Food does not appear in inventory/toolbar won't stay up on the screen

I played about 75 hours of this game a few months ago, without a problem. When I tried playing again today, I noticed there was no toolbar on the screen, when I try to toggle it using ALT-Z, it stays up for only a second and then disappears again. I have picked up several food items but none of them except seeds appear in the inventory, and there is no option to eat them at all. I can’t transfer them to the toolbar, when I try it says the item cannot be moved. My character starved to death twice because there is absolutely no way for him to eat anything.

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

  1. start a new game
  2. pick up food
  3. open inventory
  4. food does not appear in inventory

This seems like a great game and I am eager to play. But it’s very frustrating with issues like this. And your website has a wonky way of creating accounts. It kept taking me back to this stupid overlay telling me to click on my first message. I had to close out twice and try to log back in, it wouldn’t take my password. Then, somehow, I was magically logged in. I am still confused as to what went wrong there, but I finally got in and posted my issue.

Also, I am not familiar enough with the parameters to tell what kind of serve I am on or what region I am in. I am in Illinois, USA, but I don’t know what region code to use. Hopefully, you will still be able to help with my issue.

This is a game stopper, so if this issue is not addressed, I will not be able to play at all. That would be very bad.
