Fatal Error for 2019 Solo Game Save

Playing on Windows 10. This may not be the right place to post this but I’ll give it a try until someone suggests a better location in these forums… I have been playing Conan Exiles off and on since it came out in 2017. I have a solo game that I last played in May 2019, I’ve kept the game updated all along and recently discovered when I tried to launch it June 2020, the game save actually launched and ran for about two minutes before the game crashed with a Fatal Error. Since then every attempt to launch a series of saves from that time period results in a Fatal Error.

These are the mods I was using at the time:

  • Level 140- Unlock Everything (1368506289)
  • Pickup+ (864199675)
  • Emberlight (1369802940)
  • Immersion (1394768794)

Since then I have tried a series of steps:

  • Validate Files
  • Reinstall the game
  • Remove all mods

No joy with any of these attempts. I’ve got a couple of years of building in these saves and it would be nice if I could salvage them. So my question is this, from 2019 to 2020 where they any significant structural changes to the game saves that would result in a Fatal Error upon launch when trying to launch a save from 2019?
Is there any steps I could take that might salvage these game saves?

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

  1. Launch the game with this particular game save.

Search the forums for after patch crashes, I am in a middle of something, I would have located the thread myself for you. It’s all related to the latest patch, good luck

Thanks, I’ll search. As I have no idea when the culprit patch occurred, if anyone could point me at the info, I’d appreciate it.

I have not, how do I do that? And is this any different than file validation? Thanks!

All mods are deactivated. I started a new solo game last night. Everything seems functional. I renamed it’s save to gameold.db.

Then I took one of my backups that I’m trying to restore, game_backup16.db 4/13/19 and changed it’s name to game.db, moved that over to the Save folder and ran CheckGameDB.bat. It says “OK” for this and the other saves in the folder. But when I run it, it still gives me a fatal error.

I removed the problem save, restored gameold.db back to game.db and that one launches without any issues… :frowning:
Any other ideas?

OK, thanks for your help. Will game support look at this post, or do I need to submit an official ticket somewhere else?
