Just looking for ideas and wondering what kind of events you’ve participated in or created yourself that have been a success on your server.

I was on a server where the admin would hide something like a chest with a t4 crafter. then give clues to location. that was fun, I found the prize twice.
Also a few servers would build arenas and hold just for fun events, no outside gear you had to use whatever the admin gave you, winner got to keep the gear. Sometimes we would fight a spawned in mob, sometimes each other.
Races - like start at lower right corner of map, first one to sepermeru won. it really wasn’t speed but whoever knew the best path would win.
Build a base or two for people to practice raiding, stock it with different levels of thralls and mats.
try to make a variety of difficulties, so newer people could learn on the easier ones and the more experienced could be challenged by the more difficult ones.

With the new horses, try a jousting tournament too. We just had one on our server a few days ago. Built a large stadium and paths for the horses. Was pretty fun.

That is what I am doing on my server from time to time, but most often with items, not a thrall. On my guardhouse is a note that states which square of the map contains the treasure chest, and within that square I place a few clues as to where the chest is.
