Dear Administrators can u make the Official hardcore servers ?
With:
x0.1 Exp
x0.1 Drop rate
x0.1 Farm
x1.5-2 mobs/boss DMG and more Health (now one slave can kill any boss himself)
It would add a lot of interest to the game, the value of things.
Every mob, every boss would be given with great effort and would require skill. Players would unite and go to bosses like in raids.
legendary chests would not give a 100% chance of a weapon. The value of any legendary weapon would increase. Players would exchange things, resources. A kind of roleplay would arise
You can make one server per region. 100% players will like it and will raise great interest in the game
Count the likes you got so far and understand that we count just few of us who would actually participate .
It’s an experience i have played but it’s not fun in total. For example 0.1 experience rate makes fun things irritating slow. Don’t get me wrong but some conveniences like preservation box comes very late in your gameplay and on your first week you cannot preserve food and valuables which is more annoyance than fun if you ask me .
For me hardcore means every mob has x10 hit outcome which makes you literally one shot to almost everything for a really good amount of time and no Thrall can help you in any case .
We cannot speak about hardcore experience if we expect thralls to do the job for us . In a hardcore experience we are alone to everything and we protect our vulnerable population even from an hyaena attack, or a crocodile.
My suggestion all these years is to have official servers Pve with barbaric mode. Trust me , for online experience barbaric mode is more than enough to enjoy and it’s very well balanced.
Are you bonkers? Gathering materials is already one of the biggest time sinks in Conan. At 0.1x gather rates I’d spend an entire weekend farming enough stone just to build a small outpost. I’m currently building a large base and I’ve already gathered 144,000 stone on 2x rates. At 0.1x I’d probably finish it sometime in 2027!
What was your tool and your attributes will always be the key. On 1x rates this gathering is just a black blood pick 2hours (i can do it in one hour) max , or star metal pickaxe 2.5 hours max, 3 repairs on the way.
“Hardcore” means that the player knows everything about the game and sees no difficulty anymore to literally everything.
These servers would be strictly for veteran gamers , the rest will surely find zero interest in it .
I like to calibrate the game in a way that all buffs count. Not only do you need high end armors crafted by a t4, but you need to kit them. Going out without a legendary weapon becomes a bit risky. You need potions/elixirs and you need good food for you and the thralls. It’s not that you can’t survive without them, but you are not comfortable. The buffs matter a little, which is better than them counting for nothing on pve. I have to tweak a lot of values in the admin panel to get the experience I like. Usually you know that you hit the sweet spot when the Arena Champion can kill you with one hit while you are wearing top tier armor. You only survive if you also drank one elixir. Barely survive and if she pulled a heavy attack, you’re dead if you get hit, let alone if you get hit by the end blow in a combo. That done, dificulty seems just right overall. If memory doesn’tfail me you get there increasing npcs dmg multiplier from 1 to 1.8. Around that.
You need to buff your thralls via admin panel or they are just cannon fodder in high level purges. How much? Personal taste. That’s the best I can achieve without mods.
Hardcore is always about combat and never about resource gathering. Increasing npc dmg is usually better than decreasing our own, because bosses become dull Dmg sponges and combat becomes boring.
It goes without saying that pvp is always hardcore, but even so you can spice things up a notch by tweaking stamina consumption.
That said… combat is just OK in this game. It’s not bad, but it’s not its greatest strenght.
Exactly. A small test someone can do is to try to defeat the “Bestial” bosses while wearing armor . Even in an official Pve server with decadent difficulty this can become mission impossible, in the longevity of the fight, a simple lag or a usual “disconnection” because someone decided to do “something” that broke the server, the experience will become devastating.
I remember some years ago i tried to participate on the Australian server of my dearest @everybodyvsME . Such a beautiful server without monstrosities builded on Barbaric mode . This server was literally my dream and the admin was making it superb . But my constant disconnection made it nearly impossible to play without getting frustrated in the end .
Regardless if someone likes extra difficulty in the game, when the performance is lousy the whole idea is dropping down like a carton tower .
Before any idea of advanced difficulty online experience steps forward, performance issues must be eliminated first. And that’s exactly in my opinion what’s making any idea of this kind a dream.
Hopefully single player still runs extremely well for this kind of experience, so until they improve the online experience, they could create a balanced hardcore difficulty, one life only ,with a ranking system.
I tried, brother. I felt the settings were perfect. Unfortunately the servers aren’t the best. I have even played with @jmk1999 and others on US officials. I’ve died from many enemies purely because I don’t see them until I’m dead.
All in good fun though. If Funcom ever give us peasants a reason to resume, I’d be very happy to do it all again.
Maybe we’d even be able to talk @LostBrythunian back into returning.
Not that I’m against hardcore servers, I’m playing on one now, but it’s kind of pointless in the public realm as long as npc AI can be cheesed up one side and down the other. People can and will use walls with archers, spike fields, literal armies of thralls/pets or whatever they have to do to get easy, risk free kills. While nothing says you personally have to it’s all going to be there in your way and lagging/cluttering up the server.
This is unavoidable, but you won’t be able to get everything you want that way. You’ll need skill to defeat bosses, as their health and damage will be increased, and legendary chests won’t guarantee a legendary item.
A hardcore server is about the interest of the game, the difficulty of getting things, your skills, giving value to things, and the interaction between players to get something.
