How is the Battle Pass going to affect...uh, weird players like me?

I used to play CE like most others in the past, focused on online and the survival aspect, but in my opinion, Conan Exiles does base building better than any other game of this genre, and that’s basically been my focus on it for the past few years:

Off-line single player, admin panel cranked to the maximum, building whatever my heart desires, attempting to achieve some level of ultimately futile contentment because there will always be more crap to build! If there was some pack that had appealing architecture design to me, I’d buy it and then just do my thing.

However…the Battle Pass changes things for me, from the looks of it. :expressionless: It’s entirely online focused in terms of progress, and all cosmetic stuff from here on out will be locked behind it - no more individual packs for purchase.

The fact that I won’t have to pay for them is kind of nice, but…really, what about weird people like me who just don’t care about survival and online progress anymore? Will I be able to just yank the new cosmetic goodies and building pieces out of the admin panel for my offline play scot-free? Or will I seriously have to start playing for real again?

Just like other things you may see in admin panel that it won’t allow you to make I believe it will have to be earned. But they said it should be easy and you still have panel offline. Good luck :+1:

The BattlePass stuff is only if you want and are a player that likes challanges - as with other games out there. Some (if not all) the BattlePass (and FC Shop) stuff will be purely cosmetic [go back and check the 3.0 announcement video], but there will be some items that may be seen to be enhancements to some.
It will not change the core game. If you want, you can think of the BattlePass as unique achievement stuff and the Shop like selective purchasing of the old DLC stuff.

What are you talking about?

All future content from here on out will be distributed via the BP - that announcement video itself confirmed that.

New content is most definitely a part of the core game.

Hey, @TheLastGingerAle, if you haven’t yet seen this video, I would recommend watching it:

I think it answers your questions. From what I can see there, you should be able to get the challenges done more easily with the help of admin interface in single-player.

Why thank you! It’s not exactly official word, but it does get my hopes up.

For the record, the guy who was interviewed there, Dennis Douthett, is the lead designer of Conan Exiles. It’s as official as it gets, unless someone from Funcom stops by this thread and answers your question directly

Even better then! Thank you.

Do you happen to know Dennis Twitter, maybe @TheLastGingerAle can follow him so he can place his own questions. Other than that if he visit his Twitter then I believe that he can read all his questions answered from the other players post :man_shrugging:.

If I remember correctly, it was said somewhere that you need to play online for the progress to be registered on the Battle Pass but you can definitely do it in Single Player (online) with Admin Access (to claim the rewards which are not free, you still need to pay for the Battle Pass though). Furthermore, Battle Pass will have some cosmetic items probably but there will be others sold at the Cash Shop which well … requires cash and 0 progress on the Battle Pass.

So wait…it DOES require an online connection after all? Which means PS+ required.

So…never mind then. It does screw offline players after all.

I am not 100% sure how it works for consoles to be honest. It might work differently on the different platforms. It was mentioned here that it requires internet connection.

Oh. That. Yeah, most likely. @den said that if you’re not online, you won’t have access to BP challenges and store. Like @Narelle said, there’s a chance they might handle it differently on consoles, but the only ones who can answer that are Funcom.

If @den doesn’t answer here, I would ping the Conan Exiles Twitter account and see if they have an answer for you.
