This seems like kinda major issue, but apparently frostbite and heatstroke can kill characters while there off line, causing them to lose all the gear on them and respawn at whatever location.
Steps on how to reproduce issue:

i dont see the problem with that, if u live in the frozen zones, u need to make a shak insolated and then inside put a fireplace, and put ur fur clothes on 
done u will not die in frozen like it should be if u live in tthat area, if u have a dancer too it will help more, for heathstroke i think u can build a shaq with the normal tier ones, and get ur self some confi anti heath pijamas and the dancer and u are set ;). I think this sistem is well implement those are the end game zones and if u expect easy mode dont go there …
