To be fair, he’s already admitted to this. He said he doesn’t want to censor. Without deplatforming or governmental regulations, his viewpoint is dead before it even starts. You can’t tell an artist to make what they don’t wish to make, or to cease making what they do want to make without fear of retribution or some compulsory statute. As we know voting with one’s wallet is out of the question as well. I mean I went to Boris Vallejo’s website and all of his original paintings depicting sexy women are sold out, and they were going for $3,000-20,000 each. You also mentioned western developers trying to force the issue, but that has been failing. If they fail to provide what the customers want, someone else will step in. Sex sells, and that’s the reason the oldest profession is the oldest.
The real question however is how long will people like him continue to take the non-censoring stance? Many have gone further and that needs to be combated at every turn. I don’t trust anyone enough to come up with a list of correct art and incorrect art. Instead that needs to be left to the individual.
Because I am being told that what I like have and what others like to have is incorrect and harmful. Who the hell are they to say what is correct and incorrect? And who would they trust to make that decision for them? If they don’t trust another individual with that authority, why should I?
