Half-Child of Dagon : What a crazy (half)man!

Heya everyone ! Recently, in my solo game, I went for the first time in the Sunken City (which is a really beautiful place btw). At first glance, it seemed to be kind of a mid-level kind of dungeon by how easily i could smash the “Watcher Above” and the “Captain Below”. By the way, i was stuffed like this :
Aquilonian armor
Blade of the Adventurer
30 strength, 30 Vitality, 30 grit, 10 agility, 10 encumbrance and 10 survival
Spinas the Marauder with star metal 2H sword and cimmerian heavy armor.

So i went in the second underwater temple in before me stood the half-child of Dagon and, oh my god he was a beast. I spent 30 min on him. My spinas had 5000 HP at the time and the boss just murdered him with ease. I used 60% of durability from my sword before i could finally kill him. He just had so much HP.

So i was wondering if any of you got any troubles with him or if i was just bad. Cause it really surprised me, earlier in the day, i killed the red mother with the same gear and spinas was just fine.

Nope. He sucks. I’m pretty sure he is a no good cheating bastard.

Ok then. So that’s a bug, but to know if it’s from the game or from one of my mod… Oh well, i can easily avoid him. Thanks for your answer c:

My apologies. I did not intend for my tongue in cheek comment to imply that he is bugged. I do think he is miss conned. He should show as a three skull as he is a beast.

You should carry healing arrows, especially whilst using a thrall in dungeons.

I don’t bother anymore. Too much trouble. Seen it do 6 AoEs in a row.

I just make him chase me into the water and ignore him afterwards as he won’t swim back to shore sometimes.

I should use a throwing spear and poke him a million times while swimming… but that could be tedious.

Those are usefull tips, but i never really needed them. I’ve done every dungeon and every boss with Spinas and it always went just fine without healing arrows, i know when i need to take the aggro and such. I do coordinate my attacks (RIP Arena champion that didn’t landed even 1 hit) but i don’t know, that dude had more HP than the Red Mother and just didn’t want to be staggered. I’m always making sure when i am fighting a boss, there is always someone landing a hit on him, either me or Spinas, but that one doesn’t care . What was shocking was the fact that for the first time in my hundred hours of play time, my follower died from a boss (that wasn’t so scary), first time and I hope the last time too. Anyway, thank you all, I’m not going close to him again :joy:!

Its not the first time I see it mentioned that he has more Hp than the Red Mother, probably a bug and needs balancing. Perharps move this thread to bugs?

I didn’t kill him, just went to the underwater dungeon once when it was new and found him very strong. But since I didn’t try to kill him I didnt notice it to be this bad.

I cut the Half-child with Venom-infused daggers, and kept full stacks of Poison and Bleed on him for quite some time. I made a noticeable dent in his hitpoints, but was nowhere close to killing him by the time I decided trying to finish the fight was not worth the effort. He’s on a totally different level than any other boss in the dungeon, including the final boss (who at least has the decency to have the reach of a normal human).

I think there’s a design flaw of some kind in him, probably a typo in his hitpoints or something.

Healing Arrows are your BEST friend to keep your thrall from dying.
