her head, “that cannot be known.”

“I know,” Choi agreed. “But the others seem to be okay with others knowing.”

Dahlia was about to say something, but thought better of it. Instead, she quietly sat on the bed and patted the spot next to her. Choi sat next to her.

“We know of their relationships, yes,” Dahlia agreed. “We do not know their intimate moments.” She looked Choi in the eyes. “Yeong, that creep has the ability to know everything we did last night. All the details. are you fine with that?”

Choi shrugged, “Well, no, I’m not. When you put it that way, I understand. We’ll tell him there has to be limits.” He got a text from Alyssa, to which he replied: Not now!

“How can we monitor those limits?” Dahlia asked. “It’s not like we have a quality assurance in mind reading.” She took his hand. “It’s not just our intimacies.” She paused. “In my mind are national secrets.”

Choi’s brows arose. “As in Israeli secrets?”

“Yes,” Dahlia affirmed. “No one knows the fullness of what I am about to tell you.”

Choi looked questioningly at Dahlia.

“In my down time,” Dahlia explained, “I contract with my country. I work for Mossad.”

Choi ignored the reply he believed was from Alyssa. His main concern was Dahlia at the moment.

“Even the Princess doesn’t know?” he asked.

“She knows I do jobs for my country,” Dahlia admitted, “but the extent she doesn’t know. Yeong, I am a contracted assassin with Mossad.”

Choi’s jaw dropped. He didn’t know what to say. He was falling for a killer.

“My code name is Azrael,” she admitted, “the Angel of Death. Now, you fully understand and cannot let anyone know. I trust you Yeong.”

Choi didn’t know what to do at this point. He couldn’t think of nothing to say. Or do. So, he hugged her, then softly spoke.

“I understand. Your secret is safe.”

“So, help me pack?” She asked.

“I’ll help you put thongs, I mean things away,” Choi insisted. “We will work this out. Together. No, I don’t trust the man either. I don’t see what the Little Hacker sees in him. But I swear to you, Dahlia,” Choi made an oath, “if he harms you in any way, I will slice his head off. Please stay.”

Choi’s mind suddenly remembered his vision of Dahlia and thinking he would need to protect or save her. Now he understood why she came to his vision.

Dahlia at Choi’s attempt at humor. At least, she thought it was humor. Maybe it was a Freudian slip. Anyhow, she was concerned with Ekaterina as well.

“Kat needs to be a part of this as well,” she emphatically stated. “We cannot have. Agent Sartre revealing royalty secrets.”

Choi readily agreed. He smiled. “Are you ready to head back down?”

“Yes,” she said with thought. “I’m really going to need to show my appreciation tonight.”

“That’s not why I did this,” Choi remarked, “but it does sound nice!”

“Let’s go,” Dahlia suggested as she stood, taking his hand. He stood and together they returned downstairs.

Posted by : Cindy

Dahlia and Choi returned downstairs. They both appeared humble after talking together.

“Dahlia has decided to stay,” Choi quietly spoke. “However, there has to be an understanding for all of our sakes.” This was stated a little more stern than he would have liked it to be.

Alyssa glanced at Choi, “Dahlia I’m glad you’re staying. Well, Peter is upstairs. So, before I speak to him. What understanding? And you both should know he didn’t read the mind of anyone here. He got that info from the vampire you met with.” Alyssa had no idea if they believed that.

Choi rolled his eyes, and Dahlia looked in disbelief. It was Dahlia who spoke.

“We assumed that he was with you all that time. It was late when we returned from the library that evening. We headed to our respective rooms.” She thought a little more. “Tell me, why doesn’t he speak up much during our meetings. Could it be, he’s searching our minds for information we may have inadvertently left out or thought unimportant to matter. And, when he does speak, he addresses only you, as if we’re not even present. He doesn’t seem like a team player.”

