Has the public server lag issue been solved?

Waiting for Friday evening to draw conclusion but it seems the server lag caused by server population has solved it’s self. Enough people have given up, or seen the new shiny and was not impressed, and moved on. The public server I am on is back down to normal levels; teens, low 20’s. We we going over 30 there for a while.

Last night I could run with out rubber banding, even with a follower and dragging a new friend. Still had to hold for a fraction of a second rather then tap buttons to do anything. A tap just meant the start and canceling of an action. I was also able to do battle locked on to an enemy with out seizure inducing teleporting.

Short answer, NO. Barely playable past 10 players online.

from 8-10 people online it sadly becomes unplayable

All they did was something to register the ping to be lower to log in, gameplay-wise, the lag is about the same when 15 players are on doing stuff.
