The single player mode is already quite good, but lacks a bit. Most annoying is that almost all NPC settlements or camps attack the player on sight. It would be better if the player could make friends or enemies with the various factions and a lot more trade would happen. The new dialogues need not even to be recorded. Most settlements have named characters already. Quest design would be a thing but it would still be less work than the average graphic pack demands.
Fast travel on the map between locations – with random foe encounters - would be nice, instead of walking the whole map again and again.
A classic isometric view mode and proper party (four to eight thralls) would be nice too. With the ability to order the thralls around while not standing next to them.
The settlements the players built could be visited by traveling merchants, scholars, bards or desperate exiles offering their freedom in exchange for food and clothes…
Ten to 20 save games would be nice. The games does make 41 backups so one could allow saving and loading in single player mode.
Classes are not really needed as the players can make his avatar a kin to a fighter, archer or thief. But a higher level cap or slower progression could not hurt. In easy and normal mode the player reaches the max level of 60 long before he or she had seen half of the world.
The static enemy replacement should also be switched to random encounters, once the player has slain the foes.
Plus the unexplored map should be shown so that the player knows the places he or she had never been to.
Simply no thank you. The single player game is just fine as it is (apart from the bugs and bad decisions of recent years). Many of us would be deeply irritated to have the game we bought changed into a completely different game. If you want to play Diablo, by all means go do so, but this is the forum for Conan Exiles.
As for slower progression - that is already an option in single player. Many of us chose to play at 0.1 or 0.2 exp for exactly that reason. It is an easy setting that you have complete access to and can set for yourself. You can also change crafting rates, harvesting rates, material costs etc. And that is without getting into the question of mods. None of these things need to be imposed from outside.
This changes need not to be made mandatory but could be optional and in Diablo one cannot build a house or mine ores. But Conan shares with Diablo ()from two on) the non-immersive tendency to resurrect the mighty foes the players had just vanquished. I would have Conan to move a bit more in the direction of Baldur’s Gate or Pathfinder. Without losing it’s current charm.
If it was added as an entirely separate mode, with the existing singleplayer mode retained, then I would have no objection (other than perhaps what I might view as wasted dev time - I want them spending time on fixing what has been broken rather than adding an entirely new game mode - but assuming they added devs to focus on that new version of the game rather than subtracting them from fixes desperately needed by the existing game, then no problem). Of course, this is all deeply hypothetical, since there has been a general reduction in work on CE all round and the producers letters have stated a hiatus (or perhaps end, that is less clear) to new content, so the odds of them drastically altering the game to imitate other titles seem low. But, as I say, provided they were to do so as an addition, and not by removing the existing ways to play the game, objections would be limited. (Though, witness the level of objections to the addition of a small, entirely optional, compass and realise that calling for the game to copy whatever game would be unlikely to be popular - if players wanted to play those games, then we would be playing those games - especially when you call for things like isometric view and controlling a party instead of a character.)
Hello and welcome to Conan Exile’s forums.
I am neither an coder nor a modeler so what I will say can be corrected by qualified people.
The graphic engine used being a strongly modified version, this one having lost stability as FunCom added features , I think the addition of a fonctinal it would have fatal concequences for the code that was fragmented by the added added to the court of the last years.
In addition to the costs and time of time (which Funcom does not) a added you would bring bugs and maybe a critical break in the code, not to mention the rejection on the part of the community. Rather than playing a diablo to have it mechanics, there is Skyrim which brings to that you ask you (with its Skyrim mod and more complete than Conan Exile).