“He was. What does where he was have to do with anything?” Alyssa wasn’t understanding. Dahlia then asked about the meetings. “It could have to do with how socially awkward he is. He’s more socially awkward than anyone I’ve ever met.” Alyssa shook her head. “Like some of our abilities his takes effort. But it’s also dangerous for him, it can even lead to death if unsuccessful. We would have seen signs like nose bleeds or worse if he was doing it at the meetings, at least that would have happened sometimes. Would any of you use an ability that could kill you, repeatedly on people?” Alyssa was getting frustrated. “You don’t believe him, but do you believe me? I mean I could hack information out about any of you. Yet, I’m not being accused of doing that. So, what’s the difference. Ekaterina has her little spies, correct. I’m not accusing her of spying on all us.” Alyssa sighed. “Really we have abilities and skills.we can use against each other. So, anything we agree on, has to include all of that.” Alyssa realized she went off on a tangent, but the entire thing seemed like everyone vs Peter.

“Oh,” Choi stated, “I agree. However, Dahlia’s question is valid. If Sartre was with you, how could he read a vampire who had just left us?”

“He can do it remotely. But it’s difficult. Apparently, the vampire has a similar ability. I think he let Peter in to his mind. Permission still comes with dangers but it’s less dangerous.” Alyssa took a breath. “I know he wasn’t spending that night rummaging through your minds because he was busy rescuing me.” She hadn’t wanted to say anything but felt back into a corner. Alyssa turned to Max, "Sorry, I didn’t tell you but there was nothing you could have done about it. It was a psychic attack.

“A psychic attack?” Choi said with raised brows, wondering if it was connected to Sartre’s psychic abilities. Maybe he was playing Alyssa. Choi decided to leave it alone.

“So let me get this straight,” Dahlia replied. “This vampire that we interviewed reached out mentally to Agent Sartre, even though he didn’t know who or where he was, and Agent Sartre was able to receive it?”

“Yes,” Alyssa responded to Dahlia. “I don’t know exactly how all of that part of it works but it seems like they were able to connect even without having met. It’s possible the vampire read your minds and got info on the team. I mean I would think powers like that would affect vamps less than humans.” Alyssa explained.

In the chip, Peter asked: “Alyssa are you alright?”

Alyssa replied into the chip."Yes, I’m trying to smooth the situation over.”

In the chip: Alyssa can you come to our room? My guess is it’s not going well." said Sartre.

“It’s not and that’s why I can’t. I’ll be up as soon as I can.” Alyssa replied into the chip.

In the chip: "See you when you get here.” Peter said.

Agent Powers gave Alyssa a smolder before he asked, “Wait you were attacked by a psychic? Who was it and how can I protect you from that if you don’t tell me?” He put his hands on his hips as he looked annoyed.

“It wasn’t that a psychic attacked me. I was attacked in my mind by a …a evil entity. It’s been happening since my father disappeared, didn’t stop after he was found but I had a reprieve for a few months” Alyssa closed her eyes, it was clearly hard to talk about. "The portal at the Halliwell’s house. You protected me from that but didn’t you wonder why it came directly for me?”

Agent Powers sighed as he rubbed his forehead. Then he said, “ I get that you are going through a lot of stuff but I can’t protect you from the unknown or yourself. I know Sartre is also looking after you but I can’t do my job if you hold out on me. I know I lack the power to fight psychic abilities but if they have a physical body I can destroy them. Keep in mind I have a lot of experience in that field.”

Choi added, “You can count on more than your Illuminati buddies, Little Hacker.” There was an uncomfortable pause, then Choi continued, “So, shall we get this truce taken care of?”

“I know, I’m sorry for not telling you. It’s going to sound odd but I didn’t want you to be upset over not being able to do anything, in that circumstance.” Alyssa, had thought she had done the right thing in not telling him but even to her, looking back at it now, that sounded not like her most brilliant idea. “I promise I’ll tell you from now on.” Hearing Choi’s words, she looked at him and nodded. “Thank you for that.”

On to the actual matter at hand. "Truce, yes. What did you have in mind?”

