It is not the towers but the patch itself. If I have to guess I would say that in this new patch Funcom has changed the render distance of terrain and ingame assets in general causing more buildings to remain visible in greater distance which increases the ram demand and the server shuts down due to overload. Prior to the patch the render distance was very limited which was good for performance. Many of the servers are very weak and underpowered to begin with and were constantly shutting down regardless. Conan is an incredibly demanding game and has overwhelming amount of game assets and with every updated more elements are added to the game. With increased render distance and underpowered servers the game crashes more than ever.
I have the same issue, using an AMD. First, I have sound issues of clipping sound and then the game crashes with fatal error. This happens regulary since the latest patch. Using only Hosav’s Custom UI Mod - 2.2.1.
I hate to bust your bubble, but it was not the update that caused the problem. That tower was causing crashes 4 days before the update. My clan had 2 members trapped in the area along the beach and another group had 1 trapped also. They could not login without crashing the server because they were within rendering distance and it must have been in decay and the server was unable to delete a structure of that size. So you can continue to spin all of the nonsense theories you want, but the fact is it’s all on you. Who even builds a tower that tall in official servers anyway? You say they should not allow someone to build that high if it is going to cause problems. No, you just dont build that high because it is common sense that it is likely to cause problems. it’s just disrespectful to do that on someone else’s server . Basically you just need to own up and accept it was on you and quit blaming the game and the developers.
The real question is, after his clan was banned and the tower deleted, did the server return to normal operating status? No ill effects? If so, then clearly it can’t be related to the patch, which still remains.
Server Is working great now. All players that was unable to login could log back on as soon as the tower was removed. Like I said, the problem was happening before the update even came out. I know because we sent tickets in about it. Funcom just happened to correct the situation at about the same time as the update arrived
