Yes I’m begging developers to think about the social ramifications of their work prior to publishing because we live in a free society and it’s the only thing I can do. I’m not asking for protection but the ability for them to find something in character design that relates to themselves. I’m asking to see beyond the irresponsible application of rights. Something you somehow believe is sacred to protect. If you care about these rights, you would stop promotion of this carelessness and promote that application of said rights is what need reverence. If its done carelessly, we will be regulated away from the freedoms that were once self evidence. Our rights are fragile things that must be respected. Your service and oath only goes as far as politicians will keep it on the books. You may have personally took it to mean more but it’s really what is the law and the law can change based on the abuse of rights against other people or on societal effects.

No. I think by including not idealized forms that girls will start understanding there are all shapes and sizes of women and it’s Ok to be non-ideal. For boys, I hope there is a level of respect towards women…how does that get promoted if they constantly are seeing images of naked or near naked women clinging to some dude’s leg?

But actually they do. the more you put stuff in front of people’s faces in a way that is affirming, the people start looking at it as such. You even believe that as you mentioned above normalizing obesity is an issue with this type of thought process. You aren’t wrong in that unhealthy lifestyles can be normalized and that is the opposite end of the spectrum where you can get too far on the other acceptance side and normalize negative aspects of society (over eating, drug use, etc can and does have effects on the appearance as well).

To some extent. However media (social and mass) and marketing promote a single type and that has nothing to do with a commonality but laziness and creating a planned demand . By pushing certain aspects over others, you can plan on what is needed for your ad space or billboard or channel in predictable ways. Some of which is pushed for the taboo nature of the ideal. Modeling as pushed this time and time again with age and beauty. In all honesty, has anyone done studies on the rise of child abuse and if there is correlation to the rise of prepuberty models being displayed in sexualized manner? So yes people like what they like but that is swayed heavily by what is popular as beauty and it’s big business to promote one set of standards to the populace because you can control that easier than not. If the ideal wasn’t shoved down your throat since you were an infant with medias and marketing, would you still be all about it?
