How to collect claws from animals

I’m following this guide:

Claws

But I am not getting any claws from the animals listed
I don’t understand, that I use skinning knife, pickaxe, axe, cleaver, sickle, nothing I haven’t collected one for months now
Could someone make a suggestion?

iirc they’re a rare resource and you can get them from bears amongst other creatures
→ Since they’re a rare resource, pick up the Careful Harvest perk (Expertise 2) and use hardened-steel tools or higher (I know low tier tools sometimes don’t pick up every resource type)

Get yourself over to Forgotten City of Xel-ha and use a cleaver on the grey apes. You’ll thank me.

Taxidermy hah? Cool!
My best bet for claws is the sandbeasts. Then my second is black panthers. Zathite bags however, with a little luck provide claws.
So if you are low level Zathite bags is your goal. If you are high lvl, high geared go to the sandbeasts.
