Fatal error every time I use a campfire

Every time I place a campfire and click it to cook meat or use it in any way- I get a fatal error crash.

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

1. I uninstalled and reinstalled after this happened in a new game twice.
   2.I started a new game and got down to the Shattered Bridge area.
2. I made and placed a campfire. I clicked it.
   4.Fatal error game crash (has now happened four times total)

Edited to add: I waited to level up and made an improved campfire. Same thing- use it an immediately crash with a fatal error.

Welcome to our community.
Since you mention this is happening in single player, do you have any mods installed?

No it is just the base game and some of the DLC (the armor and building set I think).

[Multigun]

Verify Steam files as usual. Check that your video drivers are updated. Usual stuff.

Multigun I did verify files, had the same crash. I uninstalled and reinstalled. Same crash. I updated drivers for everything I could think of. Same crash.
Shadoza- I will have to try going further away from that area before I put anything down. I have built on both sides of the water and still crash when I click any fire. I haven’t built a big base but did have down a foundation or two. Harvesting gave me no issues, nor did fighting any mobs. I will maybe wait til I get away from there and see if it helps any.

Edited to add: I went down by the Sentinels but on the opposite side of the river from the starting area. I have built there tons of times with no issues. I placed a foundation, placed the fire on it, clicked the fire and crashed again. Fatal error every time. All it says is The UE4-ConanSandbox Game has crashed and will close Fatal Error. No file name or anything

Hey there,

You should provide the full error and (windows) logs, if possible.

Also, try removing any DLC items from your inventory.

If you tell me where to get the error logs I’ll share. I cleared my inventory completely (had no DLC items on me anyways) and it still happened.
