For months everyone has been complaining that their thralls are dying too easily in this game, especially given the amount of investment needed to get them to level 20. So why is the solution to everyone’s problem nerfing thrall hit points more? I’d just like an explanation of why when the fanbase complains about something devs in this game do the opposite of what they want?

According to the lead, nerfing bearer HP was to protect “role distinction”.
Fighters melee, Archers shoot, Bearers carry stuff.
Bearers having high HP evidentially imperilled the role of Fighter thralls.
Mind you, that is just the line that was told.
The Cimmerian Berzerker still has an awesome ranged multiplier, better than most named Archers.
Several named Fighters have less than a 1.0 melee damage modifier and can’t even complete a combo.
Those on the brown diet will say it’s only the first step towards something better.
Laugh at them. They are either liars or delusional.
It’s a first step just like the pet nerf was a first step.

This needs new separate thread. Because it’s ongoing problem, since I remember playing CE.
How big was my disappointment, when I got Aesir purge few years ago, and was hyped about aesir berserker I caught. It had insane HP on lvl 0, good stats. Ofc, back then I had no idea about dmg multipliers and neither about the fact those “UNIQUE” fighters are not able to do finishers in combo - meaning compared to plain, normal, guaranteed spawn berserkers they are useless, because they won’t save us any time nor effort in battle. I googled how is possible that those “bombed rambo fighters” seem to be less effective in battles than the normal ones… well.
Now one can get some wannabe OP posh “competent fighters” (as Dennis would say) from high level purges, but those have only higher HP and better starting attributes, but also approx. two times worse melee and ranged dmg multipliers than any guaranteed berserker.
What is the point then? Nerfing everything unique to the point players are only finding the path of the least resistance and highest effectivity, which means also any unique thrall’s name means “ok, not gonna keep this one”, or one simply wont save them from the purge cage, because you already know what loser it will be. But he has a name and he is T4! 
My apologies if I sound a bit naggy here, but it’s been a years I was thinking about why any unique aspect of named T4 thralls (workers as well) was removed at some point.