Dahlia thought it over. In her mind, this had to be for all on the team. “We all sign a contract not to use our abilities on each other unless it involves healing or empowering them.”

Choi shrugged. “Sounds good.”

“I’m good with that,” Alyssa commented, and started to stand up. “If everyone else is good with it. I’ll let Peter know.” The hacker waited to hear from Max and Ekaterina before heading upstairs.

In the chip, Peter asked Alyssa: "How’s it going?”

"We’re deciding on an agreement that we don’t use our powers on any team member unless it’s for healing or to empower them. And it’s for everyone.” Alyssa responded into the chip.

In the chip: "I agree to that.”

Choi looked up at Sung, seemingly taking in everything while eating. “Master Sung?”

Alyssa texted Peter, she wasn’t really allowed to tell the non Illuminati about the chips, so. She texted him that she was covering for the chips, and to text her back in a moment. Then it was just to wait on Sung.

Looking at Choi, Sung shook his head. “Yes, I am fine with the idea,” he replied, looking at them. " I am glad you worked that out on your own. If this team keeps this up, I will be out of a job,” Sung said in a joking tone. Sung wondered if that was going to be true. He was here to watch over the Dragons and the team as a whole. Sung wondered how long it would take for the team to outgrow him.

Alyssa glanced down at her phone. “Peter is good with the idea, as well. We should have something formal written up, as well. That way we can all sign it.” Alyssa was willing to do that herself, though she felt exhausted from the day’s events. She had no way of knowing how much she seemed tired to everyone else so, in Alyssa fashion, the hacker volunteered. "I can type it up, then send it to everyone. You can all look it over and note any changes that need to be made and then we’ll have a final draft which everyone can sign. It shouldn’t take that long.”

Sung raised an eyebrow, looking at Alyssa. Like most of them, she was good at hiding her feelings. The fatigue was starting to show. With their training, they were all taught to push until they could go more. Sometimes, that would be the difference between life and death. The contract was not as important at this moment as their agreement.

“Alyssa, get some rest. We can discuss the contract later, right now. The agreement is more important. Rest. I do not give orders, but in this case, I am telling you to get some sleep. We can deal with it before we head out.” said Sung, not leaving any space for debate. “If anyone has a problem with this?” He asked more like a challenge.

Dahlia shrugged her shoulders. “I am a person of my word,” she said. “Would there be any kosher food left?”

“Possibly,” said Choi, “If Powers hasn’t gotten to that first. Anything left, Big Guy?”

Agent Powers gave Choi and Dahlia a smolder and then Ekaterina elegantly said, “Relax you two. I helped Agent Powers stock the fridge so there is a lot of kosher food in there if you want something else.” Agent Powers gave Ekaterina a smolder and then nodded as he replied, “Yeah Ekaterina is very smart about that stuff.” Then Agent Powers phone buzzed and he checked it to see his delivery was ready. He excused himself as he went outside and then came back in with several boxes that he brought into the room. Ekaterina asked, “Is that the order for weapons and ammunition Mr. Powers?” Agent Powers nodded as he opened a box up and pulled a box of (50) 9mm bullets and handed them to Ekaterina. He then asked, “Will that work for you?” She elegantly smiled as she replied, "Yes thank you.”

Sung shook his head again in amazement. "Guns, they are loud and indiscriminate in the wrong hands, you guys almost shot me twice in the last fight. Make sure you know where you are pointing those things in the next fight, please, " commented Sung, not looking impressed by the bullets. “Sword has more of a civil edge. It is quiet and makes things more personal,” Sung remarked with a glint of satisfaction in his eyes.

Agent Powers looked at Sung with a smolder then cocked his head to the side before he replied, “True they are noisy and make stealth pointless. However there are times when melee combat won’t work. In my past missions I use whatever works to complete my mission. Sometimes its a blade, sometimes its a bomb, sometimes its a gun and under extreme situations I am stuck using a tree, a rock, silverware, cookware and even my fist. Don’t get me wrong I know everyone has their preference when it comes to killing the bad guys and monsters but I just roll with it. But since we know the monsters do have a weakness I prefer to exploit that when I have to throw down with them. These bullets are silver and according to my father will do a lot of damage to a werewolf whether we shoot them or shove the bullets down their throat.” Ekaterina gasped at Agent Powers’ response. She was not sure how Sung would respond.

