Once you get to endgame, it gets boring. The game needs more systems to burn materials and followers, because once you get 50 followers and all your chests full with materials, it’s all about resetting once a week. We need more progression systems.
I still don’t understand how Funcom worked on features like vaults, surges and the maelstrom and they didn’t add them to Exiled Lands.
They could have the maelstrom spawn on different parts of the map randomly and make enemies inside the maelstrom give eldarium. It could be a system similar to Diablo4 Helltide, where all monsters inside the affected area mutate into something else, and drop unique materials. The maelstrom could spawn over each biome to give a fresh vibe each time you do it.

Place 2-3 vaults and 2 surge leylines on Exiled Lands. These assets actually exist in the game, and would bring more content enough for an entire age. Open the area under Unnamed City. That could be an awesome place for a vault.

Give us the ability to play as our followers. It would make leveling thralls more fun. Give thralls a chance to spawn with unique perks when converted, like increased wood gatheting, creates double amount of potions, increased damage with a mace by 300%, immune to cold (so when you play as this follower, you are not affected by cold). Make these perks hard to get, to require players to convert 50-100 thralls for a chance to get them so we don’t get bored because everything is being handed to us easily.
Make the fighter class have subclasses, like crafters do. Fighters with afinity for certain weapons or armor with passive perks that favours a certain playstyle. It’s a serious concern when everyone on the server is looking only for 2-3 thralls like dalinsia or cimerian berserkers.

Bring back unique crafters that make it worth farming faction settlements. Or make unique sets of armor drop only from big settlements. Would give us a reason to revisit these places.

Add more ways to enhance our gear, like gems, runes, more quality tiers that require dungeon exclusive ingredients. Add more gear progression where a good piece of armor require more time investment. The system of getting a T4 armorer and crafting a heavy armor could be so much more.

Add combat spells that are an alternative to melee/range weapons.

In the game Warframe, they have this big infested monster that lives inside your ship. You feed it any material and you can have it perform some functionalities like improve your stats for 24h, teach you new abilities, etc. It’s a good way to burn excess materials.

I’ve played so many games with so many good systems that keep you busy grinding.

  • enchantment system from lineage2 or mu online where you enchant your gear+25. It’s a simple system and gets the job done, keeps players invested in the game for years. I used to play games like these for years because you always had some goals to complete.

Division 2 has a system where you lay siege to control points, capture them. Once captured you get a big chest and a chance to score some loot and exclusive materials. They get converted back to hostile the next day. Unique and fun enemies to fight that can quickly overwhelm you. Funcom could take all the small camps in the game and have the players plant a clan banner in there, defend it for 3-4 waves and loot a chest.

tldr: We need a new map, server transfers and player owned shops. :))
