Simply put, after this change, the game started using the CPU a lot. In my case, a Ryzen 5 5600G with an RTX 3060 12GB, I can’t play the game without constant stuttering, and I can play much more demanding games like Conan without suffering performance issues. I hope this can change in the future, because Unreal Engine 5 is pure garbage if you don’t know how to use it.
If you’re using mods, disable them. It’s likely using a lot of CPU because its trying to load mods that arent updated to UE5 yet.
Actually, I never used mods; I downloaded the game when it updated to Unreal Engine 5 : /
How long did you leave it running? Compiling the shaders can take some time, but after that you should be GPU bound and not CPU bound.
Read the recommended system requirements for this game now.
Your main problem is the “5600G” processor; swap it out for a 5600X, and you’ll be able to play the game in UE5 much more smoothly, even with your 3060. Even AMD itself admits that the 5600G suffers from a poor design. You can pick up a 5600X on the used market for next to nothing, yet it offers significantly better gaming performance and remains a competitive budget gaming CPU to this day.