“That’s a true statement, Agent Powers. I have to do the same, even using my Yumi bow for long-range fighting. You are right; everyone has their expertise. I just ask you not to shoot me in the back,” Sung said with a grin, half joking. Sung looked like he was thinking, then looked at the others. Do you have sound suppressors?" I do not know much about them other than they suppress the noise of the gun," admitted Sung asking the others.

Agent Powers rubbed his chin for a bit as he pondered what Sung had said. Then he gave him a smolder before saying, “You know I completely forgot about suppressors since I was always limited to what I could carry into my missions. But after remembering our fight in the cave I do remember how loud the guns were with the echo. So now that you mention it I should order some from my father. Since I have 9mm shells already I’ll have him send me some 9mm automatic pistols with clips and suppressors along with a suppressor for my holy gold shotgun. Thanks Sung.” Then Agent Powers began texting his father for the next order and as he was doing so Ekaterina gave him a few more suggestions to add to the list.

“It is no problem, Agent Powers. That is why I am here,” replied Sung with a small smile. Now, let’s all get some rest. If you need to, it is going to be a long night, I would think, with what we are planning," said Sung, finishing his fries and drink.

Alyssa nodded to Sung, not even trying to argue with the man because it seemed as if she would have lost that argument. To Dahlia’s question about the Kosher food. “Yes, the Kosher food is there.” Pointing it out. The woman then got up. “You all know where I’ll be.” Alyssa left the kitchen and headed upstairs.

Alyssa finally arrived back at their room, closing the door behind herself. She said to Peter, "Well, things are better and the agreement will help.”

“I’ll agree to anything. What the hell was that?” Peter asked. “You need to lay down and relax, My Hacker." he said while stroking her hair. “Are you OK Alyssa?”

“Dahlia and Choi, but I think especially Dahlia, thought you had read their minds. I had to convince them that you hadn’t. It wasn’t easy though, I had to explain that you were busy rescuing that night. So, now they all know about the evil that follows me around.” Alyssa said. “I promised Max I’d tell him if it happens again. And Choi offered to help me. Anyway, I can only hope I explained enough about your ability that they understood. Then the agreement was brought up, as we all have abilities we could use against one another. I think it’s a good idea.” Alyssa said. “Yes, I’m fine. Just very tired.” She went over and sat down on the bed.

“I think it’s a good idea. Let’s get you out of these.” As Peter removed her shirt, he said.
“We don’t need relationship advice from you!” he said jokingly as he touched her nose. He got undressed, moved to help her with her pants."Let’s just lay here Alyssa."He turned on the fan.

She was going to lay down for a moment, then get into something to sleep in. She was still in about what she had on when wearing her bikini. But before Peter even finished getting ready she had fallen asleep.

He kissed her and fell asleep.
Dahlia and Choi ate before heading upstairs to do more research on vampire clans. Dahlia appreciated the way Choi helped her solve the issue she had. The relationships was beginning to blossom.

The Brujah clan were the opposite of the Banu Hakim. They were true anarchists, labeling themselves as freedom fighters, although it was sometimes difficult to determine for whose freedom they fought.

The Lasombra were power hungry. These seemed to Choi to be most like the Sicilian Mafia. They would stamp anyone out to get to the top.

The Gangrel could easily adapt to their surroundings, whether city or wilderness. They had an adept skill of shapeshifting to adapt to their situation. Often, they tended to get lost in their animalistic instincts. Dahlia thought of them much like the Skinwalkers of the American West Native American lore.

The Hecate were into dead things. Their involvement in spirit summoning developed from this seeming non-vampiric trait.

