After playing on several different server I’ve come to the conclusion that this games pvp can be fun but more often than not it’s frustrating with certain things simply not making any sense
Like for example my biggest gripe for pvp so far is the infinite encumbrance perk it makes fights so cancer when killing a player just leads to their teammate rushing to their body and spamming f and running away
Then also if someone blows into your base and is able to grab pretty much everything in one shot is actually crazy
But I wanted to start this topic as to bounce ideas with other pvpers and things that need balance
The frustrating part is the win at all costs approach to pvp gaming and CE being a complex game leads to exploit abuse and cheesy gaming play that just isn’t fun for everyone (including the cheese players because they get bored too easily when they chase everyone else away).
Also since there is no penalty for death, the battle is won by numbers and endurance over any true skill. I’ve played some pvp where I swear I’m just in Matrix trilogy as hordes of agent smiths are never ending.

If you can fix a mod that will allow tactic wars you’ll take it to a different level.
In order to have a war both sides must come on agreement, or disagreement.
The one who holds the most treasure is the alfa, yet every treasury value must be visible from all players in a border that will ranking the clans as well!
If a clan of many wants to hit the treasury of few, time must be given for the few to make alliances or deliver the gold without war.
Or else play with anarchy and stop complaining!

Being the type of game CE is, balancing it in conventional means is impossible. Things could be more balanced for sure, pretty much infinte stam, rolling thrust, encumbrance meaning nothing as has been mentioned etc.
IMO the objectively best way to balance PvP is to make it arena style. Special symetrical map, even resources, pre-built base and a clear objective to achieve, be it drain lives, steal treasures etc.
But that takes away the freedom players typically want in a game like this. IMO though, they want that freedom because they can use it to stomp. Majority of people are here for fun and winning, regardless of the method, is often the fun they’re after.
But I would say (and controversially so) that fly base is no different than exploiting the SoC with rolling thrust. Both are leveraging the game to maximize leverage against other players.
Rolling Thrust is a clear feature completely intended by the devs, and even if the oversight of how it can be combined to use the Sword of Crom may not be intended, it is not a game-breaking exploit and it does not involve hacks.
Building a Fly Base is an exploit which is clearly unintended (see stability system), and it also requires a hack (external software being used) to build one.
Building a Fly Base is the same as undermesh, you can no longer build under the map without a hack, which I’m not going to explain but you can google it if you really want to know
Sword of Crom is intended. The options considered was to give it a high stamina cost but otherwise be a normal weapon, or stay the way it was with Rolling Thrust.
One thing I’d love to see that would enhance both PVP and PVE is an alliance system, perhaps with varying lengths up to and including until toggled off. It would make dungeon runs with a mixed group not a nightmare.
