I have read some stuff around, and just to clarify

Unreal Engine 4 and Unreal Engine 5 CAN do the same things, the difference is that while Unreal Engine is packed with stuff you might need to add, plugin or components, existent or made by yourself, Unreal Engine 5 comes with things done so you dont need to reinvent the wheel. The “amazing” graphics and other things you can have in Unreal Engine 5 you can have in Unreal Engine 4. The graphics and the general other things like sound and etc, are just a matter of ease to use and integration from the get go in 5 or more complicated in 4.

People talk about the size of the level, the details, the this, the that, as if it was fundamentally a completely different engine 4 and 5. In many cases, Unreal Engine 5 will have some worse performance due to its inherent “in engine” features you dont use, and you dont remove as well. It is not that Unreal Engine 5 will magically or instantly make anything you make on it better just because “it is Unreal Engine 5”.

Otherwise, there would not be any Unity or Frostbyte game in the face of the Earth.

Even the idea of size. It is not because you are in Unreal Engine 5 that magically everything will get “super”, and it is not because you use Unreal Engine 4 that you need to make maps of a State size …