The Malkavian were knowledge seekers, delving into to the truth of the universe. They are constantly seeking visions of things of which most minds have been able to handle, which has caused many fractured minds within their ranks, leading to many prophetic ramblings.

The Ministry seeks to liberate themselves and others from whatever they think may bind them. They know everything has a price tag. Whatever that may be, the Ministry will find it.

The Nosferatu are horribly disfigured. They tend to hang out in the darkest of places, such as the sewers, instead of appearing in public, which would horrify the best of mortals. This clan has been utilized as spies because of their clandestine nature.

It was nearing 6:00 PM when the two reached this point. Neither had any idea of just how many different clans of vampires there were. The research was exhausting, yet exhilarating because they were doing it together.

They decided to shower and go out for a meal. After the meal, dessert would be served in Dahlia’s room.

Evening approached the darkened city. In the confines of this mansion there was security on the outside, darkness and depravity could be Lurking at every intersection.

Sartre had ordered everyone minus Dahlia and Choi, a filet mignon.

“So; where do you all suggest we go from here?”

He looked around the table at the team, giving the hacker a smirk.

By the time Alyssa had woken up from her nap, evening was quickly approaching. She had taken a shower and gotten cleaned up, then went downstairs. Peter had taken to ordering steaks for everyone, along with baked potatoes with toppings on the side, salad, and rolls. Looking up at the monitors, Alyssa mentioned that Choi’s car was gone, it was likely him and Dahlia had gone to dinner.

It took about 40 minutes for the food to arrive, then they let everyone who was there that dinner was ready.

As night drew near they sat around the table discussing things, but Alyssa didn’t understand Peter’s question. “What do you mean?” Alyssa paused. "We investigate, meet with the Prince, figure out what we need to do after that.”

"Do you mean investigate the Prince of Gary, or do you mean The Prince of Chicago? " Peter asked.

“Both and really anything we can find out about vampires and werewolves.” Alyssa replied, taking a bite of her steak

“Can you look into ‘The Imbued’ and ‘The Heralds’? They were mentioned at the theater.” asked Sartre.

Moments later Ekaterina led Agent Powers down the stairs as they smelled the food. As usual Agent Powers was hungry and Ekaterina found it amusing. They were talking about different ways to fight monsters based on movies, games, and comic books. Then as they entered the dining room to see the food and the others talking over a steak meal. Ekaterina elegantly smiled as she said, “Oh what a lovely spread. Thank you for dinner.”

Agent Powers gave the people and table a smolder before he nodded and said, “Smells great.”

Then they took their seats as Ekaterina asked, “So, is this just a nice dinner or are we having a meeting as well?”

Agent Powers just started cutting his steak as he listened.

“Well, we can’t have a meeting. Dahlia and Choi went out. I’m guessing for dinner. But we were discussing things, like what else needs to be done.” Alyssa responded. "Peter just asked me to look into the ‘Imbued’ and the ‘Heralds’. And yes, Peter, I will certainly do that, but I really need to up the security system first.”

“I must watch you set up the security systems Alyssa!” Peter said.

“If you want, but it’ll mostly be me sitting at my computer.” Alyssa smiled at him.

"It will be interesting.” Sartre remarked.

Ekaterina elegantly asked, “So is Alyssa the only one who does the computer work?”

Agent Powers swallowed his food and nodded as he replied, "Yeah. Eun-Ji sometimes brings in her own computer person but she is MIA a lot.”

“Eun-Ji has a degree in Engineering so that’s where her computer skills mostly go.” Alyssa explained. "And now Dahlia has access to the dark web, which will be helpful. But hacking is my real contribution to the team, work wise. I’m not that great at some of the things others can do.”

Ekaterina elegantly smiled as she looked at Agent Powers who replied, “Yeah and I am only good at punching and breaking things.”

Ekaterina smirked as she said, "Don’t sell yourself short Mr. Powers. My skill lies in hand to hand, fire arms, spying, infiltration and espionage on top of my Princess duties. Our skills may be diverse but do come into play when needed.”

