As noted, we cannot move like panthers.
We cannot move very well at all. At least they scrapped the mandate that we use tank controls, but mobility in game is still an issue.
When we couple this to the attack animations, well, it becomes clear what weapons we are supposed to use.
The weapons with wide AoEs are deliberately bait to get the player and thralls killed because of how slow and easy to interrupt they are.
But even beyond that, with the roll being the only valid defense (no parries, and shield blocks are only selectively effective) that means we should all be wearing light armour so the current micro burst asthma stamina system doesn’t leave us dead in a ditch. And that’s before we even begin to acknowledge the lag and performance issues that further punish many weapon types more than others.
“Playing Smart”.
By smart you mean skulking around, sniping, backstabbing stragglers. Exactly why this one plays a game called Conan.
Yes, very fun.
Not that craven assassination shouldn’t be an option on the table.
Just that it shouldn’t be the only option.
Why in the cluck even make move sets that are obviously wide swath AoEs of we are not supposed to ease into melee?
Half the weapon types on the board shouldn’t be trap options
In short, dying to trash mooks may be a current deliberate decision in the game.
But it’s an insipid one.
