# Fatal Error in Single Player Game on Steam

> ## Bug Description: Repeated fatal error crash. The game plays the intro, allows me to select single player, new game, then displays Fatal Error, and that the game will shut down. this has been happening for almost a week. Game cannot be played.

## Bug Reproduction: Unknown

Greetings @JamesRoss and welcome to the forums,

Thank you for your report. Please follow the steps to verify your game files:

1. Open Steam
2. In **Library** , click with the right button on the game and select “Properties”
3. Select the **Install files**
4. Select **Verify integrity of game files…**