Walking in and taking a seat, Sung greeted everyone. Hearing the question about computers, Sung smiled. “I can turn on a computer; does that count?” Sung said, wondering where that question was going. “Choi and Dahlia, where did they run off to?" asked Sung, looking at everyone.

“I think they went out to dinner,” Alyssa smiled. "And not exactly but you certainly have other skills.”

Sung grinned slyly. “Oh, I did not notice,” Sung replied sarcastically. “So did anyone think to ask when Choi and Dahlia would be back? I know they are adults, but still, we are on a mission. The risk factor is high, so we need to make sure all of us know the locations and times of the team members,” suggested Sung. He took a bite of his food and waited for anyone to answer

“I don’t think they told anyone they were leaving. Ekaterina, did Dahlia say anything to you?” Alyssa asked…

Ekaterina looked at her phone then replied, "No, but I can text her if you need me to.”

Sung raised his hand to stop her. “I am not the team leader. I have hinted at that a few times,” he said. “I don’t think our other organizations would like that, most likely. I am here to make sure you guys do not kill one another, don’t get yourselves killed, and to give some guidance when needed.” Sung said, looking at everyone. He spoke in a stern tone to make his point.

“I think they’ll let us know if there’s a problem but maybe we all can agree, in the future, to let someone know if we’re going anywhere. Just in case something happens.” Alyssa wasn’t going to be ridiculous about it but just letting someone know wasn’t asking too much.

Agent Powers then gave the team a smolder before he replied, “I know everyone here was trained to take care of themselves, but we are dealing with a lot of unknown enemies here. So we need to keep in touch for emergencies.” Then he went back to eating.

Ekaterina elegantly smirked then said, "Very true. We do live in troubled times.”

“Not talking from too much experience, vampires can sneak up on you and bite you, no pun intended,” remarked Sung, still eating. “Our opponents are cunning, let’s not let our guard down,” warned Sung.

“Agreed. However, I don’t really know that the vampires are our enemies. I think we wouldn’t be invited to the offices of the Prince of Chicago, if that was the case. Or at least maybe he isn’t.” Alyssa thought. "It’s very possible that the werewolves are our bigger problem.”

Agent Powers swallowed his food before he looked up and said, “It’s been my experience that one can always find enemies anywhere, even in one’s own group. Who knows how many traitors I was sent to hunt down when I was working solo. I would not be surprised if the vampires and werewolves fought among themselves as well.”

Ekaterina elegantly nodded as she replied, "Mr. Powers is correct about internal struggles between groups, since it’s constantly mentioned in history books.”

“True, it is very likely as well.” Alyssa stated. “And while, it will help us to know as much about the infighting as possible. I still think that our main danger is the werewolves.” Alyssa thought for a moment. "We should certainly find out what kinds of powers both the werewolves and vamps could possess. Which was one of the main reasons that I wanted to watch those movies. Is anyone else up for that tonight?”

Sung looked frustrated. “I do not know much about werewolves. All I do know, from other monster hunters, is that they hunt in packs and have a pack mentality, much like wolves. Vampires are predators but will go out on their own. Werewolves normally hunt in numbers, but they can be even more cunning,” said Sung now playing with his food, thinking. “Alyssa, I owe you an apology for not getting what you were saying about the vampires. Werewolves normally give our organizations a wide berth,” Sung continued. “Which makes me wonder if the pack leader might be young and inexperienced,” suggested Sung, wondering about the idea.

“Interesting. It is certainly possible the pack leader is inexperienced.” Alyssa responded. “Mostly my thinking is that we were invited to meet with the Prince of Chicago. I don’t see that happening if they didn’t want to work with us.” She took a bite of her potato, to think for a moment, then blurted out. "Unless, of course, it’s a trap.”

“The vampires and their different factions seem to operate with different motives. Each clan, as they are known, seem to have their own interests and seem to have their own ideas about how the overarching organization ‘The Camarilla’ which governs them, should be run. They all have different interests, as far as humans and other factions go. I’m interested in learning about "The Imbued,” "The Heralds,” and “Hunternet,” said Sartre.

