As the title says, I don’t know if the Karmic effect isn’t repairing armor on purpose or if it’s a bug. I equipped The Nemedian with the rest of my armor, which is epic quality, not legendary, but it isn’t being repaired.
It has been working like that for years. I generally read the whole “patch notes” article on each update but I don’t remember reading this anywhere. Does anyone know? Should I report this as a bug?
Karmic effect has never repaired armor. Only weapons. And even then, only main hand weapons… so don’t expect to repair your shields. It’s how I repair my siptah eldarium-based weapons on Exiled Lands to save on spending the exceptionally rare eldarium.
No, as @jmk1999 said, it has only ever repaired weapons, not armor. Perhaps you are using mods that change that to include armor and the mod just needs to be updated?
Agreed. This is the most likely scenario. I play on PlayStation official, so I have no opportunity for any modifications of any sort beyond Funcom’s own changes. I’ve been using the nemedian helm long before even Siptah released and been repairing tools and weapons with it just as long. @EnderGirl1500 if you are on PC with mods, and were not aware of this, you likely had a mod that featured that ability. Consider this, if the nemedian repaired armor AND weapons, it likely would have been too op and gotten changed long ago. On the other hand, if you play without mods on official, it’s more than likely you just forgot and didn’t realize it won’t repair armor. Idk… unless you can reveal the details for your assumptions, our best guess is that it’s a mod.
I don’t believe it’s ever been that way… and even if it was, it would have had to have been a LONG time ago because as long as I’ve used it, it’s been that way… and I used it even before siptah released. I remember discussing the repairing of tools with @Coyote0903 on our old server years back. He said he’d purposely overheat himself to repair his tools when he’d go on farming binges.
I’ve just seen a video where it says it works on armor, plus there’s a comment posted 4 months ago saying they do the same thing as me: equip the armor to a thrall and punch him
Here’s a video from firespark that discussed it when it was new… only weapons.
Also, that punching thing only repairs your weapon… and doesn’t work on PvE since you can’t damage thralls. It’s mentioned on the wiki… but it doesn’t elaborate about PvE settings.
Please share the video you found. I’m more than happy to be proven wrong, but I haven’t seen it ever work like that… and I’ve used just about every time I play my game.
The thing is, the video says it works but doesn’t show… But at least I’m not the only one! I literally have the images in my mind of me watching my Sobek armor being repaired by temperature damage
I just don’t understand… I’ve “taught” this game to a lot of people since none of the people I’ve ever met played the game before I showed it to them. This has been one of the very first things I’ve said and demonstrated to all of them. In fact, I was showing it to my partner when I realized it wasn’t working, then came here to ask.
I guess the only thing I can think of is that it was a glitch, but it doesn’t really make sense, like, a bug that lasted for 6 years and only applied to a few of us? But worked for me and my clan every time that we tried? I used to equip the same 2 or 3 armor sets all the time but it’d be too much coincidence for them to be the only bugged sets…
No it wasn’t your imagination.
As all the fellow players mentioned above this helmet was repairing weapons, not gear. However before 2.4 (for pc) it was repairing the whole gear both on thralls and players , that’s true it’s not your imagination. After 2.4 it was repairing only weapons. With the age of war it repairs only craft able weapons. Now i don’t know about pc but on PlayStation it use to repair the whole gear. Yet this is way back even before Siptah.
It’s not the first time i read about “personal” bugs in this forum. A couple years ago, before the age of sorcery update, a fellow member named @Alhambra was reporting that her thralls could knock down the scorpion boss with a truncheon. Of course nobody believed her so she send a video and we all got shocked. You do understand that after this, if you tell me that you saw Winnie the poo walking on exile lands, i will have every reason to believe you . But seriously now, i believe you my friend. Feel lucky you get rid of this “personal” bug.
As I suspected… as long as I’ve used it, it never worked that way. So… if the case was that it worked that way, it was a bug that got squashed fairly quickly since this is the first I’m hearing of such a bug.
@EnderGirl1500 if all you’re saying is true, and I’m not saying it’s not (as @stelagel mentioned, personal bugs and all…), you should consider yourself lucky for having such a bug for all this time.
Yeah… I guarantee you that if it HAD been nerfed from something like that recently, a lot more people would be pissed about it and you’d find a bunch of topics about it, similar to the change in legendary kits. However, this is the first I’m hearing of it being an issue, which leads me to believe you may have had a very special circumstance. As I said, consider yourself lucky, because this has never been the case with any of the rest of us that I can see.
