If you were part of the ‘Playtest’ you were given the option of giving feed-back of the game update throughout the game, as well as after. If you had a problem with CEE then the solution was in your hands. Simply give feed back.
If you weren’t selected for the Playtest then ‘zip it’. You have no knowledge of what is coming.
I appreciate ‘the unknown is scary’ but running ones mouth about something you know nothing about does not help anyone.
I have read posts about how ‘Ark’ nose dived after the change to UE5. That is ‘Ark’, a completely different game, different developer.
Other games have upgraded to UE5 with minimal problems. ‘Satisfactory’ being a prime example.
All this negativity about a game update which is still 48 hrs away . . . . why ?
Stop looking at the glass as half empty. Just wait to see what happens.

FC hasn’t demonstrated reliability and trust in the past few years so negative speculation is, frankly, warranted.
I share Xevyr’s feedback about concentration on visuals shouldn’t be the main focus, as shown in the announcement video. Being that the meat of the update is in a novel of a blog post it stands to reason that misinformation, assumptions and confusion is to follow.
I agree with you that players should be patient and be personally responsible for managing their own expectations. At the same time this situation is created by FC, as a result, I will not blame players.
IMO, while I appreciate the crunch that is clearly happening, a dev stream would have served everyone better. Of course, there’s the “surprise” part, so the format wouldn’t have aligned with their strategy. Pity.
First day on the internet? People will speculate, praise, trash whatever they want, you can’t control it, certainly not by opening another discussion whether we should speculate the update. Simply don’t interact with such threads. Allow people to have fun discussing whatever might be or might not be on the horizon.
What I’m hearing is that nudity and death are being removed. Defeated npcs will simply surrender and you have a choice of taking their stuff or making them a thrall.
Also that there’ll be no more building your base piece by piece. There’ll only be prefab buildings that you place instead in order to cut down on server lag and clutter plus really large bases will have to be bought from the bazaar. If you’re going to stress the server then you’ll have to pay for it.
If anyone is making that claim they either A). were part of the NDA beta test and are breaking their NDA so please let Funcom know who they are OR more likely than not B). they are talking out of their arse. In which case let everyone know who they are so we all know to ignore them.
He didn’t mention the ban on cross gender play and the new requirement for a valid ID to enforce that rule, without the other points mentioned don’t make much sense.
One can only hope, however he certainly did not make it clear and sadly there are those who would make such imbecilic claims such as these, and others who would believe them as well.

I heard Funcom will take a pic of your face when you create your character, using AI they will render it to game. I can’t contain my excitement.
I lost 4-5 years of work, am now a homeless refugee forced to compete with established clans to try to get back a fraction of what I built, what I was most proud of. Forced to tear down my beauttiful and amazing base, without so much as a “sorry about that” from Funcom, much less any compensation for what we’ve had taken from us. Funcom should have offered Cromcoins, at the very, very least.
Frankly if the transfer doesn’t go smoothly, it probably marks the end of my time wwith anything Funcom. Prettier graphics isn’t any kind of reward that makes it worthwhile.
I’m far from alone.
Nearly everyone on my serve is pissed off and contemplating quitting the game over the mishandling and disrespect of this update. Poor communicatins, lack of guidance, no expressions of regret for the damages caused, no offer of compensation for forcing us to work nonstop for days to save what we can, while Exile players aren’t asked to sacrifice anything at all just leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
I expect the established clans will be preying on the Siptah refugees while they are vulnerable, clanless, and without shelter. The carnage on the PVP servers is going ot be awful…the day will become known as the Sluaghter of the Siptahs, and Funcom will do absoluttely nothing to protect them.
I don’t see anything gained that will be worth what I lost.