“Well, I’m sure everything will get researched.” Alyssa commented. She turned back to Sung. “Sung, when you explored the property earlier, what vulnerable areas did you find?” Alyssa did ask if he had found vulnerable areas because there likely would be some. After all, not most people think of the kind of threats they were up against as real, let alone a threat.

“I will research with you Alyssa. Can you put on your hoodie and sunglasses while you research so you look like a hacker?” asked Sartre.

Alyssa rolled her eyes at him, not sure why he said that outloud. “The hoodie sure. I don’t usually wear the sunglasses inside.” Made it harder to see the screen. Still she gave Peter a smile.

“Alyssa is a great researcher.” Sartre said, then asked. “Alyssa, shall we go research?”

Agent Powers quietly ate as he listened to Sartre and Alyssa talk. It was obvious that they were close by their conversation. He looked at Ekaterina who was also listening to the others and smiling as she nibbled at her food ever so gracefully. She was smart, beautiful, seductive and Agent Powers had no idea why she liked him. He never saw himself as a popular guy with either guys or females. The word friend was something he could only imagine or see among others since he was raised like a super soldier by his strict father. However after being assigned to this team, guarding Alyssa, experiencing life and death with the others as well as being seduced by a princess, Agent Powers has been asking himself a lot of questions.

Ekaterina then elegantly looked at Agent Powers and asked, “Would you like to help me do some research as well, Mr. Powers?”

Agent Powers looked at Ekaterina as she smiled ever so gently at him and nodded as he chewed his food. He didn’t know why yet but he found himself wanting to be there for the princess.

Alyssa was sitting next to Peter and grinned. “After dinner, sure.” She was still waiting on a response from Sung, however.

After some thinking, Sung drank the rest of his Coke. “OK, well I am not an expert at electronics, but with deer cameras, you can hide them in the plain sight, and if they do spot them, there is nothing about them. Put a few deer feeders out here and a deer stand. Sometimes vampires do not show up in them but the motion sensor goes off. I have used the stuff in the past with great success,” Sung told the others. He was thinking of something that did not cost an arm and leg
,and could get put up quickly.

“Guard dogs, not big ones or even cats, work, but they might take too much time to train and get. Is anything enough to deal with werewolves and vampires?” asked Sung. “In the end, we have a lot of land to cover, so even simple things like trip flares might work. The weak spot for us was the water essayist’s way of sneaking up on the house and us," added Sung.

Ekaterina then elegantly spoke up as she replied, “I can use the local insects and small rodents to act as eyes and ears in place of the guard dogs since they are not a threat and often ignored. I also remember the possibility that some vampires can not be seen by cameras or mirrors so we should not depend on only electronics.”

Agent Powers swallowed his food and nodded as he said, "Good point, Princess. Also remember they might have computer specialists, too.”

Alyssa took in what Sung said and thought about how to approach that. “The bugs are certainly a good idea,” She agreed, as for the vamps and computers. “They do, have computer specialists. The Nosfartu created their own server and seem to be very good at tech. I really still want to talk to their Primogen.” Alyssa sounded, kind of, impressed with what the Nosfartu had accomplished. She could do the same, need be, but it was just a lot to do correctly.

Agent Powers raised an eyebrow at Alyssa then gave her a smolder as he paused, then he spoke up, “Just because they may like computers doesn’t mean they are friendly. I have met a lot of hackers in Russia and China and their files looked like a demon’s resume. They believed they were like gods when behind their computers and didn’t care that they hurt others.”

Ekaterina elegantly smiled as she asked, “So did you arrest them?”

Agent Powers shook his head no then replied, “When I was a solo agent things were different. If I showed up at your door, you did something to bring me there.”

Ekaterina elegantly asked, “And now?”

Agent Powers shrugged as he replied, “I will still kill my targets, but now I have to protect my team members as well. So if they are not a threat I back off.”

