So, when the Battle pass was a thing, we bought it for 1,200 crom coins. ($9.99). Cherry on top, that 1,200 crom coins was reimbursed to where you could get Sorcery 1-3 and War 1-4 for that 1,200 CCs.
You have, for example, Chronicles of War, Chapter 1, listed for a whopping for 15,160 (WELL over $100)- discounted to 1,169.
You are honestly saying a random bundle of stuff is worth more than, say, the ENTIRE Conan Complete edition? (Base game + EVERY DLC is about $100 on Steam). Not the entire battlepass collection, but a single 1/7 of it? $100? Really?
1,169 is not a discount, it’s just the actual actual price. Or maybe list it for 1,200, discounted to 1,169.
The prices are nonsense, please fix, or at least remove the slashed prices entirely unless they’re like 10% more than the discount. Bazaar makes ZERO sense atm.
Original price at 1500-2000 would likely make more sense as it’s the complete pass for no work. Idk what they’re doing here because they’ve never made sense with their prices. Btw, they’re never gonna reimburse you for the CCs like the BP did. It was the advantage of the BP system they had. Other games do this as well (not all), as a means of getting you to play the game rather than make money. There’s no BP now, so the only incentive to play is on the merits of the game itself.
My point was, for 1,200 Crom coins (and a little elbow grease) you could get 7 battle passes worth. Even if they didn’t reimburse for the final pass, this would have been a fair price for all 7 chapters, maybe a little more to account for the work players put in.
Asking for the prices they are, which rival individual DLCs is odd. Saying a single sliver of the battle pass system is well over $100 but “oh lucky you we’ll make it $10!” is bonkers.
For me, I feel I got my money’s worth, even if they didn’t give it back for the last BP. I’m just asking for the “original prices” to be more.. realistic.
I am still convinced that this fake rebate thing is against EU laws
I dont think its fake. Any discount I’ve gotten is because I already own pieces of the bundle from either it being on sale separate or earned via a battke pass when those were a thing.
And I think its nice of them not to charge me twice for a wheel if uninteractable cheese.
I don’t wanna speak for them, but my understanding of the “fake rebate” is as shown in my example above: charging 15,160 Crom Coins as the “actual price”, with it showing 1,169 Crom Coins as the discounted price. Not that it removes bits you already own from bundles.
There is NO way 15,160 ($120) is the “actual price” of a single chapter of battle pass content. So, users are seeing is “On Sale for 92% off!” (1,169/15,160), when in actuality it is very likely MEANT to be something like “On Sale for 3% off!” (1,169/1,200)
It is -at best- an honest mistake on the programmer’s part where the zero digit is one to far (as in actual price might be 1,510 Crom Coins). At worst, intentionally misleading/false advertising.
I first thought that again, but the rebates are also on the single items, where there is no possibility to buy them for a normal price
So where and when would you purchase these items at “full” price?
They are never going to be listed for sale as the “full” price, because it’s a crazy amount. My concern is that Funcom appears dishonest with the crazy prices, and would be better served if it was just honest about the pricing. While even the 1,169 CCs is way too much for what it gives, it might “sit better” if it was listed as being discounted from 1,200 rather than a very insulting 15,000+.
I would say there are certain sets like the Stormglass expansion which I happily bought for around 1,200 CCs. No discount needed.
