I swear PVE got No game? 😢

One could argue that it’s thanks to PvE players that we even have the game still as they’re more inclined to buy everything in the overly priced bazaar. As a PvE player, I’ll admit I’ve been known to buy a quite a few items as well… granted I draw the line at a few of the more expensive ones. :face_exhaling: Anyway, I’m well aware that some PvP players buy the added stuff—particularly the more diehard fans— but the fact of the matter is, without the PvE community the game probably wouldn’t be around anymore, at least not with the population it has currently. OP’s bashing of the PvE community is akin to biting the hand that feeds you.

I just answered you comment on 65 thralls.

There were someone there even saying “going from PvP to PvE is like retrograding”. This game does have a lot of PvP elitism. And Funcom does indulge it. And it is not even in the game’s own genre, as a survival sandbox does not base PvP in direct combat, but mostly by conquering resource routes and territory which deprive other players from said resources preventing them from “surviving”. That aside, the assertion that PvP is a superior gameplay than PvE is a far widespread idiotic notion in many games, not only in this one.

The manner of PvP I mentioned before is even more skill reliant that it can be made if the game itself doesnt even allow direct combat or in the present game if you turn PvP off, so much it is actually a form of skilled gameplay.

But I am also a person who happens to study, and I know that no matter how you govern a set community, group or anywhere in which multiple people have scarce resources that bear multiple uses, economics apply, and one of the things we know in economics is: No matter what system you use, you always have capital, society and community.

Resource usage will always bring the same caveats, no matter the system, so you will always have problems when there is a “total limit” that does not hinge on how many each person use, but you want to limit how many each person use, because you cant count on most people to be community or society driven, even if you are dealing with communists or socialists.

Therefore, if you have a hard limit of X NPCs regardless of owner, and you try to divide this number in a share that will satisfy each user by their own limit, there will ALWAYS be the whiners and the ones who will try to circumvent the limit, even if they are doing it to their own detriment. That is what brings us a lot of problems IRL even, like disease, famine and economic hardship.

So it is not any news that people who cant read beyond two paragraphs without losing train of thought to think that “imposing limits = oppression” and people who think there is no reason to limit something that can be done past that limit by one individual, even if it is painfully obvious it cant for everyone.

Thus, the whole problem with servers and other stuff, which are not meant to be used in the way thought it is.

Conan Exiles is not an MMORPG. Funcom does not keep the servers because you pay for them, or because they are obligated to. You should understand that Conan Exiles official servers must be most likely something along the lines: Well Funcom, says GPortal, we maintain these lousy servers for your game in exchange for you to advertise our lousy service to your players.

But GPortal is not the best, the one I would use, or a satisfactory server provider. GPortal uses “routing” to offer servers in many regions it actually doesnt have infrastructure. It does not use hard sharding, it uses software sharding, meaning they use a software to isolate each single service VM inside a single hardware usually intended to be each service cluster. So you have a lot of problems with performance and connectivity.

All in all, the problem is complaining about the WRONG THING as if what was wrong was that. It is like complaining your car gas pedal does not work while trying to run in an empty gas tank. The pedal may or may not be working, and you may or may not be right, but that is not the problem you are facing at that precise juncture.

They spoke in plural, so it wasn’t really about you.

I’m one of those who used the name-calling, and that’s because I just don’t have the patience anymore to assume good intentions from someone who starts a thread that shіts on a bunch of people they don’t even understand.

And I don’t even feel bad about it, because they had plenty of opportunities to do better, but they consistently show that they deserve it.

Take this, for example:

It makes you think that maybe this thread really was a well-intentioned attempt to help people, right? Maybe we all misjudged the situation.

Except then it’s followed up by this:

Bear in mind, both of those replies were to @Kikigirl, one of the few people with patience and good-will who gave them the benefit of the doubt. And what does she get for that? An attack on her.

And that’s not an isolated occurrence. It’s part of the pattern: start a thread with an attack on a whole community, and then pepper it with attacks on anyone who objects to that crap, even if they do it as politely and reasonably as @Kikigirl.

I can’t say if it’s an attack or not since I haven’t a clue who “Harold” is. I mean if he is the patron saint of of Hyboria, then sure I guess it’s a complement. If its Harold of Cambridge, IL, then I take offense…that bastard. (please don’t go looking for someone named Harold in Cambridge. That was a joke)

I am perfectly happy at PVE-C, but thanks for the suggestion. I wonder what your opinion will be in a couple of years following the forum and the game.
Apart from that, at least for me, your post doesn’t bring any benefits or new insights, sorry

Too late. I already found him and put him on a bunch of degenerate mailing lists. He will rue the day he crossed us! :face_with_monocle:

I didn’t understand anything, sorry!
I tried to read in the beginning and understand the meaning of the title, but this… whole thing after got completely out…
What’s the complaint here?

I don’t know, either. But asking @Kikigirl a question and saying “I don’t expect an honest answer” is entirely unjustified.

I think OP is mad that Copernicus discovered heliocentricity.

I live two hours away. I’ll mess Harold UP and sound Canadian doing it. Allegedly.

(I’m kidding if that wasn’t obvious.)

@Kikigirl just LOL. I like you issue a challenge right after you identify that we play on platforms. Classy.

And it makes sense that you’re a pvp player. All the woman (assuming that you are) are pvp players. And you ladies do us proud. Any one of you has more balls than any 10 of these PvE players put together

@Rust i was born in IL. My family used to own Lake Zurich. They hired a lawyer to prove their ownership. It went all the way to the Supreme Court. They won. Then they had to sell the lake to the pay the lawyer. Smh

@Dinner_for_wolves youre mistaken. The OP is not mad at all but mildly amused in fact. Do you read anger into all text or just for people you don’t agree with?

@CodeMage youre absolutely right, it is unjustified which why said in plain English at the end that I was just trollin a little bit. You’re exacerbation fails epically

The 'Merican dream. I live somewhere across the bigger lake.

Yeah, you’re absolutely right, it’s really the only time you’ve ever attacked anyone in this thread as soon as it was clear they didn’t agree with your premise

And you even discovered my true identity – I totally am Exacerbation Fails Epically :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

You must be exhausting to be around. :man_facepalming:
You came here with sword drawn and a whole basket of contempt for those that choose to play differently than you, and then take the road of umbrage when called out? That’s adorable. Bed time sweetheart.

Really?

Oh, not really.

Well, at least nothing has changed on the Internet.

That’s a whole lot of projecting you’re doing there. Given some of the bs you’re spewing I question whether you’ve ever actually set foot on a pvp server or just read about it and imagined yourself there.

The only thing I’d bother to try to clarify is that by hideyhole I mean small, player sized cracks, crevices, ledges halfway up a cliff, the tops of random trees in the jungle, masses of roots or anything, including random bushes, that obscures line of sight. I am not talking about places big enough to put even a tiny base in.

Yet every single time both characters are immediately found on that particular server. Though I’m sure it’s just the pvp master race at work.

The Irony is strong with this one. Amazing when the PvP master race spout off like this and then wonder why no one wants to play on servers they inhabit - it’s a mystery