Ekaterina elegantly smiled as she said, "Good to know, Mr. Powers.”

Alyssa, found it interesting that Ekaterina called Max, “Mr. Powers” despite there being a clear relationship between the two. The hacker, mostly, preferred to call people by their first name. She nodded towards Max, “Oh, I know. I wasn’t planning on visiting with them by myself.” Alyssa bit her lip slightly. "But to pick their brain… would be so great.”

“How is your steak, everyone?” asked Sartre.

“It’s delicious, thanks for ordering the food.” Alyssa replied.

Agent Powers gave a thumbs up as he was busy eating.

Ekaterina elegantly smiled as she replied, “It is a lovely meal. Thank you very much.” Ekaterina then looked at Agent Powers and asked, “Did you have enough Mr. Powers? Perhaps we can have some dessert later on?”

Agent Powers paused as he looked at Ekaterina who was smiling ever so elegantly and then nodded as if he was being led in the conversation. Then she put her finger to her lips as she wondered what she wanted for dessert. Then she looked at Agent Powers and asked, “Do you think you can whip up a Chocolate Mousse with Cocoa Powder, Mr. Powers?”

Agent Powers ran the recipe in his head and compared it to the ingredients he remembered buying and then nodded his head as he replied, “Sure. It should take around 20 minutes to make it.”

Ekaterina elegantly smiled as Agent Powers had the qualities she was attracted to. She liked his large powerful muscles, fearless bravado, skills in the kitchen as well as his innocence, and loyalty. She liked being in charge of their relationship and leading the young man by the nose. The more time she spent with Agent Powers the more she was inclined to elope with him and leave her family.

“That does sound like it would be delicious, but chocolate usually is.” Alyssa said. “Oh, Max did you buy any strawberries?” Strawberries with chocolate mousse would be even better.

Agent Powers nodded and replied, “Yeah I bought a lot of fruits to make smoothies with. I need you to eat a bit healthier than chips and sodas. So you can eat all the fruit you want.”

“Strawberries and chocolate would be great. Which Prince should we start with, the Prince of Gary or the Prince of Chicago?" asked Sartre.

“Oh, I’m starting with the security system. Then the movies. Then research, and I thought you wanted info on “The Imbued.”, “The Heralds.”, and “Hunternet.” Any research on the Princes might have to wait, unless someone else wants to start it. And I’d start with the Prince of Chicago, because we’re meeting with him.” The hacker replied.

“It sounds like you kids have it under control. I will be around if you need me,” said Sung, placing his rappers and boxes from dinner in the trash. “I guess the bugs have the watch then?” asked Sung.

Ekaterina elegantly smiled at Sung as she replied, "I will do my best to keep watch. However, it is reassuring to know Alyssa will be doing the same with her security system.”

“Any movie ideas?” asked Sartre.

“I’m up for suggestions Maybe, An American Werewolf in London, as one.” Alyssa commented.

Agent Powers then said, “I saw Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It was kinda funny when Buffy stabbed a vampire with a ruler.”

Ekaterina then said, "I think we should watch "Nosferatu from 1929, since it is older and less glamorized.”

Alyssa nodded. “Well, those are good suggestions. Do we have one more for werewolves? I mean it’s 7 now. I should be done in about an hour, with the security system, or as much as I can tweak until we get more cameras. Max if you don’t mind putting together dessert and snacks that time. Whatever you like but hopefully we have popcorn, as well.” Because movies needed popcorn. "So, we can meet in the living room in about an hour and start on the movies. It’ll be a long night. Unless we want to just do two tonight and maybe two more another night.”

Agent Powers nodded as he finished his meal and began cleaning up.

Ekaterina joined him in the clean up. Then they moved to the kitchen to clean and make desserts.

Alyssa cleared her area, and then said to Peter. "Alright, I’m going upstairs to get started on the security stuff. Come up when you’re ready.” She headed upstairs and got her laptop ready to get started.
