Funcom please rethink your bow system

Your bow use system is just wrong and discourages players from using bow builds.
Also since when does using any bow anywhere ever destroy gauntlets?
Whoever thought up your bow system clearly knew nothing of archery, whether in any game or in real life.
I like bow builds and have near 4k steam hours playing Conan Exiles/Siptah.
I rarely see anyone use a bow build.
Who the heck wants to repair their gauntlets every 10 shots anyways?

Regardless of what gamers say, playing a bow spec actually takes skill and practice. This “cheese it” mentality is all testosterone and geek killa wannabe talking.
I used to love using my bow and killing from a distance until they nerfed it into the ground.
Apparently real men just hack away with their swords and get that smug feeling of accomplishment afterwards.
Now I rarely use my bow, except to spam healing arrows, or pull a mob with poison arrows.

They could put in a pain wheel to the game…
Melee Combat has a Bonus Defending against Arrows
Calvary as it, since it wrecks melee on foot right now…
and buff archery when dealing with mounted (and flying) foes.

It could be more complex if you want to differentiate between different weapon types and skirmish weapons. Obviously, I’ve reversed the pain wheel as it is in most games (and to a certain extent, reality.)

Normally it goes Spear/Pikeman Strong Vs. Calvary (although this is really relative to the cost to train and maintain them.

Calvary is strong Vs. Archery, being able to get close quickly and kill

And Archery is normally strong against melee, but that’s not very interesting for Conan type action.

Valuria only got knixed by Thulsa Doom’s arrow when she was on Horseback fleeing after all. So… backward Pain wheel isn’t totally without merit.

At least, in PvP.

PvE can and probably should have a different balance.
