Events have become very, very rare, or there’s something broken.

This is the only one I saw in recent times - i. e. the last year or so - and a Portal of Yog event on the Isle of Siptah just today.

The wiki lists the locations where people who edit the wiki have actually added them. Normally, I would test these types of things myself, but encounters are remotely controlled by Funcom and there is no way to force them.

Yes, intentionally so. Funcom said they would be limiting them to only happen a maximum of once per day. I do not know if this means each location is limited or each encounter type is limited, but I do not think I’ve ever seen the same encounter happen at two different locations on the same day.

I have seen multiple encounters of different types happen on the same day though, in fact just today I witnessed both Witch Hunt in the Upper Staging Area as well as Grave Matter at Flotsam.

But again, Funcom has full control over these and can change them however they want at any time if they feel like it without us having any idea.

in Single Player, there is no server. So its base on location and when game is started.

I’ll get 1 to 4 events, log out and back in and they can be repeated if they re spawn.

After effects Linger, but depends on location. Like Darkness effect lingers. But if your not near the area, it’ll never tick timer down. (so 30min reset doesn’t trigger right)

Every now and then.. I find 0, which led me to roaming about map and finding some other locations past years. (wiki never updated few of spots I mention (2nd or 3rd version of this thread)

finding zero is pretty rare in SP, Pretty sure missing a spawn spot… or game is loading a buggy one. Always hoping someone happens upon one I missed.

I don’t lay Spitah to often.. so lack most of those locations.

The reduction in frequency was intentional, yes, but its effect is pretty extreme imho. If I hadn’t played this game excessively, I’d most likely not ever encountered even a single event (after the change). And if I had encountered a event without foreknowledge, I’d be completely confused, as they’re so rare that most new players won’t even know that they exist at all.

Before, the frequency was a bit crazy. I had a base near the Summoning Place, and there was a Grave Matters event pretty much every time. But now, they’ve effectively been abolished. Which is sad, because they’re pretty fun and add a little spice to visiting locations you already know (almost as good as if Telith’s Ghost and other gaps in the lore were adressed).

The Siptah event was still active after leaving and returning later in single player. Don’t know how long exactly, but I was surprised the event didn’t reset or vanish.

There is a snake caravan spot behind the Great mother building as well. That worked a few months ago on officials.
